Anthony Ray Hollis has entered the Master and Servant 3D.

Challenge Page (

Latest Update: Modeling: Characters - The Wizard & His Assistant ( Rigged & Posed) (

Wow!... What a weekend this has been. I checked out my thread a saw some of you were giving me the business lol...that's cool...I'll be back to post in your threads soon <GRIN>

But I was far from slacking, put it this way...when I went to select the milestone for this entry I was looking for "Birth by Fire".

Without going into a whole lot of drama...I had to relearn how to rig with the latest ver of LW due to some changes with the char anim has been a learning experience to say the least more like 18+ hours of learning and fustration.

So here they are rigged and posed LOL, I had the little guy in character acting as if he see's something he wants to pick up. And I still need to tweak my meshes some for better deformation but its really coming out well.

Im still on pace though thank God and the biggest thing is that Im actually having fun. So now its off to modeling the environment this week...Hope your weekends were enjoyable :)

03 March 2005, 01:58 AM
Hey Anthony,

You gotta get your Master/Servant thread link in your sig :) it took me a minute to find you at first. Anyway, looking forward to seeing what you come up with :)

03 March 2005, 02:02 AM
welcome to contest and good luck

03 March 2005, 02:08 AM
Good luck, and have lots of fun.

03 March 2005, 02:36 AM
hehe, best luck to you too :)
bring it on!

03 March 2005, 02:41 AM
Best of luck.

03 March 2005, 05:13 AM
• Wellcome on board Anthony and good luck!

03 March 2005, 12:13 PM
Thanks all,

I spent about three hours last night pondering some ideas and seeing if I could really "Flex" my imagination for this contest. Towards the end of the night I had some really cool Ideas (I thought anyway) but to me they didn’t seem feasible in the time allotted to finish the contest.
But the idea I decieded on I think is really solid and somthing I could pull of in 2 months time.
Currently I'm at work  so I'm going to have to wait until I get home to start sketching the concepts for it, but except something soon.

03 March 2005, 10:40 PM
Bah! Keeping us in suspense!!! Haven't we had enough suspsense waiting for the topic to be released??? lol, I look forward to see what you've come up with.

03 March 2005, 02:16 AM (

Well here is my idea for the challenge. It's pretty straight forward actually, what we have here is a wizard type character that has lost his amulet and needs his trusting servant to retrieve it for him.
The emotion that I will attempt to invoke from the viewer borders on tension by establishing the fact that there is some unknown creature in the dark void behind him with only his eyes shinning through.
The emotion that I will attempt to capture on the face of the master is that of concern for his servant (pet).
The emotion that I will attempt to capture on the servant is that of "Trust" as he looks up to reassure himself that his master has his best interest at heart.

03 March 2005, 03:06 AM
Wow, love that style, only thing I see right now is that the "creatures" emotion doesnt really come through as much as I think you wanted.

but thats why its a concept sketch eh? hehe

03 March 2005, 03:11 AM
That's for the compliment :)

I know what you mean, I just wanted to get what I was thinking on paper so I could study it more. Im going to enjoy creating some morphs for the little guy so I can get the exact expression I need...well thats the goal anyway.

03 March 2005, 11:05 AM
I like it :) I think this has lots of potential to evoke emotion from the viewer. Maybe add something to the man so he looks more like a wizard, at first i just thought he was a thief having his pet grab an amulet for him hehe :)

03 March 2005, 12:21 PM
NICE CONCEPT Kid Mesh! with what software packcages you will model this scene!?Cool start anyway!

03 March 2005, 12:36 PM
OZ - Thanks on the compliment about the sketch, kinda emabarrasing though because it was just a quick rough sketch. I wanted to do alot more with it but this is a 3D contest so I figured just get the concept down and scribble away. In regards to the software package I will be working with it's Lightwave 8 for me.

Shaykai - Man you must have spoken with my wife, (matter of fact where were you last night? ), Anyway she even said it looked more like a thief than a wizard and I felt that it proably would turn out better if he were. So looks like im going to lean that way with him at least.

I will start modeling him today so I will post some updates soon.

03 March 2005, 12:43 PM
haha I really love the idea/concept  and good luck !

03 March 2005, 02:50 PM
you've got a cool sketching style :) but am I the only one who thinks the amulet looks like a handgrenade? ;). Kidding, good luck!

03 March 2005, 03:03 PM
LOL….Believe me when I say the 3D version should do it justice, but wouldn’t that be something if that actually was a grenade? :scream:

03 March 2005, 04:39 PM
Thats a very cool idea man! I'll be subscribing also.

03 March 2005, 04:47 PM
haha grenade! i cant wait to see the 3d version :D

03 March 2005, 06:39 PM
I saw it as a hand hrenade first too - sort of got another twist for the trust part, eh? :)

Great start you got here - going to be fun to see where you take it.

03 March 2005, 06:49 PM
Perhaps more tension and meaning will be enhanced on your master and pet's emotions if you hinted some danger that the pet is risking in the task to retrieve the amulet.

" i will not hesitate to conquer the world if i thought no risk to myself will be involved" - Alexander the Great's neighbour.

My entry:

03 March 2005, 06:53 PM
it would be cool if the creature was looking straight in the camera, while you see some eb1l monster shadows projected on the wall behind him :), just a thought :)

03 March 2005, 07:42 PM
Well currently the idea is that the thief is lowering his little buddy down to grab the amulet and in the background of the cave a creature resides there in the darkness but all that will be seen of it is his glowing eyes. I dont think I drew that very well on the concept  but its there.

The servants expression is that of half hearted trust and he is thinking, "ok I will do this for you because I know you wont let anything happen to me, right?"….yet the creature in the cave will prove that sense of security to be false.

03 March 2005, 07:46 PM
Hi Kid Mesh, cool start to the contest dude...Only advice is to create some more dynamic tension in the image with the camera angle looking up from near the egg.
good luck:thumbsup:

03 March 2005, 08:05 PM
great sketch and a very nice idea :)

03 March 2005, 12:39 AM (

Just getting started with the "Theif" character, roughing out the landscape for now. I think for the goatee Im going to just model that and not worry about hair so I can get it the way I want it.

03 March 2005, 12:43 AM
WOW!! I love the concept man...the feeling your trying to portray works well. Cant wait to see the models =)

03 March 2005, 12:49 AM
I cant wait to see them too!

Thank you :wavey:

03 March 2005, 01:30 AM
nice man, this should be good. too early to crit the model though :)

03 March 2005, 01:48 AM
hahaha, way kewl! lol, seen it too, and like the idea a lot, go for it! great sketchingstyle, makes me very curious to see it come to 3d :) rock it!:scream:

03 March 2005, 04:27 AM
Looking good so far Anthony :) haha, i can assure you I was no where near your wife ;) i was busy working on my challenge! hehe.

