Hi, I realy want to see this. Good idea.

Maybe you could give some speed to your image. A lot of people do great jobs, but the final images are to static...and this is not so good. Another camera can help too. Try do something like this "IMPACT" ... Good luck.

Work on it! And you will be on my favourite list!

04-07-2005, 11:29 AM
Good model I like it. Only maybe little to reduce size of head?

Keep up good work

04-07-2005, 11:40 AM
Nice progress JR.,
Just don't forget the references. You still have some big issues in the anatomy/proportion. Take a look in some anatomy references even if you are planning to make something not totally realistic. Your work don't need to be realistic but taking care of these issues surely your character will be believable and this is a important part of character design
The main problem is the very big head, more cartoon like, and the body kind of more realistic.

Keep it up :wip:

04-07-2005, 05:48 PM
I adored the hair. I still didn't assimilate the shirt. I will expect more innovations to have more vision on the subject. I liked the concept. Something very American. I am accompanying the topic.

Here is the first test in texture of the indian´s face. He is painted for war, that´s because is a little white. ;-)

04-07-2005, 07:09 PM
Thanks for the tips. I will review the proportions. I don´t wanna to do something 100% realistic, just something believable.

04-07-2005, 07:09 PM
Nice text braz!

04-07-2005, 07:48 PM
nice texture Braz,

Mecman is right in relation to painting in the face, it seems that it was done with the fingers

04-07-2005, 08:46 PM
Hi again JR.BRAZ, coming along really well...My only real suggestion is to try and get some depth to thos wrinkles, like he's spent his life in the sun...

04-07-2005, 10:33 PM
:wip: unga taga, truga lunga karanaga singa, punga ñanga panga ,sondega traga langa

Hi BRAZ! Nice progress! I'm liking the textures work man! Your style is unmistakable hehehe keep it up friend:thumbsup:

04-08-2005, 05:27 AM
Hey it's coming along nicely. I'd like to see his skin darker, as in the sketch. I also really miss the little smile he had going. :) It really added a sense of pride.

The texture gave an enormous life for the model. The road is this, it continues strong.

Sorry for not answer each one, but I´m working now in a new uptade for the image. I´ll be back soon. :)

04-14-2005, 11:35 PM
Heya JR.BRAZ, i really like the texture, but, as kris also apointed, you can improve the modelling of your character.

Abração cara! continua tocando ai que quero ver esse up q ta pra sair!

Here is a new (and very fast) sketch for the composition ... I think the master and the servants is more integrate in the scene and relationship is more evident.

04-15-2005, 01:20 PM
hi Braz,
nice sketch, the composition of the scene will be very good.

good look

c ya !

04-15-2005, 09:33 PM
fala braz

Here is a fast sketch, to visualize the character with the acessories ...

04-16-2005, 03:35 PM
Thanks everybody for the comments

Kanga, thanks man. The design was inspired in a real american indian knife.

arlutik, thanks for the suport :)

dcmoutinho. Thanks. Take a new look at now. I think the acessories give a plus in the image. About the feather in the knife, I don´t know ... I don´t wanna to cover the details in the knife ... But I added a lot of feathers in other places now ... Tell me what you think now. :)

More comments and critics are always welcome

04-16-2005, 08:05 PM
Very good concept, let the Great Sprit always with you:)!!! Modelling keeps it going good also..:thumbsup:but I don't think a north American native wears a shrunk skull:wise:

04-18-2005, 03:20 PM
very nice Braz !
I liked the texture of the belt.

good look

Joao Roberto:

Congratulation for the attitude of your participation. Your idea is very good (why not a brazilian scene, with indians... anyway works!), and i only tell you to be careful in the hands, try to put more natural movement... The rest is going very well! Why dont you try pictures of several bisons in the background... Go for it man!

04-19-2005, 01:14 PM
Wow JR.BRAZ, the render looks great mate:thumbsup: Well done pulling all that texturing together, and I think the details are really fitting to your concept...

Keep it up man, this is really moving along!

04-19-2005, 01:22 PM
Very good!! :applause:

This scene is becoming very interesting ^^

The details and textures ares very good but i think you need change the muscles of arms
give more details xD

The forearm need more details. the Indian is very strong... so muscles on him!!!

And you can rotate the shoulders too...put yourself in mirror... you will see the right pose
in this perspective looks like only shoulder is going to back ^^

Look this sample...

