Concept Sketch: Concept of Zombie, Robot Monkeys. (

Hi everyone!

My idea for this challenge is of an evil little girl controlling huge zombie, monkey robots going rampage in a city.

I guess this kind of entries, where small commands big, will be quite common in this challenge but I couldn't come up with a more interesting idea.

Also, don't take the concept too serious. It isn't in any way a blueprint for the final image. Just something to get me started.

Oj! Det kallar jag rivstart! Lycka till

Dude, I wish I'd come up with a way to use the word "robot," "monkey," and "zombie" all in the same picture. I especially like the sparks where the one robot on the left is draggin his claws across the building.

I'd stick with what you have. The hardest part'll prolly be the lighting, although I recommend angling the sun so that the shadows are cheated a little more towards the viewer.

Wow that concept is awesome  Good luck

lol!, I was thinking the exact same thing :). I like your sketch but I can't tell if that's a little girl or a dude with a cloak

Just like the little girl from Robocop 3 (No she self-distructs the ED209)

Good luck like the concept

I agree with the other comments and also I dont really feel u get the idea with the girl being in the actuall control but more like the big robots are after her...good lookin stuff tho!

Trying to get the feel of the main shape of the robot with this one.

03 March 2005, 09:37 PM
Ah, already started the sculpting I see. This will be cool and you WILL finish it. :)

Thanks for the encouraging comments y'all.

H3rbie - I agree. I was planning on having her ride one of the monkey-bots but realized that I had to make a close up for that to work and since I can't draw I took the easy way out and made her a dark shape instead. I'll work hard to convey the fact that she's in control in the final image though.

I am sure you will suceed. you must:twisted: .... just kidding
The main shape of your Zombie bot is quite good.
I'll come back on your thread to see how things are going.

Good luck,

awesome i really love tis stufff!!!

This is a concept for the evil girl. Since I can't draw I made a quick low-poly model that I rendered out and then painted on. This helps me to quickly define a base for the final model and also gives me the right proportions while painting the concept.

Also, thanks alot ninox and bardakos for the comments.

I feel that it'll take an awful lot of time to finish the scene I originally planned on. I have an idea on how to make a simpler scene while at the same time solve the problem of showing that the girl is in command. I'll throw together a concept of this later on.

Hmm... I've been staring at your concept girl for two days now (I love the image in the corner btw), and I've come to a conclusion:

In the original image I had the notion that she'd be a lot younger.

The current sketch of her looks like she's about 13 or 14 instead of hte 7 or 8 I'd imagined. I'm not sure what final age you're going to go for, but in the current sketch I'd age her body up a bit too, give her developing breasts. I'm not trying to be a pervert, really -- only realistic. :)

Course, if she's going to be young than she can keep the body she has.

Listen, I can't wait to see what comes of this, so post again soon!!! :)

kattkieru - Yeah, I know her age is confusing and I haven't really made up my mind yet about it. I'll make a definite decision when I start modeling her.

alex.h - Thanks man. Och en bra dag till dig. =)

Really like the head. Are you going to keep those textures? From here they look like they're final already, aside from possibly a bit more scarring up. (I assume that if one has a zombie monkey robot army, one would use it quite often.)

Is that a fake reflection, or did you put in some text geometry?

great sketches, and the modelling is looking very good so far. Nice and clean

Damn! Missed this one too. Great sketching, great idea. Only one note. The girls shoulders are too big. They fit for male character more.

Great design of zombie-robots. Very future-retro. Respect. Don't change it.

very nice start... man i love ur lighting.. cant wat what u gonna show us in the final piece... best of luck mate

04 April 2005, 09:01 PM

Hi there! i love your concept......human master and huge robot servant wreaking havoc in a modern city....a classic master and servant case....keep it up!

04 April 2005, 09:29 PM
Hey great sketch, that is so rockin. The robot is a little square looking though... ;-) Joking aside I like your lil' square robot test anyways. Helmet section looks kool, it reminds me of the sun glasses that hang over the top of the head. cheers good luck.
