I hope they find the attacker, and I also hope Poland has the death penalty, knife-attacks are primitive and rule out any remorse.

This is soo sad.

Could someone please translate the above websites?

sad news ...

02 February 2005, 12:42 PM -> so what this site more or less says is that Z. Beksinski was murdered in his apartment in Warsaw last night. The police say he was stabbed at least a dozen of times. Apparently he was murdered by someone who knew him well. The body was found before midnight by his family when they realized something was wrong since he didn't answer the phone calls. There was a perfect order in his apartment and probably nothing was stolen. Motives of the crime remain unknown. There are no tracks of the murderer either.
Then they quote Beksinski from his last exhibition that took place in 2002. He said something like this: 'We all face the problem of death. I'm no exception. Personally I dread more dying rather than death itself. It is not a fear of non-existence but of pain, and that's what I'm afraid of most'.
Then they write a bit about his life and his art...
So sad.

This is a little overwhelming, Thompson on Sunday, Frank Herbert's anniversary on Monday... In any case it's great to see how many people love Beksinsky's creations, I personally know only one other person who notices the beauty.

It's sad, but i hope Poland doesn't allow death penalty.

02 February 2005, 07:50 PM
very sad news indeed. i can't say that i like his artwork, but it's particularly tragic when someone who still has a lot to give is cut short in such horrific fashion.

02 February 2005, 09:08 PM
It's sad, but i hope Poland doesn't allow death penalty.

Unfortunately not.

Very sad news, Mr Beksinski, You will be missed

Such great artist passed away...

02 February 2005, 11:08 PM
This is not a good time talking about penalties... As someone said: "Lets learn to love people - they are fading away so quickly".

This is crazy - Mr.Beksinski's son has died by his own hand long time ago and also was a great man...

Rest In Peace My Master

02 February 2005, 08:17 AM
Very sad indeed.

Poland doesnt have death penalty, the country is in EU and EU doesn't have that. Thanx god for that.

For those who haven't herd yet. Zdzislaw Beksinski, a very famous Polish Artist has been murdered in his apartment in Warsaw. his body was found on Tuesday 24th of February on his balcony with what was believed to be 7 - 9 stab wounds to the chest. He'll be greatly missed. two Two days later I think yesturday or today he would have been 76 (I think).

(Please forgive me if I have misput slight details like his b-day, # of stab wounds, age)

He will be geeatly missed by those who knew him and I'm sure for those who have not yet known his work.

He was my Vavorite!

Good bye Master!

To be honest I just checked out his artwork. I've seen some of it before but didn't know his name. Wonderfully dark. A google search of the news says that the police have 2 teenage suspects in custody.

Well that sucks... Seems like a better way to go than cancer, but I guess death really never is a good way to go.

02 February 2005, 04:35 AM
Whew! For a minute there when I first read the last name I immediately thought of Cliff Bleszinski (, Unreal Level Designer for Epic Games.

Oh well, still sad to read/hear about someone's life being wiped from the planet unnecessarily. Condolences all around.

02 February 2005, 05:43 AM
Beautiful sentiment, Signal. You're clearly a very sensitive individual.

02 February 2005, 03:02 PM
His death is like one of his works: it shouldn't happen. How should it happen? Ask Yukio Mishima. Beksinskis work is important to me, too. I will take a minute of silence for his
Now the paintings will cost more.
