I'd especially like advice on textures and atmosphere. Software: C4D, Photoshop

Hi there, here's some thoughts about the texturing and ambience:
You could use a wore-down kinda wall, with very, very dry paint (you know, when the paint is so dry it has cracks and it chips off the walls), because it's a very dry place (desert).
Basically the color of the walls could be the same, only wore down.
And maybe you could also make a small path that goes out of the city, and vary the brightness of the color in some random houses to make them "all different".
I'd also try to experiment adding some yellowish fog on the background or some kinda deset-mist... like there's sand floating around.. maybe it could be a nice touch... not too much though.
Or you could somehow make the heat wave mirage you see when it's too hot (you know... the heat waves you see when you look at something far away on a very hot day).
Just some thoughts and ideas :-)

Thanks for the input! I could use some advice on making heat waves.
