12-06-2004, 12:41 AM
Hello all,

It's time to move on to new projects and hopefully continue to grow in this industry. As a token of appreciation for all of you who have supported us during the production and promotion of our first attempt at animated filmmaking, I give you "Blue".

p.s. Once the traffic starts to die down for the Divx version, I will upload a Quicktime version for all you Mac-heads. :-)

Thanks from all of us !!! In the process of downloading but @ 16.0kb. Be several hours (even) on broadband, but worth it.

12-06-2004, 01:15 AM
Awesome! Downloading it now!:D

69% at 7.5 kbs. Can't wait to watch it! O_o

12-06-2004, 02:35 AM
Hey Craig, you still in Huntsville? I'm glad to know you finished it! Congrats man!

12-06-2004, 12:42 PM
Craig? You mean Chris? heh...

Well, I was in Birmingham, not Huntsville... but I've recently taken a job at Fathom Studios in Atlanta, GA.

Hope everyone enjoys it!

looks like a lot of people are downloading

1.5 kbs . . . .

i ll come back in a couple of days and try again

anybody wants to mirror it ?

12-06-2004, 05:04 PM
I would love to download and watch it, but at .5kb/s (56k + overload = blah) it's going to take 183 hours. Heh... I'll have to come back later and try it again.

12-06-2004, 06:51 PM
i've been following the production of 'blue' for a while now - congratulations on it's completion, mully. the productions stills look fantastic. i like your site as well - it really gives a good insight on the production process itself.

admiral ra - could you possibly mirror the file?

12-06-2004, 07:50 PM
Looking forward to see it. It asks for a login and password. Did I have to register somewhere? Do I have to pay?

Congrats on your achievements.

12-06-2004, 07:52 PM

when i try to download it asks me for a username and password... so... little help here pls !!

12-06-2004, 08:08 PM
heh... it looks like there may have been too many downloads and they locked everyone out for awhile. I'll try to get a mirror going and post again when everything's back to normal. Sorry guys.

12-06-2004, 08:15 PM

please mirror it..... please

12-06-2004, 09:55 PM
Ok, things are back up for now. I still want to try to find a mirror location, but until then, there's still only one link.

If you can hold off for a day or two (or maybe wait until late tonight), the speed will surely have increased by then.

12-06-2004, 10:18 PM
Wow this is a long one!!

Im gonna take it home so i can watch it with my full attention. I can't wait!

O, thanks for Sharing this Mully.
Much appreciated.

12-07-2004, 12:21 AM
If I can actually get it, I'll provide a mirror. :)

12-07-2004, 03:46 AM
Wow. Got it.

Thanks so much for releasing it to us to view. Impressive, impressive work.

12-07-2004, 04:49 AM
Call me crazy, but wasn't Blue already released on a 3D World CD at the beginning of the year?

12-07-2004, 05:01 AM
Hey, you're very welcome. Glad you enjoyed it!

cookepus: Yes, it was released on a compilation through 3D-World but not everyone gets that mag. Now it's just up-for-grabs.

It's time to move on to other... shorter, things. :-)

12-07-2004, 08:35 AM
I'm getting it but slowly.
You should consider setting up a bittorrent file for this if a lot of people are going to be downloading it.

12-07-2004, 10:44 AM
I have that on the same compilation 'shorts' disc over here in the UK.

It was an awesome film. I particularly liked the character design of the other, less anthropometric robot... which I guess was the 'bad guy' of the short.

Does it really qualify as an animated 'short'?

I'd call it more of an animated 'medium'.

12-07-2004, 12:21 PM

you might want to do a 'bittorrent' - saves you a lot of bandwidth, and would allow everyone else to download a heck of a lot faster...

thx a lot for this fast mirror....

am i wrong our is the quality a bit poor for that huge filesize??

12-07-2004, 05:48 PM
Is another mirror needed? I'm uploading it to my server now, so let me know.

12-07-2004, 08:25 PM

A great movie. Well done!

But how do you manage to fund this!?? It doesenīt seem to help to give it away for free either, even though I am most grateful for it obviously.
Didnīt you spend years on it?
Shouldnīt you have sold DVDīs instead?

12-07-2004, 08:51 PM
We would have spent more money producing the DVD than we would have made from it. Plenty of good things have come from the completion of this film that make it worth the effort.

Downloading now..........

Thanks a lot for releasing this Chris. I've been following this for a while now and am really looking forward to seeing it. I am currently in the design stage of a largish project with my kids (they are writing and doing preliminary design work) and this should give a lot of ispiration to it. :)

12-08-2004, 01:10 AM
haha, sorry about that chris. :\ I only met you once in huntsville, although I live in b'ham. good luck with the new job!

12-08-2004, 03:41 AM
Please, another mirror. All of the current links are dead or way too slow.

12-08-2004, 06:12 AM
Feel free to hammer my server, I have 50 GB of bandwidth, so that should let a few people get a copy. If 49GB ends up being used, I'll stop it because I do need some bandwidth for a beta website I'm working on currently. :)

The average speed (currently) is 150 kb/s

12-10-2004, 05:25 AM
I still can't download it.

12-10-2004, 10:30 AM
Yeah I can't get it off the site or any of the mirrors either. Must be down everywhere. Guess the huge filesize is killing them all off.
