View Full Version : How can I get the paint effect shadow separately?

I create my character's hair with paint effect,and try to use MR sss shader for the skin.However,I can't abide soooo many polygons if I covert the hair to poly.I want to render the hair with maya default renderer and compose with other parts rendered by mr.
The problem comes.When rendering shadow pass for the PE,the PE still stay in the alpha.Then I can't get the shadow pass clear.Is there any settings I went wrong?
Otherwise,I want to use HDRI as lighting sourse.But with this I can't get the shadow of hair.So i create other spot lights to create shadow.Is there any better idea for this?

Did you turn off primary visibility of the polygon hair?

I don't want to convert hair to poly,but render it in maya default renderer.
Is there any good idea to compose the shadows of hair?
