View Full Version : 2D Student Short film :: "Aniversary"

We're a group of 4 students studying a new course (Digital Film Direction) at CICE in Madrid, Spain. This was our first short film, it had to be done in traditional animation. This was a hard task as some people had never even picked up a pencil before. Most of us had never really animated seriously at all! The production time was 3 months, from conceptualization to post production. We were basically all given a WACOM Saphire tablet, shown how to use basic drawing tools and to add more frames in an animation. The idea was for us to be given only the basic tools to be able to tell a story.

Download from here (360*288 - divx 5.05):

I personally most definately learned alot producing this short, especially all the effort that goes into Pre-Production that can save you heaps of time later on. Also learned alot about timing and how many frames certain actions occur for.

Right now we've started Pre-Production on our next short, which will be Live Action so thats definately going to pose a challenge.

Hope you enjoy this Short Film and don't forget to visit our school's website (

A 'shoutout' to all film students out there!
