My concept idea comes from what I think is the most commun relationship example between master and servant, either implitly or explicitly it could be seen everywhere,it can drives ones mind compressed to our oldest parent.The most primitive motive,it can make men frequently behaves unconventionally and some times even submissively.Through some patetic creatures characters representing us,lust men and a beatiful woman with all their well managed power,I'm trying to depict this eternal but nothing boring dependence from men to women that I title "Servants Of the Master Curves".

I'll be gratefull if you help me with my (WIP) english too. You know, I'm learning it through Maya docs

Although i've been already working hard in this contest model, I did miss the rule part that say something like -you must post your working in progress-. Unfortunately, though sketches was the thing I most spent time work on, I actually don't have a scanner so I couldin't post my sketches for a while. Fortunately I've been saving my work in several files and in different stage. In fact I'm not really faraway in my project, So I'll start by post my master character wareframe.

it looks like a very promising start! However it is hard to judge from an unsmoothed version of the mesh. But I guess you have the talend to master your challenge!

well, your modelling looks clean, but the concept of your images is still a little unclear, what is the relationship going to be be? who is it whos the master? servant? please clarify a little

tdawg217 , I think it's hardest to model my cahracter in it's final pose , so I'll model it firstly in the standard bind pose > make a simple joint structure > bind it and make a quick skin weight > pose it > bake the pose > and make the final tweaks. that's why you don't find the relationship.

Hey, Great textures :D

I've seen only the start of the modeling, but it looks great now.
I specially like her mouth. It looks so real.
The eyebrows are a little like painted... add some more specular and make it just a little darker.

The skin is very good (think about darker nuance on the top of the nose, or it will look like glowing) :)

Very interesting concept!

smaddl nothing fancy...I'm using Maya and it is a eyebrow paint effect that I converted to polygon then I did some tweaks. But I think I'll be paint it in the head color map,cause it lowered render performance a lot and it will be at relative distance.

Wandddo you seems to flat her face a bit thanks:thumbsup: . I'm sure you are not a dark man:rolleyes: ... by the way Where did that angelical creatures come from? :twisted:

Atra thanks for right...for some reason my eyebrow spec was at low value I did correct that:thumbsup: . About the nose I think it was about my too strong key light.

I'm ok for the japanese style for her face... but to remain in this style, the eyebrows should be redrawn, very right, as for the geisha, I think... but it's your creation... you do want you want ;)

Great texture work Miyagi :thumbsup: I'd experiment with the rocks specular maybe increase it a bit you can get some nice highlights on the sharp areas. The wood material could use some color variation...try some sort of noise procedural with dark / light brown colors.

Really like how you made the grass too. :)

The scene will look a lot different with some background. Maybe post a version with a similar color to the end version? It will help with the c&c.

Alisk Thanks for coming:thumbsup: ...I did it with photoshop too, I'm utilizing a SSS shader that plays a lot to its it an easy and fast way to get a satisfactory skin appearence , If you don't know this shader yet. here you will find a good tutorial about this there you will find a link to purchase the shader too.

i'm so sorry Miyagi :sad: . i try but the link seems to be broken. your last update looks very nice. delicate design and colors. the characters are great but i don't understand what the little character is doing. it seems like he is holding the girl's foot, but i don't know what is that round shape. maby because the image is small, maby it just me..( i sometime don't get things right). anyway it's a very fine work. i'd like to see your last version. why won't you upload it here?

Hi smaddl I'm working on a very lazy system, I was fighting again so much crash render, so I did need to work till the last few hours before the challenge closure...But for some reason they closed it before the announsed time...when I did try post my final images It was about 2:00h before the challenge announced close time.:shrug:

I am SO sorry for not being around in your finalising your entry!

The composition is wonderful and the elements it is composed of are definately carrying the burden a piece such as this one offers.
It is full of details on every corner with a little story of it's own...
