Alphonse, chief of the motorcycle club
Shell's Angels got a hole blown in his
head in a gunfight and he fell to a ditch
by the roadside. He was bleeding badly
and barely alive when a rat, also wounded
in the same fight- from the same shotgun
even , seeked safety from the fray and
found it, crawling through the hole in
Alphonse's skull and covering the opening
with whatever it happened to find.
Both healed rather well , but the rat
got stuck in Alphonse's head because
no thing as pitiful as mere rat could
get through his thick skull.
Alphonse still leads his gang but the
rat in him sometimes takes over and
he does uncommon things like stuffing
bits of cheese in his ear and speaking

03-22-2005, 07:20 PM

Gruesome yet charming.

Put a possom in his chest, and raccoon in his guts, which The Shells Angel Alphonse, nibbles at to help cope with the squeaking in his head.

03-22-2005, 07:38 PM
Hihihi, so it's started :) that's goona be so much fun!

ok ..all village was fishing and hunting
and what have you and so there were no
workers around to finish building the
new school. And there was a storm
approaching so the village mage summoned
a little helper to finish the job so
the school would be ready before the
storm reached the village.
The helper was not too happy about it.

03-22-2005, 11:53 PM
Ohhh... poor fat pink demon.

Best of luck Squibbit and welcome back!

03-23-2005, 12:06 AM
yea... i think this second sketch was a bit simple...
and i was too distracted playin Eve-online at the same
time and stuff...

o well.. .. this really seems way more difficult a subject
than the two previous ones ... did get a new idea typing this tho..
it's sort of a remake of an older idea so i don't think i'm gonna
use it.

thanks all for comments ,except for wabbit cause he didnt have any..
..wabbits ...

sonja i do tend to whisk away the most common ideas and search for
other stuff , except in this latest sketch but oh well :) dunno how to
explain it better

now to sleep and hopefully tomorrow i get better ideas

03-23-2005, 01:16 AM
Good to see you Panu, best wishes.

These three kids love fish but are
poor fishermen. They're holding the baby
pteranodon captive and are threatening
it with harm if the mother pteranodon
doesn't bring them fish from the sea.
The baby pteranodon is not in real
danger and is actually playing along
with the kids' scheme cause it hates
fish and would rather eat lamb.
Masters of deceit and the humble servant

03-24-2005, 10:34 AM
http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/entries/8/5758/5758_1111660495_medium.jpg (http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/entries/8/5758/5758_1111660495_large.jpg)

ok the this is the pic i'm gonna start to
work on , a dude on a battlefield , his
loyal squire by his side , taking care
of his weapons.

it's a fantasy setting with the squire
being some enthusiastic little goblin
and his equipment, while looking from
middle ages, might end up having laser
sights and such modern things among

I'm gonna describe this all in detail
with better time and also provide you
with clean smooth line art

much of the pic is yet open but i was
planning to ad a cart full of weapons
and ammo in the background with more
of the goblins (lesser ranking) working
around it.

03-24-2005, 10:36 AM
i was wonderin when sumone was gunna so sumthin like this, looks great!

*gimme my goddamn gun u lil b**ch* hahaha.

03-24-2005, 10:42 AM
Hey looks cool!

Can't really say much more right now! Hanging around for your next update!

03-24-2005, 10:44 AM
I was thinking the main dude gonna be more like the quiet, knightly type , almost
unbeatable and the servant like a trouble-free explosives crazy gollum. The goblin's
not very strong nor a good aim but it loves to see the weapons it has crafted and
maintains in action :)

u know, even the serious knight cannot help but smile every now and then as the
goblin jumps up and down , cheering for every foe slain and obstacle blasted away

03-24-2005, 10:51 AM
Hé really nice concept there!!!don't get to far from this one indeed!!!
The first sketch has got a nice feeling of energy.Maybe a more inclined perspective from the ground got even more give it energy!Great anyway, and watching:bounce:

03-24-2005, 05:56 PM

All my encouragement for new challenge Good starting

03-24-2005, 08:28 PM
http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/entries/8/5758/5758_1111696084_medium.jpg (http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/entries/8/5758/5758_1111696084_large.jpg)

