View Full Version : best approach to making balloon structures

01 January 2005, 10:06 PM
I'm trying to do a project for a friend where I need to make a 3D visualization of a structure that is made of wire (i'm just using a nurbs curve for that) and possibly a hundred or so balloons attached to the wire. Can someone suggest the best approach for doing this? My original plan was to just put them in one by one, but that seems like its gonna take too long an be incredibly inefficient. Using an array won't work either because the wire is curved to form different shapes. I also though about particle systems, but I cant find a practical way of implementing. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

here's a way that works in maya, and may be adaptable to other software: use the curve as an animation path, hava as many frames as baloons you need. then use the animation snapshot.