Maybe you can flesh out that he is a thief by having a few coins and jewels falling out of his pocket and on the ground around the amulet like he had to make a quick escape, but then he dropped his most prized object and had to go get it. Just an idea.

The modeling is looking good so far, kind of early on so there isn't too much to critique. I'll keep watching this thread though!

03 March 2005, 01:26 PM
Geta-Ve - Yeah it is kinda early, just wanted to get something else out there under the modeling milestones :)

the1st_angel - Im defintely going to try!

Shaykai - Wow the idea about the coins is an excellent idea LOL I can see that, very cool thanks. Im hoping to get pretty far today and this weekend since Im off work until monday so it should be a super productive four days

03 March 2005, 04:10 PM (

Just making more headway (no pun intended) on the Master character. I just love modeling characters :) ... Im still roughing him out though, I want him to have a sterotypical theif look to him, big nose, ears, etc. Still fleshing it out so time well tell....gotta push more polies.

03 March 2005, 06:31 PM (

Still fleshing the base, this will proably be my last update for this guy until after I model the ears, eyes and neck. Afterwards I can really start to play with the poly landscape and shape him out how I want.

03 March 2005, 06:53 PM
hmmmm. Id seriously consider doing the hair/goatee as a seperate object, instead of directly extruded from the face. would be easier later on to texture me thinks, and remodel if neccessary..

Right now I dont know if im liking the nose too much, especially when you look at the concept. he has that real "stoney" type face going on, and then the model seems to be too soft and poofy, if that makes sense?

Also I see that in the reference you have the top of his head wider than the bottom, but you switched that around in the modelling phase.. I dunno, I kind of liked the reference proportions better.

anyways, this is all here say I think as its still very early in the game :)

Definatly keep up the good work man!

03 March 2005, 06:58 PM
Im feeling the same way about the goatee as well, thank God for incremental saves. I may just do it as a seperate object and see what happens plus im not really feeling it atm. In regards to the concept versus what I have now and the soft versus stoney look, your dead on. Man I could spend hours playing with this thing because its so much fun, but Im going to model the rest of it first and then go back and adjust accordingly. When Im done it should be fairly close to the concept. (The head that is)

03 March 2005, 08:49 PM
Hi there Anthony.......Well thats quite a cool and fun concept.....I like the predicament they are idea.......nice start on the modeling, looks like a nice clean start and your off on the fastlane.......i'll be watching for more....

03 March 2005, 01:15 AM
very nice so far and quite unsusual for this contest. I like it very much :D

03 March 2005, 01:22 AM
Hey Kidmesh *grin*
This head looks awfully similar to the other head you made a while back... which looks awfully similar to that tutorial I saw... lol, what are you doing Kidmesh?

sup bro, I completely forgot about the collab project--my whole moving to santa cruz got the hell out of hand. I was so busy, and my computer was all over the place, that my entry in this challenge is the first art of any kind that I've done in probably 6 or 7 weeks.

good luck buddy, I'll be keepin' a watch on you.

03 March 2005, 01:32 AM (

Well I decieded to go back to a previously saved version before I modeled the beard. The only real update is the ears that Im still fighting with atm based on my concept art. Im not really sure I want to make his ears that big :) because the character will definetly end up being stylized...Anyway, still have a lot to tweak so time will tell.

03 March 2005, 01:37 AM
Gremlin - Hey Gremlin long time no hear from, hope everything went well with your move. Yeah the collab thing didnt really work out but it has been revamped by Madkarma and AJE. Under the name The Gabriel Strain and thus far they are making awesome progress.

This head is not the same that you saw back when we were doing the collab :) that's for sure, Im currently trying to follow the concept art that I created for this contest. But hey, what would be interesting is if you could link what tutorial your speaking of because it may help me with this beard issue.

Good luck with your entry, I'll be watching.

03 March 2005, 01:50 AM
Lookin' good Kidmesh. Not sure if I'm going to enter this one or not. I'm busy with Uni:D j/k. This doesn't look like any model of yours I've seen before. It's your style to be sure, but the same model based on a tutorial? Riiiight:rolleyes: I'd like to see that tutorial myself. A modeling tute of a head with African American features based on your drawing style. I've gotta see that.:D

03 March 2005, 03:22 AM (

Well, the face is slowly starting to come around to what I want. I remodeled the beard and this proably wont be the last time I tweak it. But I took Geta-Ve's advice a went on with the seperate object concept. Oh yeah and I shrank the nose as well :)

Hopefully by saturday I can get started modeling the body....but It's time to crash for now.

03 March 2005, 03:45 AM
Love him... his expression and the way he looks tells me hes a thug and a theif ( a bad dude)
i REALLY cant wait to see the body

03 March 2005, 04:58 AM
gr8 start man... looking foreward seeing more soon... keep up the good works

03 March 2005, 11:32 AM
Hi Kid Mesh,

Cool idea and good start also. The head need some work but it is looking good so far.

Good luck,

03 March 2005, 02:35 PM
Umm! cool 3d start!

03 March 2005, 02:54 PM (

Well I tweaked this character a tad bit more, added some eyeballs and extruded his neck. At this point Im done with it until I get to the texturing stage, I know I will do some more tweaks at that point. Im off to modeling the body and accessories now.

03 March 2005, 03:01 PM
becoming really interesting and amazing face modelling ! Congrats

03 March 2005, 03:02 PM
Troof - Yeah, it didnt help that I was listening to Alice in chains while I was modeling him but that's defintely the feeling I wanted. But Im looking forward to working on the body too!

overcontrast - Thanks!

ninox - Thanks for the crit...yeah Im gonna round that dome out alittle more, I keep looking at the concept and im wanting to square his head in the front. But at this stage im happy with it for now.

-OZ- - Thank you for the comments.

03 March 2005, 03:09 PM
great kid mesh, some smal tweaks on head and its there, (come on, we want to se the body now) :arteest: see you and

03 March 2005, 03:25 PM
jddog - Thanks kind sir, I still have a lot to learn as there are so many excellent modelers in this contest. Im just glad mine looks human :)

alex.h. - Im at a mini crossroad with the body, In my concept art the (Wizard) thief is wearing some sort of cloak style jacket. When I invisioned him that's what I saw and what I really want to put him in but last night I started thinking about rigging for posing.
For the time allotted I dread to have to rig that coat along with everything else, but Im going to go for it at this point and if it gets outta control I will just have to come up with a better garment solution.