Old Sucka was ded , ded ,ded, killed by
the priest Grell of Happywood.
Now was Old Sucka's heir's turn to rise
and lead the vampires.
Silvia had followed Old Sucka for 300
years , ever since he made her vampire.
She knew no other vampire of Old
Sucka's tribe wouldn't be able to challenge
the heir for leadership.The heir
was the first existing person who the
Old Sucka had made vampire. She knew
she was the first, her rule would be
absolute , a new reign of fear in the
region would begin.
Little did she know that in a moment of
weakness the starving Old Sucka had made
vampire Burt . Burt had been a 6 year old
kid who'd just been run over by a truck
he'd just tried to destroy with a self-
made land mine. Burt had been made vampire
3 minutes before Silvia. Burt would rule.
And Burt would allow no killing of anything
except wolves, bats and mosquitoes, Cuz
they was nasty, so he said. And the
vampires would spend days and years
inventing stories of black panthers and
dark elves they would then tell to Burt so
he could sleep his endless nights in
heavenly peace

03-25-2005, 12:24 AM

Hi Panu :) I hope that I now have time to finalize my s**t...GSO was my real dream but time wasn't my friend :)

About your M&S: You sure have strange Imagination...in a positive kinda way :D

I think any of those will work but the man with the gun and his assistant is coolest so far (and in some weird way the funniest) Maybe the pink demon somehere in the background :))

03-25-2005, 10:47 PM
Rock on ... Squib!!!

03-25-2005, 11:00 PM

Plenty of sleepless nights to look forward to again :scream:

Good stuff sqib rock on dude!

03-26-2005, 04:48 PM
oh so this was just a warmup for you? :D Well I'm now really looking forward to see your next work...and don't listen that voice in your head, It makes you miss the deadline ;)

"be the master!" :)

03-26-2005, 05:29 PM
One more interesting and funny sketch from u :) But Im for the donald pic :bounce: Hope u'll pick it as well..

03-26-2005, 05:30 PM
Monkey boy! Monkey boy! :bounce:

I think it's your strongest concept so far and has the greatest potential for showing the servant/master relationship. Reminds me of Mad Max & the feral kid characters from the Road Warrior. The gladiator mask prevents us from seeing his facial expression, though.

Fun concepts, and I'm sure you could make any one of them a winner.

03-26-2005, 05:38 PM
I like post #94 - some great imagery there that follows the master servant theme. In the most recent one, which is the master and which is the servant?

Cool work!

03-26-2005, 05:48 PM
no 3d mate ej! :D , ah i think this image will be very good when u finish this! :)

03-26-2005, 05:57 PM
well, u surprise me there , francis boy ,with all
u been through with your life and art , you never been to hell ? Hehe
Well I hope you never will and so I will enlighten you.
The nail head there is the boss of the cleaning detail. The nails in its
skull depict its very few unsuccessful attempts to form a reasonable
thought during it's existence. The little diablos clean the statues of
whatever blood/poop etc. smatterings happen to fall down from the infinite
above. Nobody could ever care less how the statues looked or if it
was clean anywhere , actually most of the inhabitants hate all cleanliness,
but the little diablos think their work is important; they even think that
the ladder job with the light duster sticks is a better job than cleaning
the floors while there really isn't much difference. So the little diablo
here is like reborn and on the top of the world for getting promoted to
the ladder job and given a duster stick. Next week it'll probably be demoted
again or be promoted to clean the lavatories but these things don't even
cross it's little mind . Now is joy and that is all that matters.

03-26-2005, 06:03 PM
so have u begun concentrating on ur final composition yet?? if so looking good, can't wait to see what u come up with.

