There comes a time that we all may become overwelmed with work, and it is as if the tool of your trade is beaconing you. It's almost like you become it's servent and it your master. Because in an essence you can not eat if you do not constantly produce work. So we become a slave to our trade.

For someone like me that is new and trying to break into the field, this how I fell at times. On the other hand for the people that have been the field for some time, they become the master and there tool a slave to them. One thing that does remain the same is that sometimes all we become is just another faceless name behind the monitor

This is just a real ruff sketch of my concept. I plan posting the t pose sketch aswell of the charecter. (

Here are some updates if any one is out there watching. The first is the head sketch that I'm modeling from in maya. I plan on putting a color spyder on one of his eyes wired from the huge crt on his back. The next 3 images are the beginning of head modeling stages in the maya viewport. I decided to start modeling out in subd's extrudeing edge by edge.

Hello Miketche,

Thanks for stopping by, and I'm glad to hear you like the concept and sketches.

I wanted to do something that strikes a cord in all of us at times.

I've come to a conclusion that the sketch and head model is not going the way I invisioned from my original concept. I do not want to come off as someone that is indecisive in a time of a deadline, but I had to reflect on my concept sketch and story behide it. I've decided stick to the closeing statement for my story line "One thing that does remain the same is that sometimes all we become is just another faceless name behind the monitor"
So hence the slave model will be a faceless character.

Here are some images of the base head model. I started out this time with a nurbs sphere to get the basic shape, and I plan to convert it to subd's to model in more detail.
I'll also will be posting some more sketchs.

I hope this does not change anyones views on my pregession, and thank anyone you stops by for the support.

Things are going pretty inmpressive on a hard to depict subject. It is going to be an intresting thread. I would like to see where you take it.

One thing that gets to me though is the bulk of the guy. Other than him looking cool when modeled, was there any reason for him to be so massive in mind?

Good Luck!

Hey Black,

Thanks for stoping by, and thanks for your kind words. To answer your question, I want to model him out as if he is an alter ego of my self. Strong exterior but venerable to sir-come to the computers comands when beckoned.

Also eddieellis I'm glad the you like the concept, and I hope to post some updates soon.
I've been trying to divide enough time to this project, but it's been really hard lately. Alot of things in my personal life are going on, and at this moment they are my top priority. I have been going at it from time to time thought, and I'll be posting that soon. Thank you all for all the support, and hope to talk to all of you soon.
