Looks very promising. Im a bit familiar with the style (got an aunt from Thailand ;)), and I really like it.

03 March 2005, 05:44 PM (

This rough sketch.Show relationship of master to a domestic animal.

03 March 2005, 05:52 PM
Looking good, but the composition might be a little flat. Maybe from a higher angle, or with some foreshortening with the characters?

04 April 2005, 03:00 AM
Hi! i think we share the same mythologycal arts, your research is very good, i like the
overall idea, a lot!

the overall composition are lacking of chemistry, i think it would be better if you try a diffrent perspectives approach

04 April 2005, 04:16 AM

04 April 2005, 04:54 AM
hi, great concepts...I like the first composition, it shows the entire being, if you use the first pose with the second creature.....anyway it's just a suggestion.

beautiful, beautiful work...

04 April 2005, 05:00 AM

Thanks you all so much for the compliments and encouragements!

04 April 2005, 08:12 AM
What a fantastic thread... i like the series of sketches and the 'mythology' of it all! And the traditional illustrative feel is reminiscent of Dulac or old oriental prints. Splendid!!

The final concept is fab and i love the painting of the dragon's head and the way he's looking back!! Just lovely!!

The girl's pose and proportions look really natural too... not the 'idealised' (male fantasy?) proportions we see a lot of on CGtalk.

I don't know how i missed it until now...

04 April 2005, 08:13 AM
Fabulous!...This is stunning. Can't wait to see this fully finished!

04 April 2005, 08:31 AM
I loved your drawing, and now i see i'm going to love the duddlebug wrote, it does have a feel of Dulac and Rackham........which is a great thing.

Keep doing what you're doing.

Definately 'loving' the colouring on the dragon. I love how smooth and shiny it looks! The design is great as well, it almost looks like a pet, the way it's looking at the girl.

Great stuff!

I really love the style of your dragon. He's not too menacing, almost sweet and a little shy... Nice colours, but I almost hope you warm up the top left of the dragons face a little bit. Keep it going!

04 April 2005, 08:18 AM

04 April 2005, 03:25 PM
LOoking really good. The choice of colours are great and i really like the designs. The only thing i have to say is, her right arm is a bit too long (the bicep area). Can't wait to see more.

04 April 2005, 05:53 AM (

start paint girl.

04 April 2005, 06:08 AM
wow, great looking update, it really shows your exceptional talent...

04 April 2005, 06:34 AM
Nice face:thumbsup: . Only her ears shapes are strange at the hole.

04 April 2005, 06:56 AM
Such a beautiful dragon. I love the skin tones on it and on her. I think perhaps her hairline needs abit more work near the sideburn/eyebrow area. To most people it comes a bit forward there in a "triangle/peakish" shape.

04 April 2005, 07:42 AM
Pretty girl, reminder me the Magic the GAthering vard illustrations

04 April 2005, 09:44 AM
Thailand is proud! great image, and so much Thailand culture in it!!

Thank you everyone.I really appreciate the comments and good advice.

04 April 2005, 12:53 PM
Really great work, I've been looking at your thread and there is some amazing work. I think your designs are especialy good, and unique among the "girl and monster" images that there seems to be so many of (mine included). I love your colour palette and the mood it establishes for your scene, and the details are fantastic. Great stuff. Alexi.

04 April 2005, 01:02 PM
One of my favorite picture since the begin of htis challenge. So it was time for me to say it !
Really nice colors

04 April 2005, 06:03 AM (

update body and BG

04 April 2005, 06:13 AM
I like your coloring style, the color is so smooth and blending together very well...

04 April 2005, 06:22 AM
Oooo! Nice work. I really like the bronzy feel in the dragon's mane.

04 April 2005, 07:21 AM
great image... no argueing that but progress is slow and some details make very little impact.

04 April 2005, 09:12 AM
hi tuck. this is looking good

personaly i'd stregthen the colours a little - it looks desaturated and grey, but nothing hard to change. maybe put some flowers in her hair as well, if the ones in its mouth are bright then it'll draw the focus away down to the left from her face. gl :)

04 April 2005, 03:36 PM

-but the body a bit too monochrom...

best regards: Kornél

04 April 2005, 08:32 PM
Hi, much of refinement here, to continue for the best.

04 April 2005, 08:58 PM
wow, this looks incredible. especially the texture of the dragon's skin.

04 April 2005, 09:25 PM
looking HOT!

just one observation. Her elbow on her left arm is traveling way south. see if you can get someone to pose for you for that elbow. and maybe exagurate the shape a little, pull the arm back a little so its not so stiff.

04 April 2005, 10:41 PM
I like the contrast between her and the Dragon, but the dragon blends in a little too much with the environment..

Other wise it is looking awesome

04 April 2005, 11:34 PM
hey very good painting work there u got man... i really liked it... but theres something bothering me abt this picture..

#1 the eyes of both the beings are not aligned properly. Especially the left eye of the creature seem to look somewhere else. and i think it wud be better if both the human and the creature has eye contact.

#2 The girl's face is lifeless compared to the creature. U might want to give her a little smile or soemthing. Hope u got my point.

anyways, i really like the colors of this image and ur doin an exilent job with the lighting... good luck mate

04 April 2005, 03:52 AM

04 April 2005, 05:14 PM
very gorgeous piece of work ~~love the style u developed here..very nice indeed:)

04 April 2005, 05:50 PM
quick little suggestion... why not make them sit at the edge of a water fall... i think it would alot better then just a cut off cliff side. good work.