03 March 2005, 03:51 PM
I like the concept and the head looks good. Can't wait to see the rest of the body.

03 March 2005, 03:58 PM
Nice concept and model. Good luck in challenge.
LW rulez.:)

03 March 2005, 05:21 PM (

Well now that the head is just about all modeled I really needed to start thinking about how to go about the body for this character. Originally I thought about going with the cloak idea like in the concept but Im really not too keen on rigging that pose or that cloak with the kinda time I have left. So I realized I needed to get an image out on paper so I can just get started modeling again.
BTW, Please forgive my horrible porportions on this, it was defintely a quick sketch and idea session mixed again with a little alice-n-chains playing in the background (gotta stop that).
Anyway I proably wont redraw it again...but I needed that modeling road map :)

Knowing me, the final version will resemble this slightly but I'll proably add or change the garmets as I go, dunno if I like the boots either and I will add some other accessories. But this is good enough visually to get me going. I guess we will have to see....btw image is loosely based off Konlan from BC

03 March 2005, 05:43 PM
coming along nicely man!

03 March 2005, 06:43 PM
Hey man, ya the seperate beard I think works alot better :) I'd say make the "tails" of the beard longer too..

One thing though, the head seems too elongated overall.. you have more of a stoney look going on now which I like, but I think over all its too long.. just a bit though..

and one thing that bothers me is when looking from the front it seems so parallel (sp?) you know? hmm

Anyways definatly a great improvement, now I gotta do more on mine :p

03 March 2005, 06:48 PM
Sheep Factory - Thanks, I appreciate you checking in on me :)

Geta-Ve - yeah I think I might make the beard a tad longer to give it that "Wizard" look or ala "Ming The Merceless" feel. I will look for some cool references when I go back to it. Also I agree about the "parallel" issue lol...It's going to have to beef up a little and rounded some more before its truly done but thanks!

03 March 2005, 12:17 AM (

Starting to model the torso, once I get the base down Im going to maybe try and model some wrinkles in to the lower portion where the stomach is as this is supposed to be a shirt. I got a pretty good vid somewhere that has a wrinkles tutorial in it but its not that good....(Must experiment). Once the torso is actually finished I will model the vest just to see how its going to look as well.

03 March 2005, 12:35 AM
good start, but still too early ;)

And i'd say dont get too caught up in parts that wont be seen, what matters most is the final image, which is one of the reasons i was thinking not to do the ears on my character, you know?

anyways, keep it going man!!

03 March 2005, 02:08 AM (

Ok, here is the lastest version...I want to add so much definition since I have the base but since the vest will cover most of it...maybe not.
I did some quick test modeling of a vest based on the concept art and it kinda looked cool...but then again it kinda didnt lol thus no screenie. Tommorow for sure an update with the vest and later on arms, hands, etc.

Cheers All.

03 March 2005, 03:23 AM
The modeling looks quiet fine to me Antony, and the updated concept (blue stylesheet) gives a great glance on your plan. can't help id, somehow reminds me some samurai.
Kewl stuff yet, keep it up!:wip: :buttrock:

03 March 2005, 03:43 AM
Nice man. I think though, in my opinion the abdomen (sp?) looks too pulled in.. sort of like hes sucking in his "gut" :p I would pull it back out just a bit..

But I like the over all shape you have going on.

although.. looking at your concept.. sort of fits.. hmm

one other thing I see, though this just might be because of the perspective view, is that the torso from the side looks too thin?

Anyways, keep pushing those polys man, because i demand perfection! :D

great job!

03 March 2005, 06:13 AM (

Well I started watching college hoops because I was shutting down for the night and was just toying around with the vest idea, and in between commericals one poly got pushed then another and then I lost track of the game :) ... Anyway here is the vest which still needs a few tweaks but overall Im happy with the start based on the concept art.
Tommorow I will work on defining the areas of the torso that are exposed and then start on the arms and hands.

03 March 2005, 07:57 AM
Looking good so far! You are flying along, with several others on this challenge..I just started modeling tonight :D

The vest is looking pretty nice, nothing to crit there!
Keep it up!

03 March 2005, 08:02 AM
The modeling i coming alnog nicely, only thing is the the bottom of the sleeve is a bit too flat, makes it look triangular. keep it up.

03 March 2005, 08:15 AM
good of luck

03 March 2005, 11:08 AM
lovly update kidm, want to see more ,

03 March 2005, 11:21 AM
Wintermute - Yeah Im trying to get modeling out of the way because texturing is where I need work. So Im trying buy some much needed time. But good luck to your modeling start, hope its a fast one.

ace4016 - I see what you mean, it's still a W.I.P, there needs to be more definition in certain areas as well. I plan on addressing it and thanks for the c&c its always welcomed.

manikantkujur - Thanks, the quick sketch is hillarious because its just so bad on so many levels, the porportions are just horrible :scream:. Honestly I wasnt even thinking about it while drawing it, I just wanted to get a visual down so I could start modeling.

alex.h. - Thanks man, and you will ( I guarantee it )

03 March 2005, 11:29 AM
Hey, very nice idea and concept. I liked your way in modeling, great job, keep it up

03 March 2005, 11:38 AM
Nice style there Antony  It's good that some people are going into a slight toon atmosphere...the concept looks very promising...can't wait to see the servents model :)

03 March 2005, 01:16 PM
Great start Anthony  Good luck dude

03 March 2005, 01:54 PM (

Here is another quick update, just starting the base for the arms and getting ready to do the hands shortly their after. Currently the arms are a tad long but I will make the neccessary adjustments once I finish tweaking :)

03 March 2005, 01:57 PM
Very clean and model. Well done so far nothing to crit.
Keep it up:thumbsup:

03 March 2005, 02:04 PM
3dRaven - Thanks, Proton was one of the main reasons I wanted to get into character modeling because he it made it look so easy to do in lightwave. His "Hell Boy" model actually helped out my thought process when I was planning on how to model this vest.
Back when they offered up free CGTALK models packs a long while ago I studied his meshes along with others and learned alot. But yeah, Im more inclined to do stylized or cartoon style characters versus realistic.

blackdragoncg - Thank you sir and good luck on your entry too!

ninox - :D So far so good then, thanks!

03 March 2005, 02:25 PM
Great concept and sketch Kid mesh and very refreshing style. Keep those updates coming!

~ Rrrreinier

03 March 2005, 02:40 PM
Nice progress and a really effective mesh. Nice work!

03 March 2005, 02:42 PM
Agreed, nice and clean!

03 March 2005, 02:51 PM
Ave Anthony,
Hey, you are a good modeller...Hope success in the challenge, keep good work goin' ...

