Latest Update: Modeling: Couple more jobs for ZB. (

Bods will be done separately with the join covered by stiff collars - this'll give me a few more polys for each part in ZB.

Despite being aimless and itinerant, a master and his servants continue their relationship
in a barren wilderness, even inventing new rituals in order to perpetuate it.

The master rides a rocking horse shaped as an ass. He is nude but for a battered top hat,
collar, riding boots and a pair of gloves. He has three servants, all identical and blind
and also mostly nude.

The first servant rides behind the master on the rocking ass but faces backwards and wears a bowler hat and a pair of gloves. Without any real interaction or acknowledgement, the master has hold of the servants arm and is using the servants finger to pick his nose. The servant, also seemingly oblivious to this action, sucks his other gloved index finger.

The second servant wears blinkers and a harness attached to the rocking ass, which he is dragging.

The third servant wears a chef's hat and follows behind, scooping up 'horse' scones, though of course these can not have come from the dumb and inanimate rocking ass.

I wanted to do something absurd with underlying symbolism but after doing the concept it looks more like some Victorian S&M romp.

The idea of making them nude was to show that we are all the same underneath and often it is the badges of rank that discern us. But I'm thinking I might give them their clothes back to kill off the sexual inuendo.

I decided to go with the Victorian era because it was a time when the traditional master-servant relationship was coming to an end (in the west) and I wanted to capture a mood of institutional decay. Because of that I put the guy in a gentleman's club chair, which seems to fit better.

This concept is largely to determine composition, which I wanted to do before starting modelling. As the final image is a still, there isn't much point modelling things that won't be seen. I'll work on final character details individually.

Interesting idea, chaotic situation I'll wait for your models.

Good luck!

Very interesting, very symbolic. Sounds like it might hit hard! And come far! Go for it, great idea!

Quick and dirty base modelling (butler's head and dog) done in XSI. Work has got in the way and I am running out of time so I will fix up the myriad of problems in ZBrush, which is quicker for me.

I'm still working on composition as the original was way too clunky and awkward. If time is short I may have to reduce the number of characters as well.

I figured I would make all the basic models and set up the scene in XSI and then import the scene on mass into ZB where I will cut it into parts for separate detailing and texturing. Doing it this way means I will only need to use one multimarker to recall and place each of the tools when needed.

It's hard though because I'm really itching to do some ZBing; the butler is meant to be an old man so there's plenty of work to do there.
