Latest Update: Final Image: This is it... (

Well, I hope I get this thing entered properly. I\\\\\\\'d hate to do all this work and not get it entered the way it needs to. Good luck to everyone. This has been fun. Hopefully it\\\\\\\'s the first of many entries. Thanks for the positive feedback as well as the constructive criticisms.

welcome gud luck!!

Hopefully it comes out right. Sorry if the size is off. This is my concept sketch for the Master and Servant Challenge. I got the idea from a story of a dragon rider, and the unique bond between dragon and rider. It's hard to tell which would be which, Master or Servant, I'll leave it up to you.

In case anyone wants to know, this concept is in no way related to anything Pern. I know Ms Mcaffery is quite strict about that sort of thing, so I feel I must clarify that ahead of time. No Pern.

I wanted to stress that this image is in no way related to anything having to do with Pern, or Anne McCaffery. I've actually never read any of her stuff. Technically, I attempted to read the first one, got bored, put it down, and subsequently never picked it back up, so I can claim to be free of influence of Pern. Thank you.

I'm just checking something here.

As an addendum to this image, I must say it is in no way related to any of the Dragonriders of Pern series. Just to head off any questions in regards to such. Thank you. :buttrock:

I swear, these last three posts weren't showing up before. Ignore them as they are all the same info. They just now decided to show up all at once, much like roving street gangs.

The threads work in mysterious ways.

Thank you for your patience.

Yes, I know this is pretty much the same pic as the concept sketch, but I had already had it drawn as an oil painting I was working on. I decided it would work within the context of this contest as well, so I kinda had the concept beforehand.

Trying to stay within the bounds of the rules, here. This is different than the way I normally work. I am hermitic by nature, and prefer to just show the finished product. Part trade secret, part paranoia, I suppose. I'll try to loosen up a bit.

Good start!! your sketch look good..however a small defect on the level of the nose of tone character..your dragon is not badly. But he look like a pet..You should do it perhaps more is just an personnal opinion..Keep it up it left well!!

I want to see colors...:)

Starting on her outfit. I don't normally make color comps, I prefer to let lighting and color reveal themselves as I go along. This initial rendering is subject to change at anytime. One of the things I love about working digitally.

O.K. Finished her body, face, and hair. I like her sword as well. Almost time to start on the dragon and background after some final tweaks.

Dude, that's a really good start. Goodluck. will be checking back later.

Sorry for the delay. I've been in the process of moving into a new place, and just got my internet connection back. Managed to start my render of the dragon, mostly face, ears and wings. Check it out.

Hi, the dragon render are GREAT, it seems that it could breathe, but on opossition the woman, have something strange on her, i think is the face, maybe you should check the angle of her face, an also seems to me that the skin of her face, legs, and arm are different among them.

But let me say it again the dragon.....looks really nice, i like a lot.

There is something wrong with the sword position. Are you sure sh'e going to use it that way? :)

I think it's starting to come together. Still some things I need to work out and finalize. Once I get the background going, I think it'll fall into place. But overall, I think it's working out.

i love the work on the creature, but i think you need to work on woman figure...some anatomy problems and the shadow in her face...keep on and good luck

wow man this is really nice. I could look at this for ever it feels like. Very nice attention to detail. You have the trait of a real illustrator; the power to sell the illusion of life.

Here are a few details of parts I think worked well. I am almost finished, and I do appreciate all the positive critiques, comments and suggestions everyone has offered. A positive experience, and hopefully, the first of many.

Here is the background and, barring any sudden changes of heart or unusually large demand, the final coloring for my submission. Thanks again. Good Luck!