04-19-2005, 01:33 PM
Wow, the texturing looks so rich! Good job and keep going.

04-19-2005, 01:42 PM
Great update braz!! The accessories looks great!! I didn´t like the arm textures...but it´s in progress yet right?

And here is the render of the new pose

04-19-2005, 07:13 PM
Good modeling and great texturing work, te pose is good although i think that he seems watching in a different direction (above) of where he points
Good luck!

04-19-2005, 08:18 PM
Hey Braz. Excellent render. Very good!!!
Say me somethnig... Do you use reactor to make these clothes?

Bye. And good luck!

04-20-2005, 03:26 PM
jajaja that skull is very nice:D

04-20-2005, 04:34 PM
Hey, with the details is much bether. I think you can try another textures on the pents, you know, a man like that with a clean yellow pents? Another thing that can be bether is the arms and hands, but i know you may not change at this time. What about some expressions on that face? What is your plan for the animals? do you already have some models? Keep going.

04-20-2005, 07:07 PM
great job brazz.. mto bom velho.. kero ve os bufalos agora.. hehe

t + boa sorte !

04-21-2005, 01:59 AM
hi Braz, great render !!!

04-21-2005, 04:28 AM
I really liked your idea. Finally one work in the contest without monster ...

The modelling and the textures are great.

04-21-2005, 07:43 AM

04-21-2005, 08:25 PM
Hi all, thanks for the comments.

Maxter. Tks. Yeah, you right. I´ll change this in the next update.

Silvio Peters, hi. I don´t use reactor, because I´m using XSI ... The deformation in the cloths is made in modeling. No simulation.

melkao, hehehe. Thanks man.

banzato, The pants is really too clean .. I will change this too in the next update. About the animals, I will begin to model the bisons in the weekend ...

gra7. Thanks.

Here is another sketch. I think I will follow this one until the end. I like the colors and the balance of the composition. Tell me what you think :)

04-22-2005, 06:11 PM
The buffalo near the rock seems to break up the flow a bit (maybe it's just because he's darker)...he draws too much attention now.

Nice colors (I like them saturated too :) )

04-23-2005, 12:48 AM
Woaaaaaa i think that it will be a great image !!! I just love american indians. Good luck (or in portuguese Boa sorte rapaz !) !

04-23-2005, 12:50 AM
hey nice progress:thumbsup:

04-23-2005, 02:59 AM
great sketch, the composition has everything to be very beautiful, those buffalos will feel work, hehehe...

good look

04-24-2005, 03:51 AM

Very Cool idea!

Shouldn't the Buffalo be a bit bigger though?

04-24-2005, 03:23 PM
Hey Joao,

I really like the last concept you posted, I like the feel of the image as a whole. One thing I think I would have the buffalo to the left of the Master looking at the viewer or the master instead of the one on the right side of the image looking at the viewer . I think this would make the image work better but that is just my opinion.
Great job so far.

04-27-2005, 04:56 PM
Great advance in colors! Hope that you can do all... Good luck!

Here is a update in the background. I know, the grass need more work ... But the modeling is finish.

04-27-2005, 06:07 PM
Thanks everybody for the support and for the tips. I made a lill change in the proportions of the composition. Now the ground is bigger than in the sketch. I will improve some details like the grass and test another ilumination too.

The next step is model the bisons. After finish the bisons, I will test again the composition, to find a better position to then all.

04-27-2005, 06:44 PM
I like the perspective on the character.

04-27-2005, 07:27 PM
Hello J.R.BRAZ. its scene this very good... good luck.....

04-27-2005, 07:33 PM
nice composition and lighting! remind me of warcraft cinematic!,
some suggestion is your grass is too green! maybe it's wip
good luck:thumbsup:

04-27-2005, 07:34 PM
yeah man...thas proggerssing in a very cool escene.
but where's the eagle and the other animal?

04-28-2005, 03:44 AM
Really nice update Braz! I liked composition and colors too... welldone.
Keep on going man!!!:bounce:

04-28-2005, 03:46 AM
wow!! this is coming along so much from the original concept looking good... work a litle more on lighting i think.. still a wip so.. keep it up!

04-28-2005, 10:37 AM

continua ae... :bounce:

Hi, this is a composition test with the animals. The bison is just for layout, I will start the modelling soon ...

