View Full Version : help: setting up spine animation

I'm modeling a human and I'm wondering how to set up the spine. The Spine sticks out more when you lean over creating little bumps. anyhow I can't think of a good way to do it. I suppose I could use sculpt deformers but that is a little taxing on my computers resources, especially on a high resolution model.
Does anyone have a good solution for this?

I really love using blendshapes that are driven by the joint rotations, as described by mr.stahlberg ... this also works fine on my old mac here and is very precisely controllable

yeah blendshapes driven by joint rotation are fantastic solutions and dont trip up anything either - nice one Mr Stahlberg! So long as yer blendshape is calc'd before the skinning then yer laffin :D They're great especially when you have a character squatting down - you can keep the volume in le derrier (or somethin!)