03-26-2005, 06:09 PM
workin on it, workin on it... patience , friend :)

03-28-2005, 09:56 AM
haha nice to see u drop by Dimi , yea I'm going with that concept and
I'l hopefully have the line art ready later today

03-28-2005, 09:58 AM
Hiya :) ,

What I see so far I do like and am pleased to see you are going with this idea :applause:

03-28-2005, 09:58 AM
oh goody! :)

03-28-2005, 10:05 AM
thanks, element5!

whee dimi new avatar ,where'd u get that from ,hahaha :P

03-28-2005, 10:14 AM
Even if I was more for that vampire stuff at the beggining, I think this is the right choice as well. Im already seeing some nice faces of a servant. hahaha! Cant wait to see him more detailed. Like he has to be all nice and with big shiny movie smile nevertheless there is a true massacre going on. Great stuff! :)

03-28-2005, 10:16 AM
thanks, element5!

whee dimi new avatar ,where'd u get that from ,hahaha :P

U !!! :bounce:

decided to load unfinished lineart
cause i wanted comments on this.

sooo anything u got just go ahead
and give some feedback

03-28-2005, 04:32 PM
Looks cool. A few things come to mind; first, don't let the dragon overshadow the two main characters. You'll need to work that colour well.

The servant looks pretty cartoony whereas the rest looks more realist. If you're going for a more cartoony feel, the concept may work better if the guns were absolutely huge and the servant even smaller, hefting the gun towards his master with both arms whilst his master casually holds out his hand.

Anyway, nice job, keep it up.

03-28-2005, 04:47 PM
Very cool Squibbit.

Nice linework. I'd go for a bright orange red sunset near the dragon in the left, personal taste though.

I think the gnome is a bit too hidden behind the spearthing sticking out of the dead dragons head. I think it would be better if you didn't hide him behind objects literally.

Cool idea, 's gonna be a nice one I think.

03-28-2005, 04:51 PM
The masters pose is strong, he has a central placement and occupies a large piece of the canvas. The servant has been pushed back and to the side, is very small and his pose is weak. All this is fine and helps convey their relationship; I just think the servant falls into a too minor role...it works better in the concept, where his huge grin grabs some focus...

03-28-2005, 04:53 PM
you´re unbelievable! burt and old sucka.. hahahahaha! :applause: what a crazy mind! love it!
i´m just looking at your last post.. i like the composition..

hmmm maybe i like the servant of the last (colored) version more... with the tiny arms and the big head.. just a thought :) ... great work!

03-28-2005, 04:56 PM
The concept is awesome and different than anything else I have seen thus far. I think it can be a very strong image. Love the sea serpents!

03-28-2005, 05:01 PM
It sound good!
Good luck Squibbit!

03-28-2005, 05:12 PM
ahhh..my favourite..go with this one...nice composition. excellent idea

03-28-2005, 05:16 PM
man , u people are fast with your comments, I love it !

- yea I'm aiming for more realistic than cartoony end result ,
I was aiming for more teamwork feel too , even if it is a master/
servant relationship , so I'll try to give the servant a bigger part
in the pic.
- boekestein , the big spear thingy is a sword carried by the
servant , although it's not that obvious yet , but worry not,
I'm not gonna hide him behind objects :)

03-28-2005, 05:22 PM

it does seem to be sticking out of the dragons eye though, a bit confusing to the audience maybe. Will be watching.

03-28-2005, 07:11 PM
Reminds me of old amazing-fantasy covers from the 1940s--
all you need is a blonde beauty clinging to the heroes leg---

I like it a lot, keep going in that directin ;-)

LOL! DUDE! That's hilarious!

He is that what a squibbit is?:scream:

03-28-2005, 09:22 PM

03-28-2005, 09:26 PM
yay smile wrinkles !:bounce:

03-28-2005, 09:33 PM
damn you move fast :D It's like christmas every day =)
So have you settled on some concept? I saw that you made another version from my favourite theme (the "hakkapeliitta" and monkeyboy) :)

I feel sympathy for Dr.Doom...poor green fella. (and a well thought current theme also with fantastic four overtaking our theatres soon ;)

03-28-2005, 10:03 PM
damn you move fast :D

been able to do a sketch for the CGTalk Daily Sketch forum
almost every day too :p

sometimes all is just fun and stuff like this happens :D

ps. yea the knight is the final concept, but these extra ones
just keep popping up :bounce:

03-29-2005, 07:08 AM
Ha Ha Ha veryfun na

03-29-2005, 07:53 AM
That last one is killing me :D hahahahaha
However, the lineart looks great. There is a lot of freespace on the left upper corner, where the look of that knight is directed and than a nice contrast full of potential details in the right lower corner with some action in it. Composition is the best. But I think, that on ur sketch the servant had more honest and hilarius face, which made the pic more real in a way. In lineart image, he's more like a psyho (and thats my task! :D) without some special expression. And thats the only thing Im missing. Keep it up! :)

03-29-2005, 08:33 AM
This last idea is crazy! Keep them coming! Are you going to go with this one, or have another 50 crazy ideas!?