03 March 2005, 05:08 PM
eYadNesS - Much appreciated thanks!

Reinier - Thank you, Im trying :)

dmonk & jmBoekestein - Thanks, It's Lightwaves subpatches that are making me look good

J++ Dragon - Thanks for the compliment sir!, but have you seen the talent pool in this contest ? I'm just a mere neophyte trying to maintain with the CGTALK heavy hitters.:scream:

03 March 2005, 06:50 PM (

What does someone have to do to get a "hand" around here?

O.k. so I have never really been that funny. But here we are starting on the hands, dunno yet if I want all out gloves or the kind gloves that have the fingers cut out....or maybe just plain ole hands.

03 March 2005, 07:20 PM
Amazing model :applause:

03 March 2005, 07:43 PM
wow nice sketch...if i had those skills ill draw mroe then one hahah
just one thing thatll be nice is more definition in the arm..just a little though =)
lol the finger got me for a sec but its nice..and i cant wait till he's posed and p-i-m-p-e-d

oh yeah i would say gloves with the fingers cut out because your model looks more like a thug. With the will look like one of them "international" theives liek what you see on them spy moves, someone that is rich...and slim. Your character looks like hes one of those..."i got to have it" people and will rummage to steal things..rather then being careful.
get me?

03 March 2005, 09:00 PM (

Well the hands are done for now. Hand modeling is almost as complex as modeling a head :)

Anyway, I have them to the point to where I will either finishing them off as human hands with knuckles or make gloves that will fit around them....but that's later on.

Sorry for the funky presenation but how clever can you really get showing of a pair of hands. Ladies dont answer that :)

03 March 2005, 09:03 PM - Thank you sir :)

Troof - LOL, your killing me guy :scream: but that is what Im shooting for glove wise. The movie bit was funny, "International Theif" hahaha

03 March 2005, 09:08 PM
Nice almost shout out "Look I've got nothing up my sleeves"

Now I'll sit back and watch the magic show

03 March 2005, 09:36 PM
heya, nice concept!

great start on the modelling.. another great thread to follow..

03 March 2005, 10:09 PM
Hey man, thats a might fine hand you got there, looks like you can certainly handle yourself. Or perhaps you just don't really have a handle on things?

haha ok Im stupid, but anyways, good hand, I like it, but why did you start with the middle finger? are you trying to tell us something? :D

03 March 2005, 10:11 PM
great progress here mate!:)..... already finishing the master eh?

03 March 2005, 12:07 AM (

This is the last update with the hands. After my last post I did a google search for some gloves to use as reference, then I started pushing polies and voila.
They still need some tweaking but the geometry is there to do what I need. I might add some spikes or studs to them...who knows.

03 March 2005, 12:12 AM
Goodjob, goes perfectly with the non international thief hahah.
Puttin' studs will look a little better then spikes...but i cant get a clear spike set in my head

03 March 2005, 12:17 AM
yunisiree - Yeah, I figure if I can model the master and the servant in less than two weeks Im doing good because Im going to need time on texturing.

Troof - LOL, yeah....hell how about putting jelly beans on the gloves instead j/k :scream: it's easter.

03 March 2005, 12:24 AM
Hi Anthony,

Well done workflow. Nice models. Keep posted! You're on the way:buttrock:

03 March 2005, 02:20 AM
Yup ...i agree ...your modeling work flow is very good ....i lke your character too...he has ...err...character!...Why i haven't subscribe on this yet?...argh...sorry about that won't happen again..

I am very interested to see how u will evolve that creature....:bounce:

03 March 2005, 03:08 AM
Rockin' looking good KidMesh. Can't wait to see the creature.

03 March 2005, 03:18 AM
Those gloves look like they belong to a thief. Posting the wire of the hands is helping me with my hands a bit. Just a suggestion: maybe you could scale the vertices closer together that are on the palm-sdie of the hands on the fingers to give it a rounder shape:shrug: . Can't wait to see what else you do.

03 March 2005, 03:55 AM (

Well for the last few days I've been modeling mainly the upper body stuff so I wanted to see how it all was coming together. I cant get a real fix on the poportions until I actually model the bottom half because i want to scale the torso etc etc.
Oh well, sorry I could provide a decent screen shot due to the fact he is in the "sobriety test pose". Tommorow I will start modeling pants, boots and other little extras.

03 March 2005, 04:00 AM
ace4016 - If you need some better wire shots let me know and I can email you some. Im stil tweaking the hand though, but I do see what you are saying about rounding it off where suggested...thanks. At the same time Im just thinking ahead so when I rig this guy I dont run into an issue with bone influence.

03 March 2005, 04:01 AM
Great modelling so far (especially the jacket and gloves).
The goatie still looks very weird to me (like a glob of plastic on his face), but maybe it'll turn out better when its textured.

03 March 2005, 04:11 AM
Dimitri - Yeah Im itching to model the creature because it's the main point of emphasis in my concept so I cant wait.

Blue Cougar - Thanks man, Ditto!

ArtisticVisions - Thanks, the gloves and the jacket were fun to do. But the goatee LOL yeah it sort of "Action Figurish (sp?)" ala G.I. Joe style. But I found a nice little tutorial vid clip today on modeling braids. I think Im going to experiment with that and see what happens.

03 March 2005, 04:29 AM
Keep going bro, come on Aim

03 March 2005, 04:30 AM
very great progress, great modeling, thanks for the little crack up before, i needed that badly. :)
keep it up mate!

03 March 2005, 05:48 AM
Your latest update looks great. I dont know if those extra wire views would help, seems I'm just having a problem moving the vertices, but looking wont hurt;) (email (

03 March 2005, 11:51 AM
stripe - Im defininte pushing for the finish line on this one, thanks

the1stAngel - Thanks, and I know what you mean because we have the hard job of trying to please our own kind ( artist ) which at sometimes we can come of a little too cynical and dont even know it or even realize it. But if my previous reply made you smile then that's great because it was a geniune.:)

ace4016 - Hey man the spirit of CGTALK is sharing of information and comradery. Check your email...hope that helps

03 March 2005, 11:58 AM
Nice progress Anthony. Thiefs coming along quite nicely. Love the little details in the gloves. What method are you going to use to render him?? Toon or realism??

03 March 2005, 12:37 PM
3dRaven - Thanks, Well Im not really leaning towards toon and he is too stylized to be very realistic. So somewhere in the middle like what you would see for high poly video game trailer or something. Defintely textured though because that is one of the area's im focusing on for this challenge to learn and grow.

