Babies ruling their parents? One of the most original responses so far! Perfectly true.

03 March 2005, 12:42 AM
haha..very nice might want to consider playing around with viewpoints and moving the 'camera' around to emphasize that the baby is the one in might really help to drive home the concept...

03 March 2005, 12:58 AM
i was just having some scene ideas,
i am currently studying baby anatomy to draw it accurate

but i am not quite sure how to place the idea of the baby ruling its mother
but ill try to work it out :) thx for the critics

03 March 2005, 01:29 AM (

made another angle pic
what u guys think? this are just minute sketchs not something very intrincate

03 March 2005, 12:36 AM (

i am sticking to the concept of the baby ruling his mother,
i did it like a fast painting just to feel how it would be, the colors arent right yet, that weird thing on the ground would be like those colored floors babies have, and those twoo soldiers would be like playmobile or lego or something like that, and i added some teddie bear audience

how am i going?

03 March 2005, 03:00 AM (

I was studing over the kneeling position of the mother
what you guys think so far?

03 March 2005, 03:40 AM
I'm curious to see how this will turn out...Keep going !

03 March 2005, 03:44 AM
the right elbow is too low? isnt it?

03 March 2005, 04:26 AM (

i was playing with this sketch, i was coloring a litle, just rough way to get a better pitcture

is the right elbow to low?

Cool Man, i like your concept a lot, not sooo similar to mine beside the toys.

Pega umas referências legais pra desenhar esse bebê hehehe, eu pelo menos tenho uma dificuldade pra acerta anatomia de crianças e bebês, e boa sorte cara, é legal postar as vezes em português ;).
C ya.

04 April 2005, 02:39 AM
nice evolution. keep sketching to show better your ideia.

vo ficar na espera de uns ups pra saber realmente o q vc ta querendo fazer.
independente de como for o comportamento do bebê, tente arrumar uma boa expressão para o rosto, q isso vai contar muito.

04 April 2005, 03:31 AM
Hey man!

Good luck on the challenge too!! It's very nice, and I wait for more!:)

Boa sorte cara!

This is a concept sketch for the teddy bears that inhabit Lord Da Da's court :)
hope you enjoy
and constructive criticts are welcome

04 April 2005, 05:07 PM (

I was sketching again over the my concept, i hope you could enjoy and get better what i am aiming for

some details are still missing, i am plannig to change the throne for those baby sits and add some paperwall on the walls, a dor and a red carpet composed of those baby puzzle stile carpets; and finaly work harder on perspective and the baby and his mother

what you guys think?

04 April 2005, 05:16 PM
Here it goes some of the story

" In the far kingdom of Gu Gu, Lord Da Da, sits all day in his room, full of toys and his precious teddy bears.
His mother, loyal to him, like every mother to his own baby, fulfill all Da Da's wishes. He is always in need of more and more toys, specially his bears courtesans.
Surrounded by the Playmobile guard he puts aside his joker and let his mother come, kneeled with another bear to offer her son."

yep, that is something that came in my mind, decided to right down, dont know if looks good, but i hope i clear out things and draw you in to the concept, of babys rulling their parents, wich they trully do, but maybe not how i've made :)
any cricts or coments are welcome

04 April 2005, 05:18 PM
double post, slow server sorry

04 April 2005, 05:22 PM
nice, your idea is similar to mine except in mine the servan is a pregnant mother and the setting is in a baby's room where the baby is sitting on her/his poddy as if it were a king's/queens throne

04 April 2005, 05:58 PM

Those are duplo toy men! Now this is original stuff

Just question. What is the scale factor in your picture? Those toys grown big or something? Has this gone on for centuries or it just happened? I mean your story?

Just remember that those baby arms are fatty and very short looking. That goes on for that throne room king baby.

Thanx for dropping by in my thread :applause:

04 April 2005, 06:05 PM

thx for the coment and support :)

yes indeed those toys are kinda larger them real ones, in the kingdom of Gu Gu those playmobile are almost as tall as a human and they are kinda animated
those bears are more like toys really, they do most of what Lord Da Da tells them to do and in the free time they act as real teddy bears staing in their place :)

for the perspective and anatomy i am going to work it harder and the anatomy too, didnt liked the one i am using, and maybe i am gonna change the throne to one of those high baby sits where they eat and stuff

thx keep comenting need some feed back plz on the fur and the hole stuff too

04 April 2005, 06:18 PM
About the fur.

Just pay more attention on the direction of the surface.. cross stiching the shading like that is faster, but it ends up being more flat. Go look at photorefences and plan a technique that is fast and simple to achieve desired effect

Good luck!

04 April 2005, 06:57 PM
i was crossing, couse it is faster ( i have in mind like 9 or more bears ) and if got in single directions it would look like long fur, but it isnt long

ill try to work it out some more
thx angain Falcor_

omg this is hilarious...I love the teddy bear sketch you made alot too...Cant wait to see how this one turns out!

04 April 2005, 08:11 PM
haha this is sweet , those playmobil, as a painting tip i would see it with very sweet and pastel colors like in some faeries stories.just a thought:D

04 April 2005, 08:16 PM
could be more pastel and stuff

but i was planning to paint it plastic look, like they are, and add some more humor to this, making their weapons like some plastic axes :)
it would be cool, like it would be still a toy

04 April 2005, 08:32 PM

This might be fun, kepp drawing! (

04 April 2005, 03:29 AM
Gostei do urso!

04 April 2005, 03:42 PM
Good start so far dude. That's a nice stuff teddy bear study. The concept of your piece is very fun. Can't wait to see dude.
