View Full Version : rigged to flip?

I having trouble figuring out how to rig a character so it can jump and flip in the air, stand on its hands, spin on its head... things of that nature. I watched a tutorial by Jeff Lew called "Learning 3D Character Animation" and he mentioned creating a null shape to be the center of gravity and new root, but doesn't mention how to get the null to follow the character around (unless you have to keyframe that too).

Key the translate/rotates you need on that root null you created. As long as everything is parented correctly it should do the trick for you. If you have any splines in your rig you may have to keep them seperate to avoid double transforms.
