Thanks, Tristan. Hope to see some great work from you :)

Well, I had some time this morning to punch out some ideas in Painter... it's much easier to make broad changes digitally; it save a lot of paper :) I'm going to do a lot of little studies to flesh out designs, and then do final designs on paper.

Here are some quickies (didn't upload them as milestones because they're just little brainfarts):

The basic premise is that there will be two characters, Tim and Dim, who are involved with bank robberies, murder, and other illegal activities. Tim is the tiny one, the brains behind the operations, while Dim is the larger one, who is tiny in intellect but large in size. I thought it'd be fun to do somewhat of a classic theme (the juxtaposition of brains vs. brawn, such as in Of Mice and Men, etc.), and show Dim's suffering under Tim (the last image is a quick concept of Dim crying).

Anyway, that's it so far... more coming when I have some free time. :)

Thanks Ali. Here's that update you requested :) Just some more doodling, playing around with shapes and ideas.

Thanks guys. Thought I'd switch over and flesh out Tim, the pint-sized dictator, some more.

Thanks again guys :)

Just some late-night doodling, trying to work out a composition. Lots of different possibilities in mind, so here's one of them. I don't think it shows the characters well enough, so I'll probably work on a few more.

nice idea, mjm....why u don't upload them as milestones? sketches are also necessary, afaik

I really like that last concept work..the colour and 'feeling' behind it are definitelly moving in the right direction. You could try a red doorway instead of yellow perhaps, although a little cliche' it might push for a different emotion...something harsher...but yellow works and is also more nuetral in it's meaning...which leaves it open to interpretation.

And making people think is a good thing in my opinion :)

Grimreaper1981: I think I'm only going to upload my final concepts as milestones. These are just doodles and ideas so far... Trying to find an appealing design.

Neomage: Thanks :) I'm not really happy with that layout, though. I'm thinking of a bank robbery scene right now, but it might not be as emotive as I planned. Still working that out.

Here's some more doodles of Tim:

Taking a break for a little while... hopefully some better ideas pop up.

tim needs more evil type of look on his face i think