03 March 2005, 12:56 PM
thats it dude.. cool man models looking great deserves a bounce :bounce: looking great awaiting updates...

03 March 2005, 12:57 PM
Cute concept, and you're off to a great start with the models. Good luck! (Not too much luck, tho... I need to keep some of the luck for myself :) )

03 March 2005, 03:06 PM (

Just getting into a groove on the lower half. Still early with the pants, maybe a few more defined wrinkles here or there then its off to the sasha (sp?) that hangs down in the front and boots time!

03 March 2005, 04:08 PM (

Latest update, tweaked the pants a little more and added the sasha (sp?). The pants will be something I will proably tweak until the cows come home. Now it's time to make these boots, I've been looking forward to this part all weekend because I have no idea how the hell their gonna turn out, but I plan on sticking close to the concept sketch.

03 March 2005, 05:44 PM (

Here is an early prototype for the boots based on the sketch, still alot of tweaking left.

Gotta model those soles :) will proably look at my boots for that.

03 March 2005, 05:52 PM
been busy i see, great stuff.

03 March 2005, 06:04 PM
Nice going on the pants. I think the wrinkles on the pant leg shouldn't start until the knees; I would think the pant legs would be straight around the thighs, and as they get closer to where the boots they get more wrinkled. You could also make the wrinkels a bit asymetric. Just a few suggestions.

Once again, thanks for the help:thumbsup: .

03 March 2005, 06:14 PM
btw pertinent observation ace4016...
Really nice modelling

03 March 2005, 07:47 PM (

Well this is it for the update on the boots, I will proably tweak them further but Im happy with them for now.
Now I just need to go back and tweak the pants more and define some better wrinkles...but the "Master" is about in the can.

BTW....the boots were very fun to do although I wouldnt be caught dead in these lol.

03 March 2005, 07:51 PM
cool! u have cirtainly put a good informative show for us:thumbsup: Kid Mesh!!

03 March 2005, 07:51 PM
ace4016 - I hear you man :) , Im retweaking the pants as we speak...trying to get rid of the DragonBall Z feel LOL. But the boots and the wrinkles have been a little bit of a pain time wise because I had to model them asymetrically, hell I would have been done hours ago!

alex.h. - Yep, when you have a demanding day job you have to take advantage of the weekends :) and since this was Easter holiday weekend I was able to FLY.

jddog - Thank you sir.

yunsirees - Too kind, too kind. If anyone can benefit from the wires have it :) Im not as skilled as some of the heavy hitters in this contest so dont let me walk you down the wrong path on certain things.

03 March 2005, 07:51 PM
like the boots, (i like a pair of them), see you and

03 March 2005, 08:26 PM
Wow its been a busy 4 days modeling wise

So now Im going to adjust my porportions and attach every thing to the Master. But atm im at a bit of a crossroad, Im really in a modeling groove and Im ready to start the "Servant" tommorow. But...I also want to rig the Master now and pose him so I can see that

Pfftt, I'll proably start modeling the servant just to get that knocked and then rig them both back to back. Im just hoping that the servant doesnt come out looking like "Stripe" from "Gremlins" lol.

03 March 2005, 09:13 PM
Sure your not using z-brush yet ?;) ...Going quick..and real well.....nice clean lines......those boots are quite slick too Anthony......loking quite nice overall....keep banging it out....:wip:

03 March 2005, 09:19 PM
First impression: A monk/wizard type character is punishing his dog by lowering him down to pick up a grenade (lmao!):scream: . Then as I looked at it, I realized that it was an amulet. I think it would be good as a wizard, not a thief. I like the concept.:)

03 March 2005, 09:44 PM
great looking boots, im wondering tho, why is there padding on the sides of the boot, and not in front where the toes are?

awesome non the less

03 March 2005, 10:13 PM
WOW i missed your updates...and from the looks of it he's taller on your model then he is your concept...but tahts ok beacause he looks rough. Really nice.

GL posing

03 March 2005, 10:21 PM
Nice update Anthony...looks like you beat me to a better pair of shoes :) Looking real nice there especialy the shoe soles.

03 March 2005, 10:50 PM
Virtuoso - Hey man I wish, from where I sit ZBrush seems complicated but im still interested in it. Thanks for the comments though, much appreciated.

willisje - LOL yeah that concept pic gets everyone, He definitely some kind of wizard "thief". Thanks for your kind comments.

Troof - Yeah, the concept (Full body) was a quick sketching attempting at getting him out of my mind and on to paper with no regard for porportions at that time. Posing him is going to be fun too I think.

3dRaven - Thanks Raven, Id thought Id have some fun with some "KidMesh" style Treadz :scream:

03 March 2005, 12:42 AM (

Well for the most part here he is... 90% complete modeling wise :)

A few more tweaks here and there, rig him and he's done except for texturing. But for now it's time to model the servant.

03 March 2005, 12:55 AM
Nice Nice...i hope both his pants and that sasha thing arent both the same color..cus it looks like he has a big butt, bt your the artist hahah.
Hope you get the time this week to finsih the servant and most of the you can start some tedious texturing...

btw zbrush is not at call complicated...the workflow , gettin from place to place, will sometimes annoy you, but if you get it down its easy to learn.

03 March 2005, 01:05 AM
Troof - Yeah the sasha and the pants will proably be different or noticeable enough to make his "Butt" look normal :scream:. But thanks for the info on ZBrush...I'm gonna have to really give it a once over, I just hope I have time to learn enough for it to make a difference.

03 March 2005, 03:25 AM
hope both his pants and that sasha thing arent both the same color..cus it looks like he has a big butt...
 uhm whats a Sasha thing! is my butt fat?:argh:

great update Kid! holy molly one day away and everyone seems to push harder ever before! great progress, very kewl! keep it up Anthony!

03 March 2005, 03:47 AM
haha, great stuff man, my crit would be that the shoulders are too far apart.. making his head look small :p

other than that I think its cool, really fits your drawing style :)

good job man!

03 March 2005, 04:06 AM
the1st_angel - LOL, let me resolve it now...had to google it. The proper term for that piece is referred to as:

Sash - A band or ribbon worn about the waist as part of one's clothing or over the shoulder as a symbol of rank.

Dunno where the hell I got sasha from :scream:

Geta-Ve - Yeah he still needs some tweaks, but thanks for the c & c....oh there will be plenty of that to go around once I start texturing

03 March 2005, 02:29 PM
Damn anthony! You've really progressed! I'll have to keep a closer eye on this thread so i can add some useful critiques before you finish! So far I love the model you've made, he's going ot look fantastic when he's all textured and posed. I love how the whole model has the same style, like how the gloves match the look of the boots which matches the look of the pants etc... No critiques right now, but hopefully I'll be able to think of some on your next update.

