Latest Update: Concept Sketch: color tests (

Some color studies :/

03 March 2005, 06:40 PM (

Well... I'm back, and hope can finish this piece :)
The concept is quite a simple, but little bizarre..."She like to feed her snake wiht love" lol :D
The story about young likes to marry dressing black, and feed your giant snakes with "fresh" fiancés.
...any comments? ;)

03 March 2005, 06:44 PM
looks great,at first i thought her shoulders where a little manish...but it seems to work.

excellent,i'll keep watchin!

03 March 2005, 06:51 PM
Thanks noob! About the shoulders..its just a quick sketch:) ,but you right

03 March 2005, 06:54 PM
really interresting story you got there....something about the snake...needs to be more imposing and develish...or is it too soon to be commenting..

03 March 2005, 07:02 PM
thanks sandsekh for the advice, I will gonna work on the "snake" (its kind a monster snake) ...maybe I put other creatures spiders and bats...
As you said, its only begining:thumbsup:

04 April 2005, 08:45 AM
hey welcome back, dude, long time no see!

04 April 2005, 01:35 PM
I like your concept and sketch alot, but the arm in the right is throwing me off, are there two guys in the coils of the snake?

04 April 2005, 01:39 PM
well i can say one thing, it gives a whole new meaning to the words till death do us part!:D tis great!

04 April 2005, 01:51 PM
I agree with the shoulders being a bit to broad, but otherwise I like what you have going on her.

My question is whether the Bride or the Snake is the dominant one. If its the snake you might have him looming behind her...

Either way, I would move her up in the frame a bit so that you can see more of the Groom's situation.

Good Job so far...

04 April 2005, 02:37 PM

Nice to see you again, good start and looking forward to some colour :)

04 April 2005, 05:28 PM
element5: tnx, nice see you too!!

Dog_Star: The Bride is the master..well, in the next updates I'll tell more about the concept, thanks!

nebezial: LOL :D haha, you right mate:D

Jose Pardo: The ideia, they not only eat the fiancé..but the entire family :)... so I wondering put more persons (and part of persons)

Squibbit: thnx! I've been busy:rolleyes:

Thanks guys for the support! And here another sketch...a closer look on the bride ;)...just a beginning

04 April 2005, 07:24 PM
Woah very sweet line art, sorta reminds me of Joe Mad's style! keep it up!

04 April 2005, 07:34 PM
I must say, I love the rbide herself, and the concept is shaping up nicely. I'm a little confused as to exactly what's happening though, has the snake attacked her bridegroom to be at her behest? Or is she marrying the snake (A plausible option in my odd mind) and she got bored and decided to order the snake to attack everyone? If it's former, you might want to make the bridegroom more obvious, maybe have a wedding band flying out of his hand or something? If thats not the intention, then ignore my crazed babbling. But I'm loving the idea of an evil bride, you should really go to town on the design of the dress...

04 April 2005, 07:34 PM
great again!! just don't turn into a joe mad clone.

04 April 2005, 07:41 PM
joe mad clone?! hahaha, ok...I think its because the eyes...its a long way to the final piece...and the things is going to be"little" different:twisted:

thanx guys, soon..more explanation about the bride...

04 April 2005, 07:44 PM
great again!! just don't turn into a joe mad clone.

I doubt that will happen

04 April 2005, 09:43 PM
Your 'bride' has got some great attitude going on there.. he he! Want to see more! :)

04 April 2005, 09:52 PM
good looking bride. you're doing a great job.

cara, tava olhando seu machine flesh e reconheci! ja vi seu desenho antes. muito bom. espero q vc consiga fazer algo bem mais fantastico do q aquele trabalho antigo (q por sinal tava sensacional)

04 April 2005, 01:12 AM
Thx everyone! I'm glad with your comments! thanks!
More things about the concept:
1- She is a type of demon (looks like a beautiful woman)
2- She have any types of servants, monster snakes, spiders..this kind of stuff
3- This servants are demons too, and the food is (guess?) humans!
4- But, its not just humans, its have to be humans "full of love" hehe... The servants eat them and ther soul.
5-So, when come the wedding day, she set it free her demons, and everybody on the church turns into "demon's food" :)
6- But, the fiancé, only the bride can

that's the basic storyline...more details coming soon.

04 April 2005, 04:52 AM
Is this a personal piece based on bad experience with a bride? (Okay, I'm seriously kidding here...)

