View Full Version : How do you compress your movie/clip?

Good evening!

Well, I'm working with a new project of mine. I've always rendered my movies with the same codecs and gotten "ok" quality. But now I need to get a Perfect render and I still need it to be compressed.

It's a 3min movie (no heavy stuff in the movie, like 3D or something) and I need to get the file size below 100mb. I'm entering a moviecompetition you see, and I'd like to get best quality as possible.

How do you compress your movie/clip?
Would be great if you could perhaps show me how you compress your movie or give me some guide.

Please be as detailed as you can with your guides.

Thank you :)

Thanks for your reply. I tried your way, but the file size was just to big. But I found a nice guide which gave me good quality and compression. Thanks for your time.

Personally, these settings are the ones I use for my renders:

File Format: QuickTime MOV (.mov)
Size: 640x480, Square Pixels
Video Codec: Photo JPEG, Quality: 90%
Audio Codec: Uncompressed, 16-bit, 44,100 Khz

I usually get good results with that, but I've never rendered a 3 minute movie with those settings. Play around with them and see if you find something you like.
