hello guys,i'm at a loss,i need an idea for a new image, one that i can spend time on and put lots detail in,and have successful colours

can anyone help me come up with an idea, something fantasy like....

Paint a space marine fighting an orc who kidnapped a naked woman in his sports car.

I'm liking that idea!!

anyway, @ NOOB!:: No one can decide a scene for you, if you want inpiration go to the daily sketch thread and have a look at some of the titles there. I have no idea at what you're good at so I can't say what you should do. Is there any particular type of image you want to do? Like portrait, character, landscape, actionscene...etc

And it will be up to you on the success of your image, with the amount of colours and the amount of detail you want to put in.

i'll post a sketch here soon, and i hope u guys will help me through it.

and if ur interested heres a pic i just finished but i'm really not pleased with it,don't think i put all my effort in,perspective is all crappy, and the body needs work etc....but its still an example of what i can do colour wise.

add Lionel Richie lurking in the shadows and you have my vote

Sorry guys, I know it's off topic but ...

AIPh Pretzel, I have to say your avatar is freakin awesome. I'm rolling on the floor laughing everytime I see your eating pigs - you've lost 2 oxen ...

I'd start with a couple of thumbnails, before start creating a master piece!
Really small readable sketches. After you've done them post'em and we'll discuss ...

Draw me: I'm fantastic.:D

(Just kidding. I'm quite boring.)

Take every kind of fantasy and mix them up. That's what inspires me. A little bit of HK comic style costumes and scenery with post-apocalyptic dragons and werewolves chasing fairies in a rocket. With Anubis waterskiing across the river styx.

EDIT: Here are some things that have inspired me recently:

anything by edouard manet (not a typo: MANet.)

Hey Fantastic Plastic, who did the anime style pics in the second link you posted there? Those are tres cool.

You too can paint like Frazetta! Actually Hofman and Goldhawk are pretty good in thier own right. Both are definite inspirations for fantasy genre/barbarian ideas.