04-28-2005, 03:46 PM
Nice Braz!! nice!!
the scene is very, very beautiful!! Nice colors!
I didn´t like the grass, the grass near the stone is great, but the others is a bit weird!
anyway, great work with the background!
Keep it up mate!!

04-28-2005, 03:47 PM
ciscoleal, thanks.

B-MAX TALK, thanks man.

monsitj, yeah, is inspired in warcraft cinematic and the lion king movie :)

melkao, here are the animals :). The previous image is just to show the background modeling. I will start to model the bison soon.

Wandddo, thanks for support. Valeu.

Neeno, I still work in lighting, this render is just a WIP ... just to test the layout with all together .. Thanks.

MadnesS.

manikantkujur, thanks

04-28-2005, 03:50 PM
Nice Braz!! nice!!
the scene is very, very beautiful!! Nice colors!
I didn´t like the grass, the grass near the stone is great, but the others is a bit weird!
anyway, great work with the background!
Keep it up mate!!

Hey Mec, we post at same time .. heheh

Yes, the grass still horrible :D .. I´m still working in the grass and in the lighting of the environment .. Soon I will post the update. I rendering the new version right now. :bounce:

04-28-2005, 04:04 PM
I'm digging the idea man. :)

I'm wondering if the horizon line is too high for the perspective you have. The camera angle is very dramatic and I dig it but I think the background needs to drop slightly. Just a suggestion. I can't wait to see more

04-28-2005, 04:21 PM
Yeah, your work is bether with the enviroment. I only think that the animals could be run, this could give more action feeling to your scene. Another thing that im looking is the color, i think you can put a generic color in the scene. The color of the front rocks is not the same of the background rocks, i think this is a litlle strange. Keep going.

04-28-2005, 05:43 PM
Hey JR.BRAZ :) .. Great Work Man... It´s been a long time I´ve been checking your thread but I havent left my comments here... but now it´s time.. rsssssss... Keep it Up Bro.. You are doing a great job in the challenge... Congrats Fella  !!!

04-28-2005, 05:46 PM
Nice concept. The relationship of men with animals is a good idea.

Good luck in the challenge.

Hi, I made a lill changes in the composition before start the bison modeling. I made some changes in the stone and in the ilumination of the background.

04-28-2005, 07:12 PM
Thanks for the tips se7enthcin and banzato. I drop down the horizon .. is really better now.

neo_sk8rider e msteinert, thanks for the support

I like very much man! Good Texture and light

04-29-2005, 03:47 AM

04-29-2005, 12:35 PM
great composite Braz !
I am anxious to see the buffalo.

good look

04-29-2005, 12:47 PM
Very nice !!!

04-29-2005, 04:26 PM
It's looking great!! I think that you should check the scale between all the charecters though!!

04-29-2005, 04:33 PM
Hey thats getting very nice..i think that the small lizard is a detail very cool.
by the way, the biso will be green in the final image?, beacuse i think that this color for this animal...well maybe put other texture for him?

04-29-2005, 05:05 PM
Hi, thanks all comments

mmaxx, thanks.

arlutik, thanks. I hope so. :D

dcmoutinho, valeu cara.

infinita. Thanks. Obrigado.

pBarrelas, thanks Paulo. Yeah I will check this.

melkao, hi melkao. The bison will not be green .. hehe ... I was post this image just for layout ... and the bison was just a reference photo. But I begin to model the bison now. Take a look in the next post. :)

Here is another test, now with 2 bison .. what composition is better? with 1 or 2 bisons?

04-29-2005, 08:25 PM
Two bison as long as they have very different poses, great work

04-30-2005, 02:16 AM
hi braz, great modeling:thumbsup:

- eu acho que com 2 bisão ficaria bem legal, mas seria intereçante eles estarem com posições diferêntes...

um abraço

i like the brighter version

e manda bala!!

05-03-2005, 05:44 PM
hey man i like a lot the new composition....the bear in the place of the other biso. And the background is cool. Good Work:thumbsup:

05-03-2005, 06:07 PM
This last one is the better composition :applause: :applause:

05-03-2005, 06:33 PM
Hey, good job.
Is much bether now but is a little strange a bear in that end of the world hehe, but the decision is yours. Before i tought that he was the king of bisons and now i think he is tarzan haha but is cool, keep going. Only one thing im looking in your last composition... contrast diferences and the color of the central rock, floor and grass. I think this 3 elements could have more brown color.

