Our bandwith has tripeled...this is very popular with all of you....and the web team is letting me know:eek:

09 September 2002, 07:54 PM
I signed up, downloaded one image and got called away. Now that I'm back, all the images force me to the bottom to sign up again. There's not a Login area and the page hasn't set a cookie for me to be recognized again. I tried signing up again, but it tells me that I'm already in the system, yet I can't download any images. :argh:

I also don't see any reference to this from the main pages. I have to come here, find the article thread, and then follow the link. (bookmarked now)

I'm not complaining. I am just letting you know about the problems. I'd like to get the textures, but can't spend a lot of time fighting the webpage.

Thanks for looking into it.

yeah webfox, I've been having the same probs

Ah... Just received the membership email from Newtek. (signed up last night... got the mail this afternoon - lag)

If you enter from the member area (and fill out some more forms) you get the textures to download again.

thanks I've been looking for more sat images to go camping, found some people on small unknown lake last week using a landsat7 image. Anymore you know of?

Yes. Much better.

I was going to recommend the "Already a member?" link, but knew that your folks didn't need any urging.

Then again, I already have the textures and am working on my model of a rusty Tim Jenison standing against a brick wall, on a weather-worn deck, surrounded by sunflowers on a sunny day with picturesque clouds.

awesome textures, thanks. :D

09 September 2002, 11:24 AM
Way to go guys!:applause:

How about zipping 'em up and allowing members download only one single file?

09 September 2002, 02:15 PM
For many reasons we have not done that....

1. Bandwith issues

2. We are tracking which textures get the most downloads...that way we know what needs to be in the second release of 50 textures

Many Digital painters use them as reference...3D artists can use them as Texture maps....Game artists have used them for game textures....and so on....the list is endless for what CG artists can do with them....