Let's see the next lot!

03-29-2005, 10:33 PM
you´re mad.....simply.do you live in another time dimension?...it seems like you have 132 hours everytime I have 3. The calculation might be wrong, but I did it fast. See, I have a lot to do, can´t afford too many dead ends along the path...Now, go pick one, before I get...argh....jealous.

03-29-2005, 11:37 PM
Hiya squib, the latest is again very funny, but...it won't be accepted, you are not allowed to do existing characters or at least characters you didn't came up with yourself. I wanted to do a Star Wars reference and I asked in the FAQ and found out it would be judged as fan-art and it's not allowed.
I personally like the one with the gunman the best, but dude can you please make up your mind, I want to see your progress, bet it will be good whatever you choose:thumbsup:

See ya

03-30-2005, 02:58 AM
LOL  jeje realy cool

03-30-2005, 05:33 AM
lol... cool~ ~cheers~

03-30-2005, 09:03 AM
Comon, get serious again! There's still plenty of work to do! :scream: :wip:

03-30-2005, 09:20 AM

wher could i get one ?

Kragh, i don't even know if i got the time or not , this all
just seems the right thing to do !!! :bounce:

03-30-2005, 11:07 AM
ahhh, you have become addicted to this...well, it does seems like the right thing to do. We are all having a blast, that´s for sure....but we are also big fans of your painting skills, and would like to see you finish this....ok?....so go get to work, plenty of time left...if you settle for an idea NOW....ok?...:)...btw, I still think you have some extra hours than me, though....think it has something to do with finland...maybe the location...don´t know. I went to finland at the age of 15...in one week I hooked up with two different girls...that is not a normal amount for me. Normal rate: 0.01 per week:sad: ....so there are difinitely something going on in that area....

I really like this image ! :wip: Eventually (a personal POV) I oud see the master a little bit bigger/stronger, but this is really a nice image and unique (didn't see all 2D entries, but I found it unique...)

03-30-2005, 01:47 PM
i think that time ratio thing is correct,...where do u got the time Squibbit, fastest brush in the . . .. urm, forum. glad u going for the gun man. i am out of the game at present..got to get back in.. and stop looking at everyone elses great artwork while slowly sinking into depression . ..

04-01-2005, 08:29 AM
Yawn... four days and no update???

Either Mr.Squibbit is doing a marvellous new piece that he doesn't want to share with us... or he's too busy eating cream cakes and browsing the forums...

04-01-2005, 08:42 AM

I got a new concept but it's only half done (painting wise, the idea's ready).

I also been busy with work n stuff

04-01-2005, 08:46 AM
Can't wait!!!

04-01-2005, 02:08 PM

This one's called "payback"

04-01-2005, 05:08 PM
Hahaha... erm... Is the cheese coming from inside his boxer shorts? Or from inside the sack? Or from inside the sack in his boxer shorts? :)

It's a bit like a reverse of mine... animals piping for people to lose all control...

The rat's are just fab... especially the one rolling around on his back.

I'll forgive you for the wait now... :p

04-01-2005, 05:11 PM
Haha, this one is great! I love the rats. Very funny stuff man!

04-01-2005, 05:16 PM

Good job...........pat on the back.

Oh nice colors, I like the way that you draw.

Good luck mate :)

04-02-2005, 09:10 AM
I love the "payback" concept !
Nice mood and colors !

Cya !

04-02-2005, 09:24 AM
thats fantexcelliant! But go with gun and goblin dude. can not wait to see colour.!

