G2 is Worley Lab's new lighting, shading, subsurface scattering, skin shading plug-in and much more. It also includes realtime preview windows with F9 accuracy. Very cool!

I really like the Subsurface Scattering stuff! If you haven't seen his skin renders, check em out.

Worley never ceases to amaze the LightWave community.

See Ya,

Once i FINALLY get lw, i'll buy g2 (or whatever the future version might be) right after. i like the SSS stuff they incorporated. neat.

but the crap is, that the interface doesnt look like lw at all. more like blender. might be confusing too, looks complicated at the first glance.

Interface looks like LW 5.5 one, havn't you noticed that some major plugin developer are frosen in time.... for example Gaffer had lw 5.0 interface even in lw6... DR plugins still use 5.5 interface. Sometimes i suspect these guys arent aware that Lightwave 6.0 was out already :)
About g2... looks like it got many features, but sample images are really disappointing... just regular images that could be done with "pure" lw.

Worley ( has an update posted with more G2. No release date yet, but one damn fine AVI of the interface ( with some of the capabilities.

All I got to say is SWEEEEEEEEET!

I think that Worley and DR plugins look like old versions of LW because they haven't had a major update in a long time.

I like the G2 interface; It doesn't look so proprietary like his old plugins do.

Sooooo gonna have this one for the toolbox -- just what I expect out of Captian Worley.

Glad to finally see SSS is gonna (eventually) become a reality for us Mac Wavers :D

I just saw the AVI - damn it's look like new killer Viper system!
The renderer remind me StrataStudio or even Bryce renderer - but who's care it's so great! Interesting what kind of machine Mr.Worley have? If this babe will run on my dual P III without waiting hours?
LW 8 mast have this built in!

Looks like a dream come true:eek:

Glad I wasn't the only one! Of course my wife is now wanting Worley to deduct the cleaning bill for the sofa from the cost of the plug-in...

I have to agree with leftover, the images posted so far don't look all that spectacular. However, the real time lighting, texturing and light settings look pretty neat. Hopefully they will post more soon. The things I really am salivating for are better glass/transparency rendering, better soft shadows, especially those for transparent objects and better render speed overall. Would be nice to see how the real time preview compares with the final render, especially when using radiosity!
