View Full Version : A Fairy World, Olivier Ponsonnet (3D)
Title: A Fairy World
Name: Olivier Ponsonnet
Software: 3ds max, Photoshop
Here is a picture I'v made for a french contest.
The subject was "A fairy world".
My inspirations for the adult fairy (right character): diurnal butterfly, with princess clothing, lace... My aim was to make her beautiful and elegant.
For the little fairy: she's a mic of night butterfly, firefly and coleopter. I wanted to make her a little original, cute and with and amazed by the spell cast by the other fairy ( butterflies inside bubbles ).
I used the following softwares to complete this picture:
3DS MAX 5.1
And Paint Shop Pro / Photoshop for textures and final compositing.
Hope you'll like it.

12-14-2004, 03:18 AM
So nice. Some good ideas here. The big faery's arms seem disproportionately small. Barely noticeable unless you look right at it. I love the little firefly-faery.
12-14-2004, 03:41 AM
This is the one of most wonderfull fantasy 3d works I´ve seen. When I saw the frontpage pic I was pretty sure that this is a 2d painting from Linda Bergvist, but I was wrong
Expose Material for sure
12-14-2004, 04:01 AM
i pity the others that enter that "french contest". this is a no contest. you ARE the winner. fantastic work. :)
12-14-2004, 04:44 AM
This is quite a beautiful piece. I dropped it to my desktop background immediately. Then I took a closer look, and thought to myself, "Hmm, interesting how fairy images have floating fairies, and the wings are not moving." Just an observation, I thought a little motion blur would be nice (something like a hummingbird for the small fairy), and would complete the fantasy scene.
Stoehr: good idea. :buttrock:
12-14-2004, 05:25 AM
THAT IS ONE HECK OF A PICTURE. Absolutley superb, you don't deserve 5 stars, not even 10, I give you a solid 100 stars!!!