03 March 2005, 02:46 PM
Shaykai - Yeah man where you been? Just pushed me off the side eh? ( just kidding ).Thanks for the observation though, I think I get all that accessorizing (sp?) and matching from the wife :scream:

03 March 2005, 06:56 PM
I leave for a few days and you've gone modelling crazy! Looking good KM...Looking good:thumbsup:

03 March 2005, 07:04 PM
NIce model kidmesh.

going very well.

03 March 2005, 07:22 PM
zooming ahead! :) Nice work kidmesh :bounce:

03 March 2005, 11:37 PM
Hey Anthony, looking good man  I like your whole concept I reckon it's going to turn out wicked eh! Looking forward to seeing the scene put together....gOOd luck with it dude L8rz...

03 March 2005, 11:42 PM
cool modelling steps!
go on man!:)

03 March 2005, 02:02 AM (

Umm...ok before anybody starts with the "Dog" jokes. I am following the concept art for crying out loud. Now I know it looks like a dog now but once he or it is textured and rigged with the ears up....ah forget it.

I will work on tweaking this and coming up with a face that is "Gremlin" like, but I can't help but follow the concept art initially.

03 March 2005, 02:07 AM
nice mesh. love the expression now...hes scared of you =/

03 March 2005, 02:14 AM
Well the last few days were enjoyed because it was the holiday weekend which meant I had a four day vacation. That allowed me to really move kinda quickly and I knew I needed to take advantage of that time. Now it's back to work and back to managing my time wisely by at least doing a little something everday. In a nutshell, my updates proably wont be as frequent like 3 to 4 a day as before....proably just 1 a day until the weekends

Troof - LOL, the poor thing....we will see how scared or suprised I can morph him/it later :)

goktug - Thanks sir!

blackdragonCG - Im hoping the scene comes out wicked too :)

stripe - Yeah zooming cause I didnt have to work the last couple of days!

jimBoekestien - I appreciate the comments alot, thanks

Darkskills - We if that's the reciepe for success for me, go a few days each week until the contest is over :scream:

03 March 2005, 02:23 AM
Nice fun looking concept you've got there! And a nice looking model you've got there! Hope to see more of your progress soon! :D Good luck!

03 March 2005, 02:28 AM
Great Job on modeling the theif. It came out great! I like the character styles you developed, and the idea is well thought out. Good luck on the dog character, looking great so far.:)

03 March 2005, 02:39 AM
Ravendsg - Thanks, checked out your comp those anime style sketches

Sleepinglion - Im really glad you think so, your modeling skills are way up there which lets me know I still have a ways to go but the compliment means alot :)

03 March 2005, 02:58 AM
i chekt your concept again and i can see were you are going, keep up the good work, see you mate and

03 March 2005, 02:59 AM
letme add one:)

03 March 2005, 03:07 AM
Well done's great sticking to the concept and all.....but dont corner yourself have every right to expand or tweak your original ideas, with time this can be for the best many times.......I sure like your progres....looking mighty nice.....:arteest:

03 March 2005, 06:48 AM
stunning progress  congrats :wip:

03 March 2005, 08:10 AM
Hi Kid Mesh,

Your Thief is vry well done, looking forward to see him textured.
Good start on your servant too.
Keep it up ;)

03 March 2005, 09:12 AM
Hi Anthony,

This is what i call PROGRESS! Awesome speed and smooth workflow. I like these characters too. Your servant is also on a good start!

03 March 2005, 12:05 PM
Wow, thanks guys the support mechanism in the CGTALK community is really awesome. We all get lost in a world of polygons and vertices for hours on end at times. But it's nice to know that when you submerge your work reveals at least a half decent job that is reflected in your peers comments. This is really one of those times where you care what people say. Thank you :)

alex.h - Thank you, glad you went and looked as I hoped to prove I wasnt crazy lol

the1st_angel - :) Thanks

Virtuoso - I know exactly what you mean man, I guess from a judges standpoint I wanted to make sure that they realized non of these models had ever been modeled before and that I was starting from scratch. But I will proably refine them in places where I hope it is a visually marked improvement. Thank you for the kind words.

jddog - Thanks man, just trying to do a little each day.

ninox - Your Fallen King is looking awesome man, thanks for the compliment as Im looking forward to the texturing part as well.

Tremoside - Yeah, since I work during the week I was kinda nervous about how to manage, wife, kids, dog, I felt like my productivity would lax a little. But I budgeted sometime (made a deal with the wife). So hopefully things will move smooth during the week :)

03 March 2005, 12:12 PM
Great progress Kid Mesh :applause:

03 March 2005, 03:59 PM
This is coming on real good - your doggys expression is priceless. He will be a great companion to your thief. Very well done

03 March 2005, 04:08 PM
Wow Kid M you sure pushed the tempo here. Nice start on the servent. Lookin forward to see em in a scene together

03 March 2005, 10:02 PM
woof, thats ugly!

joking, its good so far, but I think the jaw is too far down, Ill have to look at the ref again to be sure though. I can definatly see the "concept" but it doesnt match it quite exactly.. :) just keep tweaking bro!

EDIT: kk im looking at the concept now and I am seeing that the jaw isnt as far down as it is in the model. also it looks like you have bigger eyes in the concept, I think that would definatly add in your model :) and you need a stonier profile ;) haha but then again thats just your drawing style :p

Great job so far!

03 March 2005, 01:13 AM (

Here is just a very rough & quickie update on the servant character. I still havent had a chance to re-tweak the face...yet. But my goal is to get the body modeled so I can rig both him and the master by the weekend.
This guy is going to have arms that are a little bit longer than his legs. His movement style is chimp like and so is his posture when standing...I hope this helps you to visualize the style of creature "it's supposed to be" :)

Back to pushing verts.

03 March 2005, 01:25 AM
Geta-Ve - LOL, man your killing me right now!...stickler for the details but that's cool hehe. Yeah Im going to try and work it out really I am. My main goal atm is to just get the majority of the stuff modeled and rigged so I can have time for texturing and composition. The more time I have on the back end to tweak the better...if I start tweaking too much now, the perfectionist in me will slow me down :D

3dRaven - Yeah me too, Im hoping my idea was sound lol.

