View Full Version : Haze effect with Mental Ray help

I've been having one hell of a time getting a haze effect in Maya using Mental Ray. I've searched all over and tried the tutorial with the cube and Parti_volume but now luck.

I don't want to limit the fog to a light source but rather spread it out similar to Environment Fog.

Any help or more insight to this problem would help.

I usually attach an Mib_volume (or whatever the most basic one is called) to the Volume slot of my camera under the Mental Ray section. That way all you need to set is the fog colour and the distance from the camera at which the fog will become a solid wall.

mib_volume + fluid shader = turn off maya !! Again in maya 6.5 - :eek:
