I was working on something which I thought could work as an animated gif. Not sure how applicable it is. There is no real battle in it as such.

12-05-2004, 10:38 PM
have it bite the hand, then it will be a kind of battle...

12-06-2004, 01:20 AM
lol, that's classic Goro :D and why did you have to dredge that one up again alice? oh, the humanity!

What programs have ppl been using to make these? I've never really tried to make an animated image before..

Cheers, V

12-06-2004, 01:29 AM
Vit - I used Photoshop to draw my frames, it will allow you to create a .gif animation by doing a "save for web" and on that page, select file type of gif and you should get a checkbox you can select for animate. Then select how many second for each frame. You should have several frames in your file and it will animate them. You can also use Image Ready which usually comes with Photoshop.

Here's mine...PS/Wacom and Image Ready. Had 1 frame already, just made some changes and animated it, about 30 minutes or so.

12-06-2004, 01:49 AM
Been away for a while. Thought I'd give this one a shot.

12-06-2004, 02:42 AM
Many thanks robin, I'll give that a shot after work

12-06-2004, 05:22 AM
PSP 2 hours

12-06-2004, 05:22 AM

About an hour/Flash/Wcm

Didn't get the topic I guess... was it an animated avatar fight club? or just a try at animating something? well, here's mine for no particualr reason, maybe try another one later.

Sir Patroclo

12-06-2004, 05:58 AM
3 hours/ photoshop-painter

edited the time delay for each frame- went too fast before

12-06-2004, 06:51 AM
Hey those are both awesome Sir Patroclo and FridayEve! : )

12-06-2004, 07:30 AM
This is kind of choppy, but man I have to sleep... gleep...

Blue-pencil (the tank), scan, Illustrator, Photoshop (copied all the AI layers into PS), ImageReady=6hr... uug...

12-06-2004, 09:01 AM
Great stuff everyone.. this is mine - special thanks goes to Tuzz who hosted this :]
Used Photoshop to draw each of the flashing lights, and ImageReady to animate them, pretty simple.
About an hour and a half. I hate ImageReady - it has no smudge tool !!!

12-06-2004, 09:30 AM
Righto, this one's 270kb so probably not a good idea to post it inline :)

Man, animations are hard work! 3-4 hrs, Photoshop + ImageReady.

12-06-2004, 11:08 AM
Alice, you keep asking for that spanking, don't you?

Goro, that's funny man. Yeah that's right, I can summon Supervlieg and Vitriolic. Beware...

Patroclo, excellent animation!

Roberto, there's my book! Been looking for that for a long time, thought I lost it...

12-06-2004, 11:18 AM
Great job guys. I don't know yet how to do anime. Beautiful work;

The Gunslinger
12-06-2004, 02:01 PM
Wacom.... PS + ImageReady... 3.5 hours or so. Wow. I had no idea it was that hard to animate a gif.... I'm pretty content with my product, though.

12-06-2004, 02:37 PM

Really good work everyone!

Sir P - it didn't have to include Avatar's, some of us just did that for fun.

Vitriolic - AWESOME!!

Queensoul - love your new Christmas Avatar!

12-06-2004, 06:34 PM
uhmm... thanks cLos... but I haven't posted an animgif yet...
You're not meaning that lil humiliating gif Alice had made now didn't you?

12-06-2004, 08:30 PM
...but I've been saying that for many years so, by now it's probably gone. Most likely I mean to complement you for something else and just "ganged-up" my comments. Anyway, great job!

12-06-2004, 08:33 PM
2nd try:

I've spent two hours for just six frames:scream:. Photopaint/Wacom

12-06-2004, 09:43 PM
Vitriolic, that's very very funny and also well done. Congratulations. You're surely winning this.

Goro, RobertoOrtiz really funny

Got, cool perspective... and big explosion :D

Sir Patroclo and FridayEve yours have a lot of feeling and style. Good work.

I like pixel art very much (if that's what it's called - graphics like those in 320x200 adventure games) and I'll try some of that. If I finish something it I'll post it here later.

12-07-2004, 01:46 AM

A little late but better then nothing. about 1 hours in flash.

12-07-2004, 02:15 AM

Going home in the 22th.
God help me, mom will fatten me up!

12-08-2004, 03:23 PM
That's great that you guys are getting to go home for the holidays. My son, his wife and kids are living in the United Arab Emirates right now - but they are coming home to visit for the holidays, and I'm SO EXCITED! I can hardly wait to see them. They get in on 12/20 and will be here till 1/2.

Roberto - go ahead and let your mom fatten you up some. WE mom people just LIVE for that kind of thing, you know! :) Where is "home" for you anyway?

12-08-2004, 03:26 PM
Haahaha, Roberto has a MOM, hahaha!

Umm.. I mean.

Forget it.

12-08-2004, 09:19 PM
...as robinayles said, Moms love to do that. I certainly miss my home cooking, and the whole celebration, is once a year, why not! Splurge, you still have 5 months till summer to work it out :D
