Here's another one. This one took me like 1 hour.
Yeah, the bird is HUGE, I know, but that's the point.

I'm getting obsessed with painting clouds. (I was obsessed with them before, but just for watching)

04-11-2005, 05:54 PM
Nice piece piece Dimmur. Possible future painting in the works.

04-11-2005, 07:36 PM
Wow great lighting here guys. I guess you need it for big sky scenes! Awesome.

About 1.5 hours in photoshop. No refs. Wanted to go for a more colorful softer feel.

Dimmur: Very nice volumetric stuff! Love the sky.
MattDixon: Great stuff. What kind of brushes do you use in photoshop. I could of sworn that paiting was done in painter instead!
Daw: Very nice. Perhaps higher contrast?
Basse: Go watercolor. We don't see enought of that here.
mybutterflys: The detail is amazing. You must be a bird watcher.

Hmmmm... It seems i'm the only person here that didn't do an animal of some sort

I completly forgot about time, You could say I sort of fell in love whit the idea, hehe , I couldn't stop fiddeling whit it. I will most probably finish it one day.

This is a man who wanted a to take a break from his daily routine, so he got his dragon and went for a flight whit his winged little friends.

Nice one, Lady Medusa! Real moody. IMO u got the colors just right. Good work even though a little overdue ;-)

04-12-2005, 12:22 AM
LadyMedusa, your pic is taking ages to load. You could try www.imageshack.us (http://www.imageshack.us) , it's free and unlimited storage. Images get a max bandwidth of 100 Mb per hour. Pretty decent.

I wanna see your pixie.

edit: that was funny, you've got pixies in your pixie. Niice one!

04-12-2005, 01:57 AM
Fantastic work guys! I haven't posted in the Daily Sketch forum in way too long. Not good. Keep up the inspiration.

04-12-2005, 02:21 AM
this is from everyone's favourite movie: "Sky Carrot, and the World of Tommorow!"
http://img194.echo.cx/img194/5339/skycarrot7qt.jpg (http://www.imageshack.us)
old sketch that I've had for awhile, I don't remember how long it took but boy is it ever great! Just like the movie!
Note: I did not take this off the official Sky Carrot site and put it here

04-12-2005, 02:27 AM
ok so i know you all wanted a tutorial on how I drew my picture. Stop sending e-mails please. Ok first, I drew a shoe. That turned out to later be the body of the plane. Then I took some blue and made a turnip-shaped smudge (that's our hero sky carrot) ok now here comes the tricky part, you take a white brush and make lots of swirly circle thingies at the front to make the propellers. Congratulations you're almost done!
Next is the flames, everyone knows to put yellow in the middle, then orange, then red. You can pretty much improvise for the rest. Oh and the background is rendered in photoshop. There you have it folks!

EDIT: Yes, this is a joke.

04-12-2005, 02:41 AM
hee hee! That just made my day MettoolMan! Ill have to try that tutorial!:scream:
