here's another little update...I just made and placed the wings on the body to test the position and scale. I think they're gonna need to be a little longer to accomedate all the wieght.

Ok everyone, IT'S ON! I just graduated this week and I'm ready to hit the real world. In the meantime, this would be a great project to get off on the right foot. Good Luck to all!

Well I've started some brainstorming this evening, and "Dragons" keeps popping into my head. I would like to not be so clicheish, but it's something that I would love to do and learn. And for some strange reason when I think dragon I think female, soo, I guess I will be doing a female sorceress, dragon summoner. It's kinda hard to get thing right so early because my head is thinking about many things at once: female, costume, dragon, environment, layout, composition. So I'm gonna take things one step at a time, and come up with some sketches soon. Hope to see everyone around, and Good Luck to all.

So I think I'm gonna start with the dragon. This is a concept sketch of the dragon head. I was also thinking about color too.

I love dragons, hope this one comes out great. Concept sounds nice, but hope you add something to make it unique from all the other female draogn tamers/summoners. I know how you feel with the ideas coming in many at one time. Good luck.

A little work on the dragon's head. I've been trying to get the basic shape modeled and then do details. I would love to learn zbrush and add the details there, but we'll see.

Spiro - Hey man, just a few crits from me, I think you should really try to get the style of the dragon head you had in your drawing to come out more in the 3d model.

I know its still early but it looks like your veering off in a different direction with your model? I really liked the style of the dragon head in the concept :)

I agree with Geta-Ve about the concept-translation. the basic shape in profile is falling a bit out of compactness, try to go for the concept proportions, cuz they look good.

About ZBrush: if your machine handles high poly counts without a problem, go on. model everythig that you plan to have into your final level of detail, but if polycount high give you troubles, optimizes your mesh to on the ubdivisionlevel 0 to the minimum required polys to describe a shape. zbrush subdivs will do the curvature, and another tip, try a well planed distribution. its much easier to work after that in ZB :)

Keep it up, Cheers

I know, I know, I know. I will, I will, I will! Don't worry, I didn't give up. It's just been really really stressful week. As I mentioned earlier, I just finished school sooooooooo......I've been putting some final touches on the compisiting.....authoring a DVD for menu's and stuff.......making business cards......DVD and VHS labels.......Updating my resume.....making 50 copies of DVD's and 50 VHS's.......I have a portfolio show on Tuesday....and my birthday was somewhere in the middle of this. So yeah, that's where I've been, but don't worry I will be back as soon as the madness is over. Just a few more days. Thanks for the encouragment everyone!

Hey hey all! I'm back! Well I was messin around with the hands today there about 50% finished. I think thats what I'm gonna do, is 50% finish everythin, and then do all the real details. I'm gonna do some tutorials and stuff to learn zbrush2 and hopefully will be able to use it.

I want it to look dinosaur-like with the small arms and hands, and then a hugh lower body. I think I'm gonna work on the wings next.

ohh nice, definatly an improvement over the one before. You should render with a white background for now as it makes looking at the details hard. Show us a wireframe too!

As far as I can tell right now its looking pretty cool :)

Yea, a lighter background would be better for wips, although I would recommend grey instead of white because sometimes white brightens out some detail. Anyways, I think the arms could be a bit beefier, but still just as short. Hope to see mroe updates soon.
