How I can set precisely fade remain for for example 5 or 10 seconds. I know that I can set it in options as default fade but what if I wan t to change the fade in compostition because moving it in timeline isn't what I was looking for.

Sadly, there is no way.
If Sony made Vegas more closely fit with NLE standards, it could rock the house - but they haven't yet.

The best I have read that one can do is change your selection length, then use that as a guide for placing your transitions.
In the lower right corner of the timeline is three little TC windows. The furthest to the edge is "selection duration". You can type a value in there and it will set the selection area to match that duration.
You can then drag teh selection marker where you want as a reference.
This workaround is super lame, imo, and one of the reasons I use it as infrequently as possible. Basically a deal killer for me.
Not being able to nest sequences is also a huge disappointment.
