Itzik to the Rescue,
Our first Student CG Film has been completed and compressed down to the point where we can put it on our server.

Let me know what you think!
This again is our first animation, and we had hardly done any 3D before this project. There were major problems with the rigging, which messed up some of the character animation, but enjoy... and critiques are welcome!

First I'll start with the video itself. For 3 minutes it is WAY too big. If you insist on using QuickTime format at least use the MPEG4 codec. It looks to me like you used Sorenson or Cinepak, both of which are pretty horible encoders for web.

If that is your first film then you did a pretty good job. There are definitly plenty of issues with it though, some of the most apparent that I saw:

Characters should never stop moving.
It was all rather slow. His running sequence esepcially was too drawn out, mabye two hallway running scenes, if they are different from each other. With all of the running he did I would think he would have caught up to the rest of them, considering he did not leave too much later than the rest of them.
You used the same space background for both of your space shots! There are lots of high-quality shots on Hubble's site, you could make hundreds of space shots and have a different background for each.

Its cute. I find myself liking the character.
It could really use some editing. All sense of urgency is lost in the hallway running sequences (see stephen2002)