04 April 2005, 06:27 AM
Slav: because i want a mood of image is a to feel lonely.

04 April 2005, 06:59 AM
Hello Tuck
delicate mood in this picture
Just one little crit about the dragon's left eye : it seems to look at her hair instead of her face (maybe caus' the dragon has some kind of chameleon's blood running through his veins Ha Ha)
This is all lovely, keep going on

04 April 2005, 03:17 PM
sawaddee krub.:)
very beutiful colour and lighting.
i realy like your Thai-fantasy style.
i love everything in the picture but only her facial expression seem to me is look not related to the monster.
best wish.

04 April 2005, 03:29 PM
That is really beautiful... it sent a wee shiver up the hairs on my neck when I looked at it. The lighting you have on the beast is nothing short of magical, those peachy tones and the reflection on its skin. I love her pose, and the way she's not looking directly at the beast, it makes it sadder in a way. Lovely rendering of skin tones too. All in all a gorgeous piece of art. Keep up the amazing work!

04 April 2005, 04:28 PM
Keep going man, this is amazing. It's starting to look like a painitng from a thousand (forgive my Thai history) years ago- just has that feel.

04 April 2005, 05:09 PM
Hi Udom. I am a little Thai too. My mom is half Thai. But I don't really speak Thai.

I don't really see many Thai people's art work. I am glad you are here. Your idea is very good. I really like it. The color is very good too.

04 April 2005, 11:15 PM
Hi ! You have a pretty cool idea man and drawing too ! Keep going like this :D ! GG !

04 April 2005, 11:58 PM
Wow, your style is simply amazing. I am loving every single thing, the character design really has that "something" :D
I am totally stunned by the dragon creature's scale shading, just wow! I'll be watching :D

04 April 2005, 02:00 AM
Lovely progress since I last visited. I'm so amazed by that dragon... pure genious! Oh, you may want to check the length of the girl's legs (from the knees to her feet)... I think they're too short.

Again, this is beautiful work... I can't wait to see it when it's finished! :bounce:

04 April 2005, 03:22 AM
I really like this a lot! It has a great sense of feeling and depth.. My only crit would be the girls face. I would suggest moving the jaw bone back a little as well as the nose a smudge. Everything else is coming along nicelly. Great job!

04 April 2005, 06:42 AM
hi, **how the hell did i miss this thread??*** nice feel throughout the image, and loves the way you played the soft lightings.

04 April 2005, 05:41 AM (

to add some detail on my image.and adjust her skin.

04 April 2005, 05:52 AM
Oh wow! this is so beautifull! was about time i made my way here, can't believe i missed this all. Love the soft and sweet pastellic feel you put into your brilliant piece, and your characterdesign simply rox!
Keep it up mate, your piece is a beauty!

04 April 2005, 05:55 AM
WOW ! tuck,

Your detailing skill is outstanding!

Her gold accessories really make the image pop

04 April 2005, 06:29 AM
Tuck........A beautiful and elegant piece.....a classic painting......two of these for you   .....well done, very well done.....beautiful......:arteest:

04 April 2005, 07:30 AM
the girl and the dragon are beautfully painted, but her face needs more work, I think. Right now it's a too perfect profile, and that position doesn't exist in reality, so it looks artificial while the rest of the body is very naturaly posed.
Be also careful of her jewels on her left arm and her abdomen : unless it's a special design, they don't fit in the perpective of the body.
Keep it up, man, it's worth !
Good luck.

04 April 2005, 09:55 AM
Well tuck... You're killing me. I try to make some crritics every time I reply but for you I have nothing to crits. If there is drawing mistakes, I don't see it (not a specialist); I really like your color, the skin of the girl... All is great and the style really personnal. So I just can say congratulations. And show us more ! :)

04 April 2005, 05:16 AM

04 April 2005, 05:24 AM (

paint update a cliff and add something on her hair.

04 April 2005, 05:37 AM
Very nice work, it's got a very oriental look to it, and the girl stands out- for some reason, she's drawn quite differently than I usually, more old style, and it looks great.
Her feet still need work though, and I think her left hand is a little too long.

04 April 2005, 05:46 AM
The glance of the dragon is beautiful and so tender now. It's really becoming a lovely picture and it does have that feel of oriental painting in it- even if the technique is very different.

I would fix up the curves of the legs- they look too even on top of the tighs, and on near the junction were tigh meats lower leg.

05 May 2005, 03:54 AM (

i changed dragon tail.i think a old dragon tail is same Chana dragon.

I am sorry is my english.

05 May 2005, 11:51 PM
its looking good! make sure you work on the scale of her hands and feet, theyr probably almost twice the size i would draw them at, tho it could be part of you distinctive style? there is no incorrect way to draw, afterall. gl

05 May 2005, 01:39 PM
The dragon is beautiful!! texture's work is great!! congratulation!!:applause:

05 May 2005, 12:36 PM
I am not crazy about her hips/buttock area although it is good to see a "realistic" woman painted in this forum. But... this is one of the most beautifully painted images in this challenge! My hat is off to you.

05 May 2005, 09:21 PM

I haven't had chance to browse for a while... and i think last time i commented on this was when you were just starting to colour the dragon's head...

It's all delicately painted with beautiful colours and soft edges and a pretty girl and a friendly dragon. It's just lovely!

lovely, lovely, lovely...

One of my favourites in the competition... i love it.

This is just exquisitely colored, which, for me, would be extremely difficult, given the amount of different colors. Completely harmonious, and a truly delightful theme and image.

Much good luck with the challenge.

concept :
I've brought a character from Thai literature khown as Si-Da from the story of Ramayana which has been told for over centuries.
A story of a relationship and love in Si-da's childhood with her pet who has been a true friend, bodyguard and loyal companion-who will always protect its charming boss from dangerous of all.