04-02-2005, 01:21 PM
Jep that ratpic is very funny. i sorta liked ol sucka a lot cuz burt looked that silly. but ratpic is very kewl. squib, wanna see moore moore lol, go squibby go! (excited expecting some frontpagestuff) :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

04-02-2005, 01:48 PM
http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/entries/8/5758/5758_1112449728_medium.jpg (http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/entries/8/5758/5758_1112449728_large.jpg)

since I'm gonna do the knight pic I'll
post the concept again and try not to
change it again, heheh.
As you can see I'm still struggling with
the line art. Not really sure what I
want to put in the pic. The servant is
gonna stay a bloodthirsty meanie and not
a big headed weakling, tho. Even though
many liked the big headed fellow i got
quickly annoyed by the melon head and
wish not to see it again, soorryy.

Most of today I been creating a set of
personal brushes for photoshop and I
can't wait to see if they're really
useful in painting. But as I said
before I gotta finish the composition
first ...

04-02-2005, 03:05 PM
I was one of those who liked the big mellon head servant  but ok... I completely trust u on the bloodthirsty one :) Lets the coloring step begin! Good luck with the brushes!

04-02-2005, 03:22 PM
That picture is very cool too. And I like the way you used the "line art".
I'm waiting for the full composition...:bounce:

04-02-2005, 04:18 PM
I agree on the mellonhead squibbit!

Is the gunpowder a placeholder? The dead demon serpent was a very nice dramatic angle. It would hide the servant a bit but you can find an answer, I know that.

You're making me curious:).

04-02-2005, 04:23 PM
actually, i was thinking of leaving the barrel of gunpowder,
even though it was just a placeholder at first. It's like the
dude is so tough he knows there isn't any danger of it
exploding in his face, even in the midst of battle :D

04-02-2005, 07:25 PM
Yeah, that's cool. Then you could really make the rest a friggin' hell-hole of a war. For effect:twisted:

04-02-2005, 07:40 PM
yea i like effects ,hehe

04-02-2005, 07:44 PM
liking it.. there hsould be a big war in background for sure... (The knight is a either brave or stupid resting his foot on gunpoder!)

04-02-2005, 11:43 PM
You got rid of the dragon/serpent:sad: , I liked that part. Hope to see more updates soon though.

04-02-2005, 11:44 PM
http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/entries/8/5758/5758_1112485441_medium.jpg (http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/entries/8/5758/5758_1112485441_large.jpg)

yea i took a look at the earlier
dragon sketches and man they looked cool
to me, so I'm taking a risk and going
with this anyways , as it really looks
rather silly.

I'm posting this as lineart , but there's
also a couple of reference pics included.
One is for color scheme and inspiration,
the top one with the mountain goat.
The other is to get the tiger thingy
even remotely right cause without
the reference it would probably end
up looking something like a leaping
pillow and silly as I am, too, I ain't
THAT silly. This time.

04-03-2005, 07:35 AM
This looks cool and the color scheme seems perfect (nice lighting !).
I have a crit to make though :

I think there is a scale problem here. It's not easy to understand what's going on in the scene; I mean I can't really tell if the man on the tiger is falling behind or in front of the main guy. In fact, the shadow clearly indicates that he is behind but his scale does not fit with the distance within his shadow and the soldier's one (unless he is a dwarf).

Everything else looks good. (especially that nice skull ! reminds me of Esteban Maroto's skulls).

04-03-2005, 07:39 AM
Good work and good luck. Goblin is cool.

04-03-2005, 08:28 AM
That picture of the mountaingoat really kicks ass man!!!

:)I didn't understand what you were saying.:) Are you going to use dragons or not?:surprised

If it's gonna be in colours of the goat, It's gonna rock!

04-03-2005, 09:41 AM
argh , why DF, why?? it didn't look like that to me until u said it,
now it looks like that all the time , he's being attacked by a dwarf, hehehe, arg,
ok, i'll look into that, big thanks for the comment dude

yea no dragons boekestein, at least for starters anyways, sorry :)

04-03-2005, 01:44 PM
was looking at it again and something struck. The hero is holding his hand towards the back of himself, blindly trusting sorta. But the wee guy is coming from the right. I'd place the wee guy further back, could also be fun to do a frontal of his expression.Eagerly awaiting further news.

