Hello!... a rather scyzophrenic modelisation of a car, in the disney, or comics, style, where objects are "alive", and react as living parts of the scene... the road is modelised the same way, with a wave under the tires... the human are normal modelisation, more "quiet" than the surropunding objects!...

Pretty unique and cool!

01-22-2005, 12:38 AM
Love it!

01-22-2005, 12:44 AM
Good job. You captured that Disneyesque feeling really well. The characters look like Disney characters too. Well old Disney, the good kinda, not the new crap obviously.

01-22-2005, 01:15 AM
no Zbrush??? I can not believe it. Anyway. So expressive. I love your works Marcel.

01-22-2005, 01:28 AM
this is something very fresh.
sort of tin-tin or popeye.
it flash back the good-old disney.
the rendering is amazing.

p/s : are that guy gonna lost his hat?

01-22-2005, 03:34 AM
ouaaa ca déchire
good modeling and pose !
la texture du sol est trop étirée, et le rendu pas à la hauteur du reste..

01-22-2005, 04:35 AM
great comic style. Did you distort the actual geometry, or is it a post effect?

01-22-2005, 05:22 AM

Gr8 work buddy!
Just out of words now!!

01-22-2005, 04:50 PM
Thank you for your comments, and crits!... I agree with some crit (in french) about the renderr: I just had receive the "fresnel effect" plug in for carrara, and it's obvious that, after trying it on "drive", i have to re-read the manual!... sorry, Vlad, of course characters are zbrush, I just recheck carrara, and I suppose uncheck, doing that, rhino and zbrush... here are, in doc join, the characters, and a screen capture of the car in carrara... the cahracters have a very very low resolution, and no collar at all, as I add the white collar in photoshop...

01-22-2005, 04:52 PM
and the little guys, without textures...

01-22-2005, 05:01 PM
I just love it. Well done!

01-22-2005, 06:53 PM
Hi !! That's a gooood work man..

So you have to re read the manual huh ??

01-22-2005, 10:36 PM
Nice concept! Only crit on the ground - the bump is too streched on the wave. Nice colors and a good feel of a rushed turn :) .

01-23-2005, 03:15 AM
gr8 work! there are few works so original! keep it up :)

Fantastic piece of work great character and style. I think I like the colour and metal work you have created across the bonnet of the car the most. Very nicely done.

01-23-2005, 09:44 AM
Very refreshing style you have there. Looks a little like 30's to 50's style, wonderful! It was also very interesting to see the two characters without textures, they were so simple in style and form yet so detailed when textured. Excellent work!

01-23-2005, 11:49 AM
Good Modelling :bounce:

01-23-2005, 01:15 PM
 Nice work

very good modeling and fun style

01-23-2005, 01:33 PM
Nice form , keep stretching  .

01-23-2005, 01:56 PM
Very cool image ! I thought it was 2D the first itme i saw it, it's awesome for a 3D work and this kind of effect could be fantastic in animation but could be very difficult to make...

Joli boulot Marcel

01-23-2005, 02:29 PM
It shines! hehe. Seriously though. The colours are great and it's very original. Good work mate!

01-23-2005, 02:35 PM
Refreshing and original!

01-23-2005, 03:13 PM
wht is carrara?

01-23-2005, 05:17 PM
untextured ground or close to plain white would look better. rest is TOP NOTCH

01-23-2005, 07:03 PM
Wow, I really love this piece. Fantastic work!

01-23-2005, 09:44 PM
I like the concept ..for having worked on something sorta related myself some time ago, giving life to a car, for me it was more into the "Boumbo" cartoonish style rather than hyper-realism, always very tricky to animate realistic characters ina non-realistic way. Modeling is nice, the car looks great, nice deformation on it, not too fond of the wave on the ground though... and really like your characters, a bit of "pieds nickeles" type of dudes, good reference to me.
Dunno much about Carrara so I can't really blame you or anything for the rendering, such modeling work would deserve maybe a better render engine in the end, too much specular and glossiness for my taste, takes a bit of the charm away... I'm not too sure such end result, and I'm talking lighting/rendering quality wise only here, deserved to be on front page ("frightened knight" did deserve it big time though:thumbsup: )... hope you will forgive me for my opinion here as I do like the picture anyway.

Very awesome indeed, with a wholesome, classic feel to it. The reflection in the headlights confuses me. But then again, I also think I need glasses, so..:S

But I definetely like it.

01-24-2005, 01:23 AM
Awesome stuff! It truly looks Disney-ish!
Real nice job!

01-24-2005, 03:16 AM
I am really enjoying the fact that older concepts in film/art are now being resurrected from the grave...and given new life. This artwork is indeed reminiscent of the old Disney storytelling methodologies. I love it.

01-24-2005, 11:01 AM
nice,cool,impressive... I love it man! :applause:

01-24-2005, 11:13 AM
Excellent image... Nice to see something that good come out of carrara ! It was a bit weird to use from what I remember, but some thing in that package are really cool. (the texture/shader editor is really fuzzy but give s out excellent work sometimes....)

01-24-2005, 12:22 PM
Verry creative you work, refresh vision.
Keep up the good work, looking forward to hear from you.

Lovely image and composition, celmar!

Very fresh stylisation, and a joy to behold :)

01-24-2005, 03:10 PM
i like the car...rather refreshing colour alright. since you brought life to the car, perhaps you could make the headlights more expressive (as eyes) making the action. still good though.

01-24-2005, 08:11 PM
awesome drawing!

01-24-2005, 10:09 PM
I like you image, and just one comment, the first thing that struck me was that there was no motion blurring. So though your posing has alot of energy, the Norm is to see motion blur, it is what i expect of an image with so much movement. It's good anyway, and would be even better animated im sure.

mmm... beeer

01-25-2005, 07:06 AM
interesting work!!

01-25-2005, 08:06 AM
that looks so good! i love the expression on the drivers face :)

01-27-2005, 08:45 AM
That's excellent. Love it :D

01-31-2005, 06:30 AM
thats nice! a combination of 2D and 3D characters i like the squash effects of the car '

01-31-2005, 09:53 AM
Your image is really cool! I like the gap between the realism of the depiction and the elasticated side of the car!:bounce:

02-01-2005, 03:26 AM
The Model is pretty amazing!

Love you style!
good work!:buttrock:

Unusual, I like it though. Keep on creating Non-Run-of-the-Mill stuff.

02-02-2005, 10:18 AM
wonderful...just the organic look to the car...greate work

02-02-2005, 11:52 AM
It looks a bit cartoon style, is the render and shaders or it's postproduction?

02-02-2005, 12:08 PM
no, few post productions on that picture: the leaves, the blend with the white in the background... the hdri is "extreme hires" from dosh, and a lot of global illumination;

02-03-2005, 09:10 AM
Very intresetful image! But the car`s mately ----the raytra too strong!
My god ,my English is pool! Help me------!

02-03-2005, 05:38 PM

I love it. Very funny. Nice materials and rendering.

03-01-2005, 11:26 PM
the pic is awsome! and the colours make it more alive. It just need a little blur to give it the edge. It definetly has the old good cartoon feel to it.
