Never done a self portrait of myself, so here's my attempt

I'm still getting to grips with how to blend colours in, though im sure i'll eventually manage it
Using some rough sketches from paper as my guide, and since its 7am in the morning when i started this, its safe to say the colours are'nt to accurate :)

i like the start with the lips...its coming out good....waiting for the next update with more facial features....:) try using a wacom tablet ..:)

Not made much progress today, not had time.

Having trouble getting skin tones/pigments etc. I think i like the way im doing it this now, but can any1 give some tips on how to make the skin look a bit more

Putting this on hold for now, just ordered my wacom intuos3 A4 ( so will play around with it till i get used to it, then continue on

nice start although it might be a good idea to make a sketch on the computer to work with, i normally try to have even a quick outline underneath everything so i know where everything goes. also you can catch a glimpse behind enayla's work if you goto her site and check out the nose tutorial (site found here ( i've looked into her work fairly often and its helped me a bit, she also has a few tips on skin tones and such. look up tutorials all over the web cause even if they're not about doing self-portraits they're still about drawing and can give you a general direction in developing your own style.
i'm sure everything will be much easier once your get your tablet, as i said its a nice start and pretty good for using a mouse, i know getting things how you want them with a mouse can be very difficult whereas using a tablet pen is basicly like using a pencil and paper, once you get used to the area they give you to work with. and once you get used to the pen pressure, hehe... i've seen people with tablets who press down VERY hard when just a light touch gets a good result. have fun!

After getting the time to practice a little with the wacom, here's a small update.

is there anything better i can do to merge my stubble in with my skin a little better? at the moment it looks like its just stuck there!
