View Full Version : Reflection within a reflection?

Is it possible? If so how would i do it?

What I am asking is when something is reflected that has a reflection map on it too, the object's reflection isn't reflecting. I understand that such rendering would be intensive, but it has on some occasion "broken" my seen cause the reflection was more "vivid" than the actual object because it wasn't reflecting. Thanks

is this with Mental Ray?
if so, open Render globals and find the Raytracing part.
try increasing the "reflections" or "max trace depth" sliders and maybe it will solve your problem. haven't really tested this, though, so hope it works out.

if not, try looking in the Maya help files until you find something useful. there's a lot of info in there, just hard to find it all.

Thanks, i'll look into that now. And now I am using Maya Software renderer.