Gunilla - Could you please tell that to Geta-Ve...Please? LOL j / k Geta - Thanks dude :)

03 March 2005, 01:56 AM
looking good so far!

Yeah, your goblin is looking a bit like a dog atm, but that's not a problem at this stage. finish roughing that little bugger out, then tweak away! :wip: (maybe he should look more like a small monkey?)

I'm liking your wireframe views quite a bit. The fact that I can see how you've arranged your edge loops helps me out with my much messier model. :banghead:

Looking forward to more!

03 March 2005, 02:12 AM
hahahaha :D

I just want you to do your best man  Though I gotta realize my style is not everyone elses working style :D

maybe your pet can be my santas reindeer

03 March 2005, 02:48 AM
Wintermute - Glad the wires are helping man, it's all about sharing. Funny thing is that some people think wires are some type of secret squirrel or something lol. It's all in the wrist baby, all in the wrist.

Geta-Ve - LMAO :scream:

03 March 2005, 03:09 AM
It's all in the wrist baby, all in the wrist.

BOY you ain't kiddin :D

03 March 2005, 03:29 AM
BOY you ain't kiddin :D

Hi Kid Mesh you're absolutely kikkin it here:thumbsup:
I reckon you could get away with adding a tail to this lil critter, his buttocks look a little bare at the mo.
Keep it coming

03 March 2005, 11:53 AM
A little tail would fit him nicely. Good progress on the body....can't wait till he gets some Popeye arms

03 March 2005, 08:38 PM
Progressing nicely. Can't wait to see how you tweak the servant:thumbsup:

03 March 2005, 01:40 AM
Looks pretty good. I've got one critique the chin looks like it goes out too far. Hope we get to see an update soon.

03 March 2005, 01:52 AM (

Well...I took the "dog" out to play fetch and threw the ball really far...he's gone now LOL.

Honestly, I wasnt feeling that character style for the servant especially after looking at my Master Character. I mean my master guy is supposed to be this kick a-- rogue wizard thief type. What the heck would he look like paired up with scooby doo??....I wasnt about to let that happen.

Anyway, the style of character I want for the servant is more like this one here. So today I can home started over and started to shoot for a Gollum type character as in my concept art....but without the canine facial features :)

03 March 2005, 03:53 AM (

Well I was about to call it a night until I popped into 3DRavens thread....pfftt this guy is knocking out a character in a couple of hours!!!

Although I have to work in the a.m. I pressed forward :) This is just a early shot of the new servant and body.

In my concept picture, I actually have the master lowering im down with a chain around his neck!?!?!....that's killing him LOL. So I figured a harness would be more humane :)

That's it for tonight, should have more updates tommorow.

03 March 2005, 05:04 AM

Honestly, I don't like the look of the pet now. I liked it more when he was innocent looking, that enhanced the whole "master protecting his pet" type thing.. because now it looks like the pet could kick some serious ass with kung fu or something, look at those eyes, hes like "I know im bad ass, want a piece of me FREAK!?"

lol :D

I dunno, I think your straying a bit too far from your concept, which I personally liked alot.

As for the harness/collar thing, why not just have the pet holding ON to the rope himself, with his 2 feet and one arm (spider man anyone?) and grabbing the I mean jewel with his free hand (so he would ne upside down you know?)

also another idea is give him LOONNNGGGGGGGG ears that are pulled back behind his head and that curl at the end... :D

The pet doesn't look friendly anymore

Anyways, still good work......I GUESSSSS :D:D Nah man its great work, just I don't like the current design of the pet too much :)

03 March 2005, 05:10 AM (

Time check! 48 days, 18 hours, 52 minutes, 42 seconds....must keep grinding!!!

With that being said, I couldnt call it a night. Especially after one of my friends messaged me and said my last update was spot on but the harness looked like a friggin sports bra!

Now that would have had me tossing and turning all night thinking about that statement, so I decieded to go ahead and detail the harness aka "Sports B" so I could sleep!

03 March 2005, 05:17 AM
Geta-Ve - LMAO :scream: ... I know man, the dog was cute and cuddly and innocent and furry and all that other @#$% but it's one of those deals where if your looking at him all day and you just dont like it....see there is this button next to the " \ " key called "Delete" LOL.

Naw seriously, it was never my intention to have a cutesy type character, I was going for some sort of gremlish type. But you just going to have to trust me on this, once I pair these two up together...JAK and Daxter better watch it  and you will see what I am trying to accomplish. But your comments no matter how slanted towards your love theme you got going in this compo hahaha is very much appreciated dude.

03 March 2005, 05:29 AM
he reminds me of will smith somehow hehe, great job with the modelling. I would suggests more wrinkles to his skin, or maybe scales? Anyway, great job so far dude!

03 March 2005, 05:49 AM
:D:D What can I say Im a romantic at heart!

But ya I trust you man... Well as far as I can throw you at least.. ;)

But I see what you mean by the Jak and Daxter thing, Im getting you now :)

Keep it up man!

03 March 2005, 05:51 AM
Lol.. good job on the Goblin finish, and yes, awesome job on the harness. Indeed, jak and daxter has nothing on these two. Great duo man.

03 March 2005, 06:39 AM
You just changed one up on us, next tiem give us a warning. Great model, but...i think he looks a bit too human even though we can tell he's not human (not a normal one atleast). Maybe he could be a bit more creaturish.

03 March 2005, 07:14 AM
The plot thickens. Maybe give the servent a small pair of horns?? He'd seem les human and would show he's not so innocent... Nice work on the model good clear egde loops

03 March 2005, 07:35 AM
modelling is looking really good..

about the harness - maybe remove the center area and have staps going across it so that it doesn't look like a bra, just a thought

03 March 2005, 08:03 AM
Looking good! I'm digging the new harness setup. Looks like you're making it into a sort of backpack at the same time..places to stash the loot he snatches for his master.

Very cool!

03 March 2005, 01:07 PM
Ravendsg - LOL, dont tell him that!

Geta-Ve - But of course you are man :) Thanks for the trust

Sleepinglion - mucho appreciated, mucho appreciated

ace4016 - Sorry about that lol, yeah Im going to work on making him more creature-ish (sp?) especially with the texture work.

3dRaven - Yes the plot has thickend, and horns sound like a kiss arse idea, some mini ones

Versiden - LOL, another bra comment. But I see what your saying...thanks.

Wintermute - Yep thats the idea, thanks sir!

03 March 2005, 07:47 PM
HAHA ive been idle for a little bit...but now he doesnt look dogish hahaa...reall nice character. i lov ehim so far

03 March 2005, 09:18 PM
Oh a fellow LW guy. Go strong dude. Represent! Models looking good allready. Nice.

03 March 2005, 09:22 PM
hehe thats nice morphed to goblin with what else are u cooking up!:)
btw nice modeling....:) ! and no can i? !

