View Full Version : Painting in a Mask

03 March 2005, 05:52 PM
Hey everyone, I've been working on this for way too long. I've only been using After Effects for about a week. I figured it was time to beg for help.

Anyway, the question is this. I need to have a cerrtain part of a layer look like it is being painted in. I was hoping it was possible to do this with the paint effect, but I've had no luck so far. I'm trying to stay away from the scribble filter so please dont suggest it. The only thing that makes it difficult is the fact that you can't paint directly onto your composition window. I could just use the sillhouette luma blending mode if only I could see the frame I need to paint in instead of the one I need to paint out. Am I chasing the impossible dream here or what. Please help!