I like the storyline and can't wait to see the developments on this. Keep us updated eh?
How will you show she is a demon? Will she be transformed or merely evil looking?
Good work and very original... :)

04 April 2005, 06:52 PM (

Lineart Wip... I change a little bit the concept...(snakes no more) just a big blind human/lizzard..hehe
thanks dudes!

04 April 2005, 06:54 PM
thats friggin amazing lineart!

04 April 2005, 07:09 PM
Looking cool, pal!

I'll keep an eye on your thread................nothing to crit, yet.

But watch the elbow

04 April 2005, 07:09 PM
Excelente trabalho...Nice cleavage..

04 April 2005, 07:48 PM
I love the style of your line art. The only crit I have is that you might think about having the lizard's head turning toward the viewer instead of the profile going off page. If both characters are looking somewhat forward it should make for an interesting wedding photo type image.

Anyway, great concept. I'll be keeping an eye out to see how it goes.

04 April 2005, 11:04 PM
Thanks guys! The last update , its only part of the entire image..
I aprecciate the feedback, thanks a lot!

04 April 2005, 02:03 AM

04 April 2005, 11:32 AM
Hi, Very good blow of pencil here, you would have can be to increase
page-setting, good luck for the continuation.

04 April 2005, 11:32 AM
Great sketch... i really like her expression!

She could probably do with a bigger bunch of flowers....? Or less flowers but bigger individual flowers..? The individual flowers look a bit small.

04 April 2005, 11:37 AM
MAN id hate tobe an usher at that wedding its like... "are u a friend of the bride or the groom... GRAAAWL ...i see .u r seated on the left":D looks fantastic man

04 April 2005, 11:37 AM
the last piece should be the best among all~!does the head of the dragon needs to be cropped?just a thought though:)keep up the good job bloodtester

04 April 2005, 12:32 PM
She is HOT! evil or not... Great drawing! I liked the previous one too. Is his face going to be inside the image? I would consider having it look longingly/lustfuly towards his bride.

04 April 2005, 02:06 PM
Hey, guys, what feed back!

Jose Pardo: Thanks! the face of the monster is to going to be inside of the image, all be clear in the next updates:thumbsup:

ms@zx: thank you, the dragon face its not be crooped.

nebezial: hahaha, lol :D thanks dude!

duddlebug: thanks for the tip, !

Tranchefeux: thx a lot!

Tommy Lee: Hey, tommy, I'm glad you liked!

MDN67: tnhx!

Tremoside: Hi, Tremoside, nice see you again!! thanks and good luck!

Jose Prado: Thanks for the feedback!

04 April 2005, 07:24 PM (

This a little change in the concept.
The bride is a demon...that transform your fiancé into a "slave monster" for all the eternity. :)
there is a little update on the monster...still working on it. For the back, I wondering put some members of the family ( if some scary expressions on their faces, of course!) lol :P

Bishoppess of Death
04 April 2005, 03:21 AM
My, aren't they the happy couple. I like how you do muscles, and your overall style. Must see how you finish this, I must.

04 April 2005, 05:46 AM
thats a cool rockin sketch man:buttrock:, goodlux! look forward to ur color progress

04 April 2005, 08:17 AM
Good work so far, BloodTaster. The attitude of the bride in your latest shot is the best one yet. Are you still considering guests and whatnot in the background? What about a trio of creepy bridesmaids in matching outfits? One comment on the bride, though: She seems a bit short. I don't know if her knees are bent underneath her dress, but right now she only looks 5 or 5-and-a-half heads tall. Maybe just shrinking her head could help, or lengthening the dress area? Anyhow, just ideas...

And this may be none of my business, but as you're the one making the strong statement, I'm just really curious... Are you, by chance, married? :-)

04 April 2005, 02:55 PM
walrus:Thanks for the tip! I just fix that, you see on the next update:thumbsup: .
And about your question.. hahaha, No, I'm not married:shrug:

eclipson and Bishoppess of Death: Thanks for the support!

Tommy Lee
04 April 2005, 03:27 PM
Yeah, walrus has a point there. Anyhow,... way to go!

04 April 2005, 07:27 PM (

A closeup on the final lineart. On the corner, a composition study (using a photo). that's a have in mind for the picture. Comments?

04 April 2005, 08:14 PM (

Some color studies :/

04 April 2005, 08:28 PM
Wow, the new update looks great, I really like the new position of the creatures head.

I also like the look on the creatures face, like it is unsure whether the "bride' is going to softly caress its chin or plunge her fingers into the soft spot under its jaw.

It might be worthwile to mess around with where the creatures eyeball is looking, I like it now, but it might be cool to have the head in the exact position as now but the eyeball looking back towards the bride. Like how dogs when being scolded will turn their head away from you but stiil keep a nervous eye on you from the corner of their eye.

