View Full Version : Holiday network spot

For the end of the year, the network I work for (Nicktoons - the cartoon only Nickelodeon) wanted to create two weeks of the "Nicktoons Meltdown" a series of holiday and winter themed shows. Packaging these shows would be simple short spots featuring snowmen melting in a variety of ways. Out of the 12 spots to be done, I was given 3 to do. One using a giant laser, one with a giant magnifying glass and the third melting during re-entry.

Here is a still from the giant laser spot:

and the animation:
Nicktoons Laser Meltdown (quicktime 6 required, 3.3MB) (

Hope you enjoy it. For the other spots I did for meltdown and another promo piece, you can go here:
Nicktoons Image Work (

All work was modeled, textured, animated and composited by me. 3d was done in Maya and the compositing was done in AfterEffects.

Hope you enjoy it.

I love the lighting! That cool blue light on the snowman gives this whole thing a great feel with the contrast against the yellow lights on the laser.

The little arms flopping up and falling is REALLY funny!

Great work!
