The rules....

Welcome to the cgtalk sketch group.

We will try to post one of these topics once a day for your enjoyment.

These are the rules:
* Post only your FINAL piece on this thread, based on the topic on the thread.
* 640 x 480 / 480 x 640 OR 800 x 600 /600 x 800
* They can be done on any medium.
* If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
* Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing.
* The topics will be posted every day between 10:00 - 12:00 am US EST.
* The artist also has to post total length of time it took (Thanks Clanger for the idea) and program used.
* Only final pieces can be posted on the thread. They must have been done AFTER the topic has been announced.
* Any piece caught breaking the rules will be taken off the thread.
* The topics will be picked at random from the list on this thread
(The author will be given credit). So guys keep them coming.
*You can add multiple entries, but please dont post WIP (Unless you intend to update them). NEW RULE!
* Ill post ANOTHER thread to quantify and track WHO has participated the most on these threads.

Good luck

It looks very difficult and interesting :)
Do we have to put 9 different poses on the drawing?

(as a beginner I would like to, but ...reality disagrees :) )

02-26-2005, 07:23 PM
Roberto, again the links shown link to last tiems links... :)
BTW... did you get my email from a couple days ago?

Great Topic!.. I'll probably do a quick one soon!

Dranger -- Not sure, but I think you can do quick gesture drawings, silhouettes or whatever you like. We had a similar topic some months ago if you want to check it out:

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to "The 9poses" after hours cocktail lounge....

hehehe, kind of a slow day on the DSG eh? Ill color this if i get a chance tonight. Took about an hour so far. pencil on paper. Mine is more of a "Bar" type atmosphere. Not realy high class party place. more like a run down joint with a bunch of regulars.

My poses from left to right are:

1: The singer on the stage
2: The middle age woman siting alone, staring into her drink.
3: The piano Player
4: A drunk leaning on the stage admiring the singer.
5: A man puting on his coat to go home
6: A waitress with a tray of drinks looking at the man at the bar.
7: A man with his head down at the bar covering his face.
8: A man at the end of the bar calling for another drink.
9: The bartender watching the lonely woman in front.

02-27-2005, 01:37 AM
Yes.. the DSG does seem slow today.

Nice one CodeNothing! I like the way you have different characters all spread out in the bar.
deaderthanred: I like the bottom right one best! :p But they are all nice.

I'm having serious problems with my wacom. If I trace over a circle drawn on paper, the result on the screen doesn't create a circle (the start and end are way off). So I can never get the lines to look like I want. If anyone has some advice, I'm all ears.

I was focusing on the poses so please don't notice the couple shrunk down arms. If I find the time I'll fix them.

Kvaalen: good take on the 9 poses :) as for mine, the one holding huge head is my fav too.. cutest of em all
sagi_13: try imageshack (replied on the other thread where you posted too)
honestly i've no idea what's a cocktail bar.. most places that serve alcohol around where i stay are danceclubs or dingy pubs lol

Here's my entry, since I'm too slow  I only had time for 2 poses.

Took around 45 min each pose in Open canvas (tha's too fast for me) . It was as well my first attempt to draw figures with my wacom :banghead:.

The waitress looks strange, she's getting down from the table.

first post ever, so this might take a while to get posted. i take part in a couple of other daily sketch groups already, but this one seems quite inspiring..
