I'm sure I have got this done before but I have this text

Year: 2060
New York City

I want it to animate it as if someone is typing it! any help?

Sorry my English
It is simple
Just go to Solids,
-then effects>path text
-Write your text in the Box
In Properties
-Change the line type from Bezier to Line
-Change the Color of the text
-Open the tab of Advance
-In "visible characters" turn on the clock
-After that just create a keyframe with a value of cero and then another keyframe with any value (the bigger the number the bigger the speed in which the characters are shown.

Any question, just ask.

In after 6.0 and 6.5, there's a built-in text animation for that.

Something like "typewriter" animation

Theres a Typerwriter preset for this in 6.5: In the Effect & Preset Window, choose Animation Presets > Text > Animate In > Typewriter.

Pinnacle Image Lounge/Text Typewriter is another and more dynamic option, not a standard plug though…
