View Full Version : UV Seam

How can you determine the placement of the Seam when creating a UV texture MAP. The manual is a little bit vague on this and all the tutorials I can find assume the seam is in the write place!

What I have is a model of a helmet (F1/Motorbike full face style)

I want the seam down the back but I can only seam to get it down the side. Am I missing something?

If the answer is obvious I cant seet it :(

You can try unwelding the points along where you want the seam before unwrapping it ;)

Tried that and it didnt appear to make a difference.

Selected all the points did a Unweld. Re-Applied the UV Map and the seam was in the same place. I was using cylindrical mapping with an auto setting and the object is roughly at the origin.

I am using Lightwave 7.5.