04 April 2005, 02:03 AM (

Well here is the servant character, with purposely longer arms than legs. Currently I have him modeled to the point that I can stay on track with my current timeline to start rigging him and the master by the weekend.

Although, I plan on adding some more details to the hands and feet, he is almost good to go....God only knows I wish that I could use ZBrush cause Id throw him right in there.

04 April 2005, 02:06 AM
Troof - Glad you like it man :)

Brent3D - Same goes for you too, your "Big Guy" looks awesome.

yunisirees - Yeah, doggie had to go bye bye, but Im glad your digging it

04 April 2005, 02:38 AM
Kid, You're speedy!!

wow... congrats, very clean meshes!

I'll be watching close... :scream:

04 April 2005, 02:49 AM
Nice work on the servant/pet. I wonder what the scale is to the master. Oh, and does he have ears?

04 April 2005, 02:56 AM
hey dude.. models really clean and very cool man.. your sticking to your style and i admire that.. great stuff.. would love to see more keep postin man.. looking great..

04 April 2005, 01:17 PM
mosconariz - Hey thanks, appreciate your comments and you checking in :)

ace4016 - I actually have the ears yet to do, but in regards to the scale compared to the master, this guy will be just a little bit bigger than a full grown baboon.

Neeno - Thanks :D Hopefully if I get finished rigging this weekend I can start modeling the environment.

04 April 2005, 01:28 PM
That's good modelling Kidmesh!

Your all progressing so damn fast I feel kinda woozy.

04 April 2005, 04:18 PM
hmmmm riggin ay... Have fun!! lol... i hate rigging.. luck it wasnt a milestone.. and they better not change their minds about making it a milestone... good luck dude great stuff i'll say again...

04 April 2005, 04:27 PM
Nice update on the character..the body seems a little long though...almost makes him look like a lizard..maybe that's a good thing his feet would match :) Happy rigging....

04 April 2005, 10:10 PM
I like those proportions..I like this creation......Stylish and fun......Well done Anthony.....Doing a real fine job' s fastlane good.....Keep it coming strong....:arteest:

04 April 2005, 10:14 PM
Nice model. Proportions are unusual but original. Did you start the second one?

04 April 2005, 10:25 PM
jmBoekestein - LOL, thanks man...If it werent for my day job everything I need to model would have been done already

Neeno - Yeah, rigging is cool once you do it enough times, but thank your for your comments :)

3dRaven - True about the lizard thing...On this model I defintley wanted the arms a little longer than the legs and model him kinda slender. Truthfully who knows what the hell a magical beast looks like? Unless its a typical look it could look like anything.

Virtuoso - I appreciate it man, still wish I could drop him into see ZBrush and create a displacement map for it, add some veins etc...oh well maybe next compo :)

morgan - Unusual yes lol, and if you are referring to the "Master" the answer is yes...finished him first.

04 April 2005, 11:01 PM
very nice models. i like especially the servant.

04 April 2005, 12:59 AM
Nice job Anthony!

You are making the rest of us look lazy man :)

04 April 2005, 01:04 AM (

Well here they are together as currently modeled. I havent sized the creature as he is going to be in relation to the master. But the creature will be about the size of a "Baboon" a bit bigger than a chimp.

Just wanted to get this shot out here before the rigging started.

looking forward to more!

04 April 2005, 07:54 PM
Slacking off I see? Pathetic! PATHETIC! You wretched mongrel!

Nice stuff so far man. I love those hands on the pet, very groovy. I dont particularly like the length of the pelvis/torso, makes the legs look soooo short. when I personally see the legs to be a bit longer.. or at least the torso shorter. Just looks weird to me. You know?

And those toes are weird... Give him 2 toes instead (e.g. ninja turtle toes) those would rock. because these three toes look weird all out and bent to the side. Reminds me of that guy on scary movie 2 haha.

Anyways, honestly though your doing a great job, you just have to add more hearts, and love and... oops.. :D

04 April 2005, 02:40 AM
Tsk tsk tsk...Slacking off are we?

So now its off to modeling the environment this week...Hope your weekends were enjoyable :)

monsitj , blackdragoncg, Admiral Ra, DaddyMack, 3dRaven, DarkSkills, Virtuoso, jmBoekestein, Wintermute, Geta-Ve, Admiral Ra, Troof, jddog, inbata

For that many people to have replied in my thread before me shows that I was just a tad busy :scream:

Thanks fella's...Hopefully I wont run into a snag like that again (Crosses fingers). All in all though it was a productive weekend!

04 April 2005, 01:41 AM

04 April 2005, 01:52 AM
Neeno - Hey thanks very much, it was a @#$% getting to this point this weekend.

3dRaven - Yeah, Im going to start on the textures as so as I finish the environment :)

Virtuoso - Haha, yeah the little guy is cool but he is really BUTT UGLY all though it was done on purpose. Oh and by the look of Brutes Neck...I dont think my Guy wants any part of that!

04 April 2005, 02:02 AM
He's not butt ugly...he is beautiful in his own way....and very aggressive and fun to look at too......:arteest: love his pose.....

04 April 2005, 02:04 AM
Virtuoso - Yeah I guess your right...I bust out laughing just looking at him :D

04 April 2005, 03:21 AM
• Lot of progess since my last visit, great job with your characters, it seems u are almost there uh?, maybe some more definition in muscles will give an extra nice detail on them, about the servant, I liked the one in yor cocept sketch
Great work Anthony!

04 April 2005, 03:25 AM
Very cool looking characters. Very nicely done Anthony. Keep at it. Will be checking back.

04 April 2005, 03:29 AM! Looking real good. Now where's the textures:) ?

04 April 2005, 03:56 AM
Good show..great to see them together.:applause: Hows your texturing ideas coming along? Sure can't wait to see the turn out. Nice to see the gremlin finish also. I dred the day I have to rig my characters completely. But it seems you got the hang out of it, the poses look top notch so far.

04 April 2005, 03:58 AM
Nice going on the rigging. Funny pose the servant is in too. I'm hoping rigging will be painless for me, but I'm pretty familiar with max 6's bone system so it should be. Now they need coloring, I hope you have a better time adding textures and shaders then I do.

04 April 2005, 08:35 AM
Wow, these are really impressives! Great characterisation! Keep this quality! And thanks your comments on my thread. Good luck mate!

04 April 2005, 09:54 AM

Tremoside - Thanks and Im defintetly gonna try.

overcontrast - LoL, yeah everyone wants textures
