View Full Version : get around motion blur

motion blur is extremely slow and requires huge memory.
in the character animation I am doing at the moment, without motion blur, the render time drops from 14 mins to 54secs, and memory usage from 800M to 200M.
is there a way to do less expensive motion blur?
2d motion blur wont work, coz i need deformation blur for the character.

If you have afterfx or premier you could do that afterwards by applying a directional blur or a gaussian blur... Directional blur works a little like 3d motion blur and can be quite time saving...

but the arms and legs and.... are all moving in different directions, how can u do that in premiere?

There is a plugin for premiere/after effects that will create motion blur based on an objects movement. I it's called ReelSmart Motion Blur, made by Re-vision. You can get a demo here: http://www.revisionfx.com
Of course, the motion blur in 3.0 has been reworked and is quite a lot faster. But till then, re-vision is a good solution.
