This is my first sketch for my master/servant idea - a "slave to the dance" sort of theme .... I want to have really bright colors, kind of a cuba-feel, with the girl as the central image and focus. I'm still deciding if I'm going to add a guy dancing with her or not .... hmmm.

Hey, your idea is really original. If you add a guy, it may look like he is either the master or the servant instead of the music. Nice sketch! I'll keep checking on this one for updates. Goodluck Sarah J.

Nice concept. I agree with birdybear that if you add a guy dancing it will make it seem like he is either the master or servant. That's cool if that is what you are going for, but it sounds like you want the music to be the master. I could be wrong. Anyway, I think a woman dancing alone can derive far more meaning and interest in an illustration such as this.

Great sketch and idea. It looks really good and I am looking forward to the coloring process on this one. My only suggestion would be to push the girls stance a bit, add an angle to her shoulders and hips so you get a little more rhythem and motion out of her. The characters are fantastic. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the comments! I've been working to make the dancer-lady look like she's got more movement, and I agree about not adding a boy - you're right, it would confuse the master/servant theme I've chosen!
This is so much fun, I've never worked in Corel Painter before!!!

This is so much improved sarah j! There is much more movement and flow. She looks much more natural. Seems like you are doing some greyscale work here. I'd love to see some more posts! Watching for more. :bounce:

wow, its been so long since i've posted! I've just started putting some color detail into my drawing, mainly in the girl's face here, i still feel like it needs a lot of work, comments appreciated!

Hey I love ur idea! It's very nice! I agree with the others with the guy.
But maybe u find a better idea than a guy. At the moment she only looks like
she love to dance but u need something more for a slavery of dance.
That's what I think! but keep it up I like the idea very much!!
