09-20-2002, 06:00 PM
could we get a wireframe of that please?

09-20-2002, 06:04 PM
hey this totally rox !!!!!!!!!!!!!

and yes, wireframe ,-)

Yeah ... looks real good, but I'm going to remain skeptical until I see wire frame, different angles and texture maps. Looks like a photo to me.

I have to agree. Im kinda skeptical about it also.

Well, this looks and sounds very much like a dragon fly posting we had a week ago. (In fact the same decription is given for the creation)

Sooo...... since this is 99.9% suspect as a photo I'll give gustavo a little time to show the wireframe, and disprove us unbelievers.

Well... if that's NOT a photo you did a godlike job on both texturing and modeling. Of course, there are a lot more fakes posted here than godlike renderings, so excuse our skepticism. :p

Now I'm at home, but Monday when I'll go to work I'll show you the wireframe, another render and the textures.

I agree this is excelent to the point of looking completly photorealistic. Wireframe please.

09-21-2002, 07:31 PM
Dudes, this is sooo fake...
Its exactly like the dragonfly post.
But if u can prove us skeptics wrong, your skill in handling textures, realism, and the tiny nuances is unbelievable.

09-21-2002, 07:39 PM
its not one photo may be a mix of cg and 2d the mantis is screaming image plane to me..if im wrong thats a huge comploment

It's not the textures that really stun me nor the modelling but the lightning, I know not any renderer that can show so subtle and realistic effects in translucency transparency etc...
If it's 3d, I guess you have retouched your render; or then 3dsmax5+lightracer is awesomely powerful. Your image have the realistic touch that 3d graphics always lack.
Eagerly waiting for proofs of your skill. An animation or different views with the same lightning should satisfy us. A wire will not.

09-21-2002, 11:36 PM
As my budy the monkey said : I wait for the wireframe ...

09-22-2002, 12:01 AM
want a wireframe...

Neural Riptide

It's a great image, but I agree with m@. I'd like to see a different angle (same pose) and not a wireframe

09-22-2002, 04:52 AM
Bravo gustavo ;D

09-22-2002, 05:19 AM
Very nice!Is it real? :applause: :applause:

09-22-2002, 10:26 AM
I dont think we'll hear something from gustavo anymore, at least not with some proof :annoyed:

09-22-2002, 11:21 PM
if thats cg everyone can hit me

09-22-2002, 11:31 PM
i know it's probably not real... but i just love hitting people for no good reason. so.... *whack*

09-22-2002, 11:46 PM
interesting detail, like the others I suspect it is a fake, and just a photo, but it would be the ultimate compliment if you proved us wrong with a wireframe

09-23-2002, 01:06 AM
Wow, What ........:surprised :surprised:scream: :D

09-23-2002, 01:55 AM
Hehe , no WAY that is 3d !!
Well i'd really be surprised if it was....
Amazing how everybody seems to scream "i want to believe" : we get fooled everytime :-)

09-23-2002, 10:53 AM
Now I show you two news renders and wireframe.

The background is a photo, but the rest is in CG

Take that!

the wireframe in a short animation

09-23-2002, 10:58 AM
a simple ligthtracer

hi gustavo

09-23-2002, 11:01 AM
Wireframe is different from so called """rendered """ shots.
Stop that gustavo , you 're ridiculous.

09-23-2002, 11:21 AM
I wanted to say something but I wont ...

Ok, I will :

What is your interest into making fakes, uh ? Do you think we are fools ? Just look at the spikes on the arm, they don't look like those in your "renders", do they ?

No more comments. :annoyed: :annoyed: :thumbsdow :annoyed: :annoyed:

09-23-2002, 11:28 AM
[Bad Boy Mode /ON]
Is that you on the 6th link of this page ( , uh ?[Bad Boy Mode /OFF]

Why did you do that, could we know ?

09-23-2002, 11:36 AM
Gustavo... go to the hXll!!!
Gustavo... aXX hole!!!
Gustavo... ma vvafffanculo!!!

09-23-2002, 11:42 AM
This is just wrong... is this what you spent your weekend creating?

I mean what's the benefit of trying to fool us? :curious:

seriously, you *really* believe we can't recognize a solid wireframe after the amount of hours 90% of us put in day in and day out?

It wasn't even a good effort I mean

- the jaw is way off
- the head isn't even attached
- the three segments of the legs aren't close to the photo's length
- the wings are waaaaaaaaay to long
- the spikes are wrong

man you can't even mimick the photo...

truly a very revolting and dishonest display to us professionals and other in the field... :annoyed:

09-23-2002, 01:30 PM
I just like to know why the moderators haven't removed this guy from the forums. This is a big waste of time.

09-23-2002, 01:43 PM
@ Gustavo

Well, it took a serious pair of brass balls to try and pull something like this off. Looks like you failed miserably. This is nothing more than a slap in the face of every hard working CG artist here.

Gustavo, just think, from now on everything you say and post will be suspect as a fraud. Not really a good way to introduce yourself to the community. You should have sucked it up and admitted the image as a fake rather than try and string it out.

Consider this thread closed. Any problems, PM me I’ll be more than happy to discuss them with you.
