Latest Update: Coloring WIP: Shading Testing (

I decided to let the color scheme stay for Fuu Ling, it suits the mood that i'm going for. Test driving the shadow and light sources before I move on to finish her up and work on the vampire.

I'm still brainstorming about my background though -_- ZzZzZ.

Hi, my friend introduced me this website and said I should try my luck with the competition. I'm really amateur still but i'll do my best. :)

...and very nice sketch. I was wondering how the two characters, the Deman, and angel will interact with the cross, or is the cross just to show their individual relationship to the Catholic faith.....? You also mentioned the human heart, are you going to use the Earth to envoke the human condition that is required for this competition?

GREAT Work so far...

Coreius... Welcome!!!

Nice line work. Is that a free hand drawing?

Btw, i would like to add something. At first glance I canít identify the angel from the demon. Maybe adding some changes on how you can recognize instantly the two would be a great add-on.

To trenoops: The angel and demon was used as a more prominent sign to indicate good & evil, and currently its either the earth or a man that i'm going to put hanging on the cross, its the first concept sketch so far so everything is still skeptical, thanks for the comment, i'll try my best :)

To cabertevon: Its just a rough sketch on paper before scanning into photoshop and bringing out the lines. I did mention in my post that if you flip the image updside down, you will see an inverted cross, which brings out the demon part. I hope i'm not stirring up any trouble with that though ^^: I'll be working the background too bring out the good vs evil with the world being a slave to both of them theme.

Details were added onto both characters before I move on to designing the background, I wanted to make the good and evil more prominent by using crosses, colour themes will be added later on for them.

Sorry for the double post. Can mod please delete the post below this, I'm can't seem to be able to delete my post yet. Sorry for the troubles.

With the recent series of events happening around the world, one could not help but question mother earth and her children sanity... Are we living in a world being pulled by the chains of evil or are some of us trying to find whatever salvation we can gather through our beliefs? My theme for Master and Slave will be focusing on this. The picture can be viewed in upside down too but I hope i'm not stirring up anything ^^;

03 March 2005, 06:47 AM (

I decided to revamp my theme when a friend reminded me that my original theme maybe going against one of the rules.

Changed it to an oriental girl who is a vampire hunter. Hunts oriental vampires (what elese!) and controls them with her ofudas (papers with mystical writings on them). Its my first rough sketch of her, i\\\'ll be posting more soon

03 March 2005, 12:56 PM (

I added a oriental vampire behind (the one you see in old chinese movies hopping around) the girl. That will be my master and servant theme, with the girl being a vampire priest (person who controls vampires).

Sticked on the head is a "Fu" which is also known in japan as "Ofuda". Its to force the vampire to be under your control as long as it stays there.

I'm still working on the background though, my aim is to make the picture slightly eerie with a tinge of cuteness coming from the girl.

Btw, her name is "Fu Ling". Will be working hard on this one, since its my first time participating in such a competition. All the best to you all too ^_^

I was pleased by the strength of your original concept and the clever composition you were working with. I hope this one can take on some of those qualities. I am already impressed by your drawings..Kudos!!:D keep it coming....

In the process of pairing up the colors together, so far this colour combination of the two looks pretty decent, maybe i'll stick to it.

Background is still being worked on, its eitehr going to be a deserted town or a cemetry, still trying to decide which is more eerie.

I still need to work on the details of their clothes more, smoothing out some edges here and there, will post more about my progress.

Good luck to all in the competition. Lets work together and create more kick ass artworks!

Hi, Coreius!

She's looking really cute (also liked the angel and demon, btw)!
There are a couple of things bugging me, tough - her nose could be pointing just a tiny bit more to the right and there could be a little something defining her right breast (maybe changing the lock of hair to expose a little line beneath).

Good luck!

04 April 2005, 10:19 PM
yeah i'll be giving a tweak to her nose, regarding her right breast, i'll prb add curves around the jacket more to make it more prominent. Thanks for the advices :)