C Ya.:)

04-03-2005, 02:24 PM
nice concept squibbit! But I see also the scale problem Deadly Force mentioned!
Looking forward to your coloring work!

04-03-2005, 02:28 PM
yea that scale problems a difficult one for me...trying to
correct it, of course. Also, I moved the servant slightly back.
Now messing with the brushes... one or two of the brushes I
made are useful, but even then mostly for the background and
other larger areas...gonna have to make other brushes.
Painting going very slow at the moment , but I'll be able to
post an update later tonight, so laters and thanks again

04-03-2005, 02:30 PM
really cool new concept

i was always into historical films or documentaries so i definatly digging this piece.

ill await the updates! keep at it.

04-04-2005, 06:39 AM
I been thinking and I'm gonna take the rat and the rider away
from the pic cause it doesn't easily convey that the knight has
shot the rider a moment ago and the rat is still carrying him
towads the battle.
And they weren't attacking the knight but he shot the
rider anyways cause stuff like that happens in a war.
And yea I'm too like if such things happen in a war
why wage wars in the first place ? but little do they
listen to me...

04-04-2005, 08:42 AM
Hey squib, I thought the rat was situated behind the knight, his actions taking place in the background...

The best way to convey the knight shooting the ratrider is by depicting the moment the bullit hit the rider. Not 1 second afterwards I think. Also a bullit hit would throw the rider backwards, maybe throwing him off the rat, instead of going forward (if you look for a bit of drama :) )

... But you made clear you'd get rid of the rider. It would lose some tension, but it won't hurt the pic, I think.

And I would make the barrel stand straight, I think that would give the knight more balance.
He has his weight on that barrel and he needs to stand firm and balanced when he fires his shot, so he can counter the kickback of his pistol.

04-04-2005, 08:48 AM
nice sketch pal, welcome and goodlux!

04-04-2005, 09:36 AM
u got it right Art2 , the rat/tiger is behind the knight, and the rider was shot a second
or two ago by the knight when the mount was still in front of him.

At the moment of the pic the knight would be waiting for another loaded weapon
from his squire to be able to take care of the tiger mount.

so anyways , i'm getting rid of the rider and the mount and think of something else.

The barrel I'll keep tilted , cause the knight's so good a shot he really don't need
the extra balance, so he's just playin with the barrel while providing judgement
with his guns

04-04-2005, 09:40 AM
Hey Squibbit,

Powerful scene you have and that quick research about tigers is really cool :-)
Good luck!

Tommy Lee
04-04-2005, 10:57 AM
Hey there buddy!

Every crit has been said allready, but I have a suggestion. You should loose the chains on the servant. It makes no sense...
In a battle he would be killed rather quickly and wouldn't be no help no more for his master...

Just my two cent. Overall really good piece, keep it coming!

04-04-2005, 11:07 AM
Dragons!!!:bounce:(1!)too many, :()

sounds like it's all coming together piece by piece! Are we gonna see an update soon?:)

04-04-2005, 11:12 AM
thanks for comments, tremo ,tommy & boekestein.

yea I thought that the chains might be too much.
Anyways, I was already thinking of changing the
servant to another type too... dog or sumthin...
I want explosive action in the pic, just like in the
mountain goat photo and I'm gonna get it, just
not sure how yet , so gotta wait...

How about a lead ball ripping from the musket through the head of an approaching beast/warrior blowing it/him off his feet onto other beast/warriors approaching for some brutal action fun and games

I must say I thought the dragons where very cool.....I don't or haven't yet got sick of that theme/style..

Good luck figuring it all out Squib.....

Rock on dude :buttrock:

Hi Squibbit

Taking time to add a clever comment... well, well, well... Where is it ?

Ah yes ! What about considering an horizontal picture ? The rat+rider seem to be cut in their movement.

quote- Hey squib, I thought the rat was situated behind the knight, his actions taking place in the background...- I feel the same.

Will the main character be surrounded by lots of evil critters ?

Anyhow, I really dig each of your pictures
