Hi and good luck everybody!

Here is my first concept for the challenge.
I inspired by shepherd an his sheep dog when I made firt doodles.
Then I redesigned them.

03 March 2005, 10:59 PM
excellent drawings!!

03 March 2005, 11:45 PM
Hi there
Very good sketches. Shepherd idea is brand new concept for many contestants here :) good job.

Hosgeldin, kolay gele.

03 March 2005, 07:54 AM
Good sketches. keep it up.
Good luck to you :)

03 March 2005, 08:15 AM
nice sketches, keep it up man,

03 March 2005, 12:58 PM
good concept and drawing.
anyway, i am waiting to see more from you. wish you will get a good result.

03 March 2005, 01:03 PM
thats one mean sheep dog :) god knows what the sheep look like? good idea nice to see something diffrent.

03 March 2005, 02:29 PM
cizim cok guzel, ellerine saglik!!

the idea is really original, i agree with others! Making it as a fantasy element is even better ;D

04 April 2005, 11:27 PM
Nice ! My suggestion is to try to put some more emotion in the master. have him in a fighting stance or something..Just fool around with it and see what different postures can do to strengthen your allready astounding composition!

04 April 2005, 09:32 PM
hi ~Akrep

04 April 2005, 04:43 AM
ur work looks incredible...I just saw ur thread, there are so many talented artists here...may I suggest something: can you strengthen the shadows on the folds...reat job otherwise...

04 April 2005, 08:47 AM
son yaptıgın iş süper olmuş....

last work is very nice. Keep it going.

04 April 2005, 09:32 AM

I'm glad you liked it.
Thanks for your suggestion.Actually thats a common problem o' mine, there is a lack of contrast in the most of my works..i hope to getover it by practicing more and more

Thank you!!
Eyvallah Ozan saolasın...

04 April 2005, 10:33 AM
Cool man. Love the costume and the rune stick.

04 April 2005, 10:43 AM
oh yeah! the master look good! g:thumbsup: reat job!..but the "slave" should maybe look a little more agressive..and he should maybe look at his master...

Keep it up and good luck!!

04 April 2005, 10:53 AM
Wow, very cool colour, a lot of harmony. Like the expression of the master. Hope to see more, mate

04 April 2005, 08:36 PM
Your colors are sympathetic nerves, perhaps makes attention with the folds of clothing if not very cool.

04 April 2005, 10:42 AM
Superb work with colors. Will you add some fresnel-like effects to the edges of the characters (esp the skin of the beast) so the edges will be more visible and they don't fade away into the sand? Or will you keep the black outlines (which is still fine)

04 April 2005, 12:59 PM
Tariq12: Thanks man!

Fiolka Alexandre: Maybe i can make the beast more aggressive but its impossible to look at master.Cuz its against the montagne .You have to check out my sketches and u'll see where the beast is lookin at. Thanks...

ilusiondigital: Thanks man!

Tranchefeux: Instead of darkening the cloth i'll add more light to some places, thats all. Thanks...

Hesido: For my opinion, in some places, figures will mix with place by fog, smoke and light effects.. and black lines are only assistence to the picture. Thanks...

04 April 2005, 02:47 AM
a bit bothered by the creature. left paw and teeth. i think when beasts snarl they show mostly front teeth? light on the staff can still be a bit more intense?

youve got a mastery of colors and youre doing great. cheeers maaaan.

04 April 2005, 09:05 AM
Hi Bahadir!

You took your painting a long way already -- good work! The posture of the master and his beast seem to be so much more energetic now.

I'd agree with cha0t1c1: maybe you'd need to work out more shadow-plays on the clothing (esp on the shirt) to achieve more contrast and realism. I think you already chose light coming from two sides when considering the face and the gown -- so don't forget this when working on the folds...

About the herded souls: maybe the concept of souls being herded would be more obvious when there is more than one hovering around? Just an idea, don't harm your whole composition...

:) <- Lutz

05 May 2005, 07:34 PM
I really like the color scheme you have going on here. The character design is great, plus the sky gives me a feeling that something is about to happen... Cool stuff!

05 May 2005, 03:00 AM
Bahadir, very nice work, I just love your colors, I don't know what it is but I feel like an insect attracted by a lamp when I look at those colors.

Awesome work.

05 May 2005, 08:46 AM
Hello Akrep!! What's going on?..:) Your caracter looks very good:thumbsup: maybe, just a detail, You should add pupils in his eyes, but very slightly..Just to suggest them...In order to give him a more demoniac feeling and to avoid entirely white eyes ...

05 May 2005, 06:37 PM
Fiolka Alexandre: I am planning to leave it as it. But why not:)
Thanks anyway...

05 May 2005, 06:41 PM (

Little more details and begining of the soul painting.

Seccad: Çok saolasın elimden geldiğince iyi olmasına çalışıyorum:)

authentic, GhostInTheMachine: Thanks guys

05 May 2005, 08:24 AM
Hey Akrep, this is turning out to be really well indeed.

Noticed one thing, the creatures right foot's 'thumb' nail is short but the left foot has a really long nail (which looks better). Maybe evening them out would be a nice touch?

05 May 2005, 08:30 AM
great atmosphaire you have created...i like the colours you used and the main caracter is super...good luck

05 May 2005, 09:40 AM

Kerem: Buyrunuz ruh da bööle bişe:)

agios and anostudio: Thanks Guys!

05 May 2005, 04:13 PM
Lovely technique... the clouds and figure are just great.

And i like the latest detail... look forward to seeing him in the scene...

05 May 2005, 04:26 PM
Cool style, I love the clouds too. reminds me of traditional oils. Only crit is that the 'soul' could use a little more contrast.. or maybe lighten the darks to give the whole figure a lighter key. Another thing, it looks a little monkey like, is this intentional?!
Nevertheless, it looks amazing and your level is much higher than mine, so who am I to crit? :D Feel free to ignore me.

I'll be keeping an eye on this....keep it up!

05 May 2005, 06:13 PM
duddlebug : Thanks Man!

paperclip :
you catch the right point
its true that the soul looks like a monkey, maybe i wouldn't notice it if you didnt say..thanks a lot

05 May 2005, 11:51 AM (

little more details...

05 May 2005, 10:03 PM (

i tried to change the expression of the soul's face,i think now it doesnt look like a monkey that much. :)

I've been looking at the image Backgroun_3 for ten minutes now, it seems. Same old song: I don't know how I missed this one.

It's astonishing that something so bereft of inhabitants can be so moving. It's one of the finest skies I've ever seen painted, and I've seen a quite a few.. Your final image is, to me, a strange and beautiful mix of the fantastic, the fairy tale, and the legend. I don't pretend to know what it all means, but that is part of the beauty. I wish you much much good luck with the challenge.