Go go go... show us more. Good work.

05-03-2005, 09:11 PM
Hi everybody, thanks for comments

praguer28, thanks. Now I start to model the bear. The last one miss to complete the scene :)

todesco, thanks. I´m in doubt about what composition is better ... I think the second one, could pass more emotion, because show us a battle against the darkness ... :) ... but the first show more action ...

melkao, thanks. Yes, like the bear too. So I will star his the modeling soon.

ldgree, thanks.

banzato, yes, the original ideia, was to be something like the "king of the bisons" :) ... but like others peoples say before, and I think was right, the shamans controls the spirits of the forests (the spirits is every thing is alive) so I decide to take some animals of that region, like the bisons, the eagle, the falcon, the brown bear (yes they live in same place of the ancient american indians) and a little lizard, and put all then together in one scene. I´m don´t know .. really could be more like a tarzan than a shaman, but I think with many animals is better than use just bisons ...
And yes you right about the central stone, the floor and grass .. I will improve the colors diferences and some details in modeling... Thanks for comment.

05-04-2005, 02:08 PM
It is looking great!

The planet on the upper left is the moon, right? Have you considered making the dark side totally dark and add some craters to the light side? My first impression was that it was another planet like the earth, so the scene was in a different world, not ours.

I like the clothing on the guy and the animals very much!

05-04-2005, 03:57 PM
ae brazuca!!!:scream:

05-04-2005, 10:04 PM
Hi all,

fer3d, yeah you right ... the moon is looking like another planet ... I will change this. Thanks.

matheus_bristol, opa, blz? Valeu.

05-04-2005, 11:45 PM
Nice composition!

Good job!!

05-05-2005, 03:33 AM

Your scene is looking great, the fur on the animals is looking great. The modeling of these new animals looks well done too. I wouldn't mind seeing a bit more of the distant landscape, just a bit more would do.

Hi Braz!

Great Concept!
The bear is really interesting, as is the background - good atmosphere! Great terrain floor!
My two cents would be for the perspective! I think the bear should get a bit bigger - using the perspective!

Great job! Keep rocking and Good Luck!

Great update :bounce: I like the colors. Everything is really cool. I don´t know if is because the low resolution in render, but the indian is looking with a blur ... diferent from the other parts that are more sharpe ... If you could, post a render with higher resolution, should be this the "problem"

05-10-2005, 04:20 PM

the colours it's great ! the bear gave a new emotion the scene.

good look

05-12-2005, 03:39 PM
Congrats, Joao Roberto!

I like it. The close-up shows details I didn't appreciate before, such a carefully textured lizard.

I was thinking: There dark spots near the moon, suggesting high flying birds. But all other birds are white. The dark ones resemble falling meteorites or something like that. What if you place them lower in the sky, or make them whiter, or give them a slight flying bird silhouete, in order not to cause confusion?

Just an idea.

Congrats again and good luck to you.

05-12-2005, 04:06 PM
• Looking great Roberto! lots of detail, I just have two comments:

_The sky seems that is not lighting the scene, maybe use a red back ligth to see if it looks more integrated
_The texture of his pants are a bit simple compared to the overal detail

It looks very good anyway, sorry i hadn't see your thread before, but it is never late to congratulate the good work! Good luck Pal

05-12-2005, 04:46 PM

fer3d, thanks for the tips. I will make more test about.

Climax, hi, is good to see you here. Thanks for tips. I will add more details in pants. You not are the only one that says me this ... And about the light, I will make more tests ... Thanks.

Thanks.

Thanks again friends. Soon more updates. :D

05-13-2005, 02:56 AM
And he did it! Heya Braz! you did it man! impressive scene! Really like the colors and composition! Congratulation for your work man! Just curious about what you still going to do on this image!

Good luck mate,

Rafael Martinez

05-13-2005, 03:12 PM
Very goodd!!! i love the eagle ^^

For me its perfect... the one thing you can do is a test in indian pose..

All animals is looking for a place.. and the Xama is looking for sky...
you can put the vision of Xama in same direction just for a test..

05-13-2005, 03:48 PM
That bear is great! I love the animals! the eagle, bison and bear, you're doing a great job here... I'm not that convinced with the indian pants... maybe more bump texture...

and thanks for visiting my thread, your pumpkin rocks my place! :buttrock:
