But, I have a few Ideas that I am going to sketch down in the next few days.
Sorry that I let you guys wait, but work goes first!

@Fahrija: It's not that bad here. The Chinese do that since over 50 years. The situation is a lil' tense right now, but whatever. If something is going to happen I am outta here!!!

Good Luck Tommy, nice see you back!!:buttrock:

Ok,... Finally I had a lil time after work and before leaving for "SpringScream" over the weekend(Musicfestival near a famous beach in Taiwan) to meet some fellow tattoartists and chill out a lil'.
Here is my first and also last Conceptsketch. A few of you maybe remember my unfinished Machineflesh entry. I love this wierd and wicked "Behind the lookingglass"- universe, so I took a step back before the capture of Humpty Dumpty...

The Story:

As the final step to catch him, the madhatter enslaved somebody Humpty trusts... Alice!
After the madhatter drugged Alice at one of his infamous teaparties, he performed a rather wicked and sick surgery on her to get Alice under his control with a remote.
Enslaved but still aware of her actions she lured Humpty in a trap and slayed him. Near Death Humpty was thinking: " What happened to the land behind the lookingglas...?!"... then everything went black...

After doing a few of this Paintings, I am seriously thinking to make an illustrated book about my "Wonderland"... We'll see...

Dude! I was getting worried that we wouldn't see you until the end again :) Dude! This thing rocks. Only a couple of suggestion. There is a blade of grass, (tangent) that is tickling Humpty on his, should I say belly. :) The elbow of the Mad-hatter is rest on Alice's head. I absolutely love to see what you come up with. Outstanding, buddy

04-02-2005, 07:09 AM

04-04-2005, 12:20 PM
Very good Style!!.. Love the details and composition!!

04-04-2005, 03:20 PM
Hey, I know that guy from somewhere :scream:
An illustrated book would be cool, but be realistic, you won't have time for it with all that tatooing :scream: wich riminds me, I always wanted to ask you to post some of your tatoo-art... :bounce:

seamos realistas, exijemos lo imposible! :D

04-04-2005, 03:32 PM

Tommy Lee
04-04-2005, 09:18 PM (

Thanks for all your sugestions:)...
Finally I had some time to do the Lineart.
I used a fine japanese paintbrush-pen on transferpaper, scanned it in and cleaned it up.
Now I have my lines on a seperate layere and can start to do the basic shading.

@Slav: As said befor, color coming soon... thanks buddy!

@AirbORn: Not quiet ressurecting. I planning to do alot of "Behind the lookingglass"-illustrations, so this challenge fits pretty well for my wicked ideas. As said I really thinking about a book! Anyhow,... thanks buddy:)

Now that drips with style.............:arteest: .......I mean zesty stylish.....Looking forward to seeing this get even more zesty with the design.,idea, and execution.....Fastlane all the way.....:arteest:

04-05-2005, 06:37 AM
Ha, nice line art. It feels very classic fairy tale or something like that to me. Good job on this one so far.

04-05-2005, 08:10 AM
Lovely lineart! Great twisted style too. Looking forward to the coloring.

04-05-2005, 08:59 AM
i was wondering about alice's 'costume'... i was thinking to get the message across more effectivly that u need a more traditional costume on her. but im sure u thought of that... so what was ur reason for what she is wearing?

cant wait for colur... choosen a pallette?:arteest:

Tommy Lee
04-11-2005, 01:11 PM (

Finally found some time between work again. I did the basic shading to get some form going.
As you can see, first I put down the values and go from there into more details...

Hope to find time to update soon again. Work is killing me people:)

Tommy Lee
04-11-2005, 01:22 PM
Thanks for the comments people!:)

First I have to apologize that I haven't as much time as I wish to reply to your entries. I hardly find the time to work on my image right now:sad: ...
But I am following my favorites as much as I can....

@Virtuoso: Thanks man. But I wish it would be a much faster "fast-lane"!

@francis001: Wow. Thanks man, thats a big compliment from a master like yourself:)

@Art2: Thanks for stopping by. Hope I find time soon to finish shading and go for the colors...

@tilite: You see, I wanna do a total different Wonderland universe. The only thing basically the same are the names and a rough appereances. All characters are dressed nearly the same way, like patients in an mental asylum.
About the pallete,... I am not sure yet, but I think I go for a really bright, sunny summer aftyernoon to give the scene a very morbid feeling:twisted:

I hope I come back with updates soon

Cheerz and thanks for the support

04-11-2005, 01:24 PM

04-11-2005, 02:02 PM
it is a very good workflow u r doing, many people underestimate the overall value of chracters and go straight for the details, great work!

04-11-2005, 02:14 PM
Hey, Tommy! Looking good! You have a nice, clear sense of depth going on here. I love the face that her eyeballs are pointing in different directions, it rally works for her in the servant role. Can't wait to see what colors you choose....

04-11-2005, 03:02 PM
I love your perfect and grotesk stile! Great update!

I'll keep my eyes on you...

04-19-2005, 08:16 PM
You have a really awesome style Tommy. One of the best cartoon styles I've seen. Your shading is incredible.

04-22-2005, 07:56 AM
I love the composition Tommy! It is a very moody image. Cool interesting characters with great design.
Maybe that the dead guy is a little hard to distinguish, but that might be solved when you get down to the coloring.

So comon! Lets see some updates here soon :D

04-22-2005, 03:22 PM
Loved your GSO entry and this looks wonderfully twisted.

Only crit is that from this pov I think Humpty should be much bigger, maybe taking up the bottom 1/4 of the picture. Right now he's about the size of one of those dancing California raisins. If you're worried about obscuring Alice, she could plant a foot on Humpty's chest and rest the axe head on her bent knee.

I envy how you can juggle projects like you do. Can't wait to see this with color.

04-22-2005, 11:30 PM
V interesting concept man ! Congrats ! Nice drawings also! Can't wait to see the final one ! i'keep an eye on ya ! Cheers! GL ! :D

04-23-2005, 02:07 AM
This is SERIOUSLY brilliant work! Wonderfully whimsical and dark character designs, excellent composition and twisted concept... I LOVE IT!!! :applause:

Great lighting study on this too. Can't wait to see some colour!

Oh, and I hear you about work... it'll be the death of us all :D

04-25-2005, 01:33 PM

Thanks for all your comments.

I am very sorry, but I can't update as I wish. Right now I am tattoing nearly 14 hours a day.
I am also guesttattoing in another town beginning end of next week so I am away from my PC over the deadline.

Cheerz and all your entries look great so far. I am looking at each one of them from time to time, but have not really time to comment.
I hope I'll find some time:scream:
