I think he was supposed to be one of Santa`s raindeers, or reigndears
shouldn`t have skipped spelling classes

Rudolph the rednosed reindeer! From the song!

12 December 2004, 06:53 PM
As in the song...

Rudolf the red-nosed reindeer, had a very shiny nose. And if you ever saw it, you would even say it glows. All of the other reindeer used to laugh and call him names. They never let poor Rudolf join in any reindeer games. Then one foggy Christmas Eve, Santa came to say. "Rudolf with your nose so bright, won't you guide my sleigh tonight?" Then how the reindeer loved him, laughed and shouted out with glee, "Rudolf the red-nosed reindeer, you'll go down in history!"

hm, it ended up more like "Rudolph & Santa: BANDITS", but bandits are like outlaws, right?

12 December 2004, 04:33 AM
It was going somewhere, then I lost it... oh well. At least I'm practicing!:D

30 mins PS

About 1.5 hours, ps & wacom

Sagi -- Happy Birthday! (I've put my foot in my mouth all week, but it's YOUR birthday cake you'll be eating, right?)

erilaz -- Well, they certainly look suspicious. :)

the sparky -- Love the boots! Nice perspective, too.

J_Grieve -- "Yule never catch us". Classic!

Lord Dubu -- Is that a zombie Santa I see?

Cool stuff, everybody. Keep 'em coming!

Heh... reminds me of GTA!:D

12 December 2004, 07:27 AM
2 hours/painter

12 December 2004, 07:28 AM
Didn't think I'd get a chance to do this one. But I decided around midnight that I could pinch this one out relatively fast. Only 2.5 hours. Used PS and a Bic Pen.

12 December 2004, 08:10 AM
FridayEye: love the skull and cross-canes on the tattoo, very nicely rendered.

ZZacman: very good use of caricature. Rudolf with a 'phro... ....:D

Here's mine:
Painter 7, about 30 minutes total for sketching and coloring but maybe another 10-15 on top for smoothing and re-doing the lines. It works okay at smaller resolution but compared to the efforts you guys have put up, I need to finish these things off a bit more I suspect.

caption: "Awright jolly man, the jig is up. You've got 'til midnight to give back those presents and get outta town..."

12 December 2004, 08:18 AM
Aslak: The joke isn't my taste, but good idea and nice sketch.

tadbit: Hah, I like yours.

Daroita: I lke your reindeer alot. Nice job =).

Lord Dubu: Love the chaos. I think it's reigns, but that almost looks like a knife in Santa's hands. Rudolf has some scary fire eyes, too =). (I mean that in a good way)

J_Grieve: Good job - it looks like Santa's mouth is bleeding though. Maybe it's supposed to be that way =). At any rate, good job

the sparky: Hehee for some reason that reminds me of a cartoon I used to watch when I was little (your style). I forget what it was though.... anyway, very nice sketch.

erilaz: All he needs is a jail suit and he's set! =D Even though not because of 'skill,' I like your Rudolf. He made me smile =).

Novacaine: Ahhh your name reminds me of my dentist visit today (6 needles this week, and 6 last week, ugh). Anyway... Nice perspective. That's just funny for some reason, hehee.. good job =).

ilikesoup: That made me think of the movie "The Appledumpling Gang." Neat sketch.

FridayEve: Hah, love the tattoo. Santa looks tough, but that reindeer could be demonic or something...

zzacmann: Hehee that's great. Made me think of Scarface. Good thing I finished my sketch before I saw yours, or else I would feel like I partially copied it or something.

Russell_Collins: Very cool. Me thinks Santa will roast in his coat there =).

and HAPPY BIRTHDAY sagi_13! How old are you now? If I may ask...

Alright here's my sketch. It's alot sloppier than I planned, but eh, I got lazy...

"Little known to the public, Santa was a wild dude before Mrs. Clause came along..."

Please, can you tell me how to post image? Sorry for ignorance Put the ubb code [/IMG ] without the space between "IMG" and the "]" bracket at the end, and in the middle put the URL for the image you're posting.

If you need someone to host it, this is a pretty good site and it's rather self-explanatory: Imageshack (

abouuuuuuuuut an hour, I'd say, in PS w/ Wacom.
I realized a little too late that I was going for a FridayEve feel (don't humour me; I failed miserably ;) Also, since I still can't see any of his images, it can't be said that it's a blatant rip off. But, from the comments I've read on his piece, it's nothing like mine :P) but just decided to finish the bugger.

OUTLAWS: Santa and Rudolph
Didn't quite turn out as well as I'd have liked, but I'm having trouble with my monitor trying to go out, so it was a race against time...about 1 hour PS/Wacom...and turns out not to even be an original idea. <sigh>

Good ones Soupy and Friday!

12 December 2004, 02:06 PM
boredom makes me post this...I'm at the university, the only thing I've got here is MS Paint and very little time....

Nice thing you got going on here in the daily sketch group.
Gimp, wacom, 3 hours

12 December 2004, 08:17 PM
Thank You... there were 24 candles in my cake last night.

12 December 2004, 10:16 PM
You can rest easy in your beds this season folks. The highly dangerous outlaws "Santa and Rudolph" have been apprehended whilst trying to steal the Crown Jewels.

Santa has been quoted saying "I would have got away with it too if it hadn't been for those pesky kids!"

A reward of 30,000,000 has been paid to a strange looking cartoon dog and his band of college drop-out amateur detectives.

Merry Xmas.

you guys rule! I wouldn't dare to compete with you, but oh, well, since I made this sketch anyway before I noticed this thread. Here it goes... Pen and paper. Would love to hear if it would be worth to develop it into a painting.

It looks interesting...I'd say go for it. And don't think of this as a competition. Its always good to practice your skills. By working and posting, you can get some good tips on how to make your paintings better. I vote - GO FOR IT!
