This is a really noob compositing question, but how do I composite a 'lighting' pass over a fully lit object? I'd like to be able to play around with the light position in my scene without having to re-render everything. Can I just render out a fully lit diffuse pass, and then render a seperate b/w lighting pass that I can blend over the top to lighten or darken as needed? How do I do this? And what would the bending mode be?
I guess a broader question would be does anyone have a link to an in-depth document on rendering in passes and then compositing the layers? I have a few links but they're very incomplete in subject material. I'm using Maya and After Effects..

Nevermind, I overlooked Beaker's very extensive list of tutorials in the sticky thread. :)
