the image is a bit too dark to really be able to tell anything.... i know its been overused but sticking him in a skydome with final gathering might do him some good..

I thin it could really benifit from an overal color scheme.

Right now you have a lot various colors, that almost come off, clownigh ya know?

The brown and gold are looking nice, try carrying that through a little more.

The comment about being to busy could be fixed by just giving alittle thought to color choice, just my opinion. you have a pretty strong looking model here, and I think with a little work it could be really strong.

It would be nice to see awires or flat simple smooth shaded version to.

I agree with King Mob, a little continuity with the colours would be great.. it looks like he robbed an old lady's closet, or got into a fight with a 3 members from cirque du soleil

thanks for the comments.

I will try to pull together the colors a little. A scheme of some sort would definately help him out a little.
here is a wireframe and a simple shaded version.

nice work on muscle detail but the cloth and hair need work.

the pirate seems to lack the futuristic element

actually that's true, Looks like the eye patch has some sorta eye beam thingie, but maybe you could embeligh it, add some wacky tech on his hook or sumptin.