Anyway your making great progress, look forward to the next update.

04 April 2005, 08:30 PM
Beautiful color tones! Very French "bande dessine" style, which I like a lot. The glows and hilights on the skin are just superb.

I do have to say that with the bright purple, she no longer comes off to me as a bride, but that may be something that will be hard to achieve with universal (well, global) comprehension. In my country, white is the color for brides to wear. In China, I believe, it's red. So you'll never get a color that reads "right" everywhere, and I have no good solution for you. Likely, you've got the right one now: Give her a bouquet and stick her in a church and let the setting speak. Have you thought about putting a cummerbund on the monster? :-)

04 April 2005, 09:26 PM
You have a great stile, Man! I love much of your characters...!

I'll waiting for the next step.

cheers: Kornél

04 April 2005, 09:58 PM
Sweet color study ! I actually love the picture you had of the reptile creature facing sideways than how it's facing now. It just seems to look better to me because the creature looks more threatening and much bigger in comparison to the bulging eye verse thats facing at an angle. But i dont know, they are all very good to be honest, and I love your color work and line work. Tell me, do you plan on painting above the line art layer aswell ?

04 April 2005, 10:31 PM
mete brasa que tá ficando gostosa! :)
e puxa as orelhas do PC, pois tu esta mais perto que eu!

04 April 2005, 11:05 PM
Ah! this looks good! ( the final lineart ) i'm sorry... but i'm gonna have to subscribe to this...

04 April 2005, 02:46 AM
Great work, it looking really awesome.

04 April 2005, 02:59 AM
Great pic, I like the coloring of the bride, she has an innocent looking Alyson Hannigan quality.

04 April 2005, 03:26 AM
stunning style! i love your colors.
quero ver mais hein!? to de olho aki

04 April 2005, 04:59 AM
I like the image composition that your're going for. You may want to thin down the meat behind her breast though, so that she looks slimmer. Just my 2 cents.

04 April 2005, 05:24 AM
exquisite! from scketch to color tests...loving it

04 April 2005, 06:01 AM
I really like your piece...the creature is pretty cool, but I really dig your woman...she has a very strong presence. Your color test looks nice too, but I hope your keeping the expression from the lineart? I really liked that no-nonsense, kickass look she had :)

04 April 2005, 09:19 AM
AWWW such a cute, innocent face ... maybe TOO innocent whats that u got there little girl...EEEEEKK ARRRGGHH!! gnaw gnaw...:D love the colour layout man!!

04 April 2005, 09:34 AM
i agree with the innocent part..but it has something going on inside her head, you can see it. great expression, and also great colour study..aaand i really like your avatar!!:D

04 April 2005, 03:06 PM

Just a question really...possibly a crit, I don't know... I'm wondering why you chose the egyptian Ankh as the symbol on the bride's choker. I am familiar with the symbolism and the meaning behind it, but I'm not sure how you are incorporating it into this piece?

Not sure if it matters because intent is a lot of what goes into art...not trying to get picky here, I really like what you are doing with this piece. I was just curious about that symbol because it stands out in the painting.

04 April 2005, 03:06 PM
Nice lineart, very sexy! I like her wicked/naughty look in the final lineart study! Parabéns e continua o bom trabalho!

04 April 2005, 03:12 PM
This is looking really nice. I'd just say careful with the muscles, dont make them too big, that way you get more of a contrast between the beasty and the girl.
Otherwise this is looking good.

04 April 2005, 07:23 PM
Wow, how much feedback!
Well, I not entire satisfaid with this pic, so I spent the last 2 days, testing new compositions and other stuffs... but...nothing seems to fit, until now:sad: ..maybe I should take a break or something..

ANARKY: yeah, this muscles...I'll pay attention on that.

Elaeria: about the Ankh, if you know the meaning, its related to the fact: the bride transform your fiancé into a slave... for all eternity...immortality aspect.

Thanks for all comments, I really enjoy! And I rope come back soon...with some update:shrug:

04 April 2005, 07:28 PM
Nothing... No, nothing to crit !

You're doing a fantastic piece.:bounce:

Can't wait to see how you'll paint the monster

Excellent piece.. your style is worthy of it's own long running comic strip... or nine!!:D

Nothing whatsoever to crit!... not one thing!!.. love the whimpish expression on the servants face and the total "I own your sorry ass" look on hers.

Waiting with baited breath to see the colour start!!

Excellent!! As is the MachineFlesh!
