Hi good to see you're interested in 3d animation at such a young age..heh when I was you're age I was using .gif animator lol. Anyways on to your piece. So far a great start, and I can tell you're interested in animation. Alot of you're motion is very jerky and you're poses could be expressed better. When you select a bone, type "0" to get into the f-curve editor, this is where you will find you're jerky movement on xyz axis'. Also to time your stuff better you may try using the dope sheet which an be found in the animation editor to time you're keys better. Another "could be source" of the jerky animation; moreover, you may have keyed the bones in translation rather then rotation. To fix this (if this is the problem), select all bones on your character, look to the bottom mid-right of the xsi window you will see a button called "animation" then go to remove animation from translation. Maybe that'll help you.
Since you're fairly young and have lots to learn, I suggest you read Richard williams animation book or even preston blair to get you started. Also taking life drawing courses at you're age could ensure a succesful career in animation.

Not trying to be harsh but I would start with a bouncing ball. Its the simplest and most effective way to learn the principles of animation - leave the acting/lip synch stuff until you have a good sense of weight and timing. It will also help you get to understand and use the curve editor. The edgard rig is great, but a very complex starting point.
Good luck, and blimey you're starting early!

I agree that maybe I should start with some simpler animation before lip synch. etc
But I don't really like the layout and style of the interface in XSI and would prefer Maya, however for some reason I can't download the learning edtion! (Help if anyone can)
I will start a new thread soon in WIP Animation as a kind of "watch my learning progress" post.
Thanks for the replys...
