View Full Version : WIP: (nudity) a floating chick
12-28-2004, 05:50 PM
This is a cheesy illustration featuring somekind of a resurrection ritual or somesuch. The colors on the pic right now are just only thrown in to make the image a bit clearer to look at. I'm intending to finish this by the Exposť 3 deadline february.. Deadlines do wonders when trying to finish pics :)
Anyway, comments, critiques and thoughts are welcome!

Very cool start, nice perspective. Is this all done digitally?
One thing - the broken cuffs seem to be floating instead of falling. I guess as a rough sketch they're something you're planning to fix, eh? :)

I really like the composition of the piece. That broken cuff is actually my favorite part of it...it really has some appeal to me (cant figure out y). keep us updated!

That broken cuff seems to give it a kind of slow motion atmosphere to it. I like it too.
Learned a lot allready, I never draw out the basic shapes first. I wing everything, but I guess I should start cause this looks very good.

Ha, I like the fisheye effect ;)
It looks good so far composition wise.

Thanks everybody. :)
Indeed, I was intending to depict a frozen moment in time and I'm thinking about further enhancing the effect by painting some solar flare -like lava splashes in the background. That will be quite a challenge :hmm:
This is done entirely in Photoshop this far.

as long as it's not 100 lens flares, that'll be cool

Hahahaha! Nonono, no lens flares at all :D

this is very good.. i like it.. i will be watching this post. i like the pose of the figure. and the perspective is nice.

i think that that is just light from the lava bouncing off the reapers...not actually on them  i think......?

The term that I want you to explore on this piece is chiaroscuro. Found here http://www.artlex.com/For now the rojo is killin this for me, Image is very strong. Original is best in my opinion.
Question though? Can we develope the scene into script and explore the possibilities?
